  1. Vincent Bagetta was definitely the substitute David Renaldi on One Life to Live. The substitute Marco was Justin Dees. Nancy Frangione was the substitute Tina. Felicity LaFortune was a very good substitute Nora. Cynthia Belgrave was a substitute Sadie. There was also a substitute Asa, and he was very good. Could you tell me who played Liz (a waitress at McKays) on All My Children. I have watched an old episode in which she introduces herself. She looks very familiar.
  2. Two actors from Love Is a Many Splendored Thing who have passed away (without my knowledge until recently) are Rusty Thacker (who died on December 7, 2012) and Vincent Baggetta (who died on May 2, 2017). Mr. Thacker played Andy Hurley #2, and Mr. Baggetta played Dr. Pete Chernak #3. Interestingly, years later on One Life to Live, Michael Zaslo (who had played Dr. Pete Chernak #2) had to be away from the show for a while, and Vincent Baggetta was his substitute.
  3. The unknown whereabouts of writer Grace Garment was also something that Mr. Slesar could have penned. There were even Watergate connections, and, in a way, the Watergate scandal caused The Edge of Night to cease broadcasting live episodes.
  4. Would you be kind enough to list the roles of Ted LePlat?
  5. I never cared for Gabrielle - especially when she stole Delilah's (who was her business partner) designs and claimed credit for having created them.
  6. Here are some other roles that were not listed above. You probably have a record of them, but they were not listed: Frances Sternhagen appeared on The Secret Storm (as the mother of Mark and Stace) Arlen Dean Snyder also appeared on As the World Turns (as either the friend or the manager of Sandy Hughes) Eileen Letchworth also appeared on Another World. Polly Rowles also appeared on The Edge of Night (as Esther, a waitress in a diner who befriended Nicole upon her return to Monticello) Tudi Wiggins was also on Strange Paradise (a Canadian serial) Frances Foster appeared, I think, on both Ryan's Hope (as Marion George) and on All My Children (as Nancy's Aunt Bess). Lois Holmes appeared on The Guiding Light (as Chritina Pickles' mother). Bess Armstong (listed as having appeared on Love of Life) was married to the late John Fiedler (Edge of Night, One Life to Live).
  7. Can anyone tell me about the character that Michael Shannon played on Search for Tomorrow. He was one the show as Jim McCarren in 1971 and 1972. (He appeared on All My Children later in 1972.) robbwolff is correct about the ending of Search for Tomorrow. NBC wanted it on the schedule for thirteen more weeks (because a suitable replacement was not ready). However, Procter and Gamble wanted to begin the new year in the black, and halted production of the show.
  8. Yes, that is Beverly Penberthy on the Pepto Bismal commercial. That is Albert Stratton (Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, Lovers and Friends, All My Children) on the commercial for Chevrolet. Debbie Allen (from FAME - and sister of One Life to Live's Phylicia Allen) was on the left in the Jif commercial.
  9. Does no one remember the name of the character that Susan Anspatch played on this show?
  10. Actress Susan Anspach has passed away. I cannot remember the name of her One Life to Live character, but I seem to recall that she was involved in some way with the character played by Granger Hines. Can someone tell me who she played?
  11. I think Shelia #2 was beautiful and , unfortunately, used much less that Shelia #1 had been.
  12. to Amybrickwallace: The show, I believe, went remote even back as far as Cathy Craig's storyline. Scenes, unless I am mistaken, were filmed in Odyessy House n New York. I am Andrea Evans's number one fan. However, I preferred Karen Witter in the role of Tina. (I did not care for Krista whatever-her-name-is in the role at all - and I waited six months before I formed my opinion).
  13. to Dr. Neil Curtis: Lydia Hannibal (Chris Hanold on Ryan's Hope) auditioned for the role of Angie when Debbi Morgan was leaving the show. it was said that she was ALMOST cast, but was not in the end. Agnes Nixon was quoted at the time of Ms. Morgan's departure that she had great plans for the character of Angie for the upcoming year. I think that she must have changed those plans because Ms. Quartermain did not have all that much storyline.
  14. Where is Ron Martin (David #1)? What is he doing today?
  15. I thought that Jennifer Leak had played a woman on a cruise on All My Children. I guess that I am mixing that up with one of her One Life to Live roles.
  16. I have been interested in substitute performers in roles for many years. I will share a list that I have (mainly from my own memory) later. My question is about an episode of As the World Turns around 1964 or 1965. Two sublstitute actresses played Penny and Ellen. The actress who played Penny may have been Abigail Kellogg, but I am not sure. I have no idea who played Ellen in the episode. Do you have any information on that?
  17. When Erica was away from the show (having her daughter in real life), she was written in the storyline as having moved to Hollywood. When she returned, she reported that she had tried to get auditions, but no producer would let her. The only job offers she had had involved removing her clothes, and she had refused. But also, did Adam, after purchasing the rights to her book Raising Kane, have her starring in the film version that he never intended to release? I cannot remember for sure.
  18. In the interest of completeness, I will add that Judith Barcroft played two roles on The Edge of Night. Her first role was as Miles' mother.
  19. Mr. Shoberg was dropped from the regular cast. It was said that he would then be a recurring character, but I think he only was on once or twice after that. He should have been moved to One Life to Live at the time (or after) Robin Christopher continued her role as Skye on One Life to Live. He would have been an excellent confidant for her - trying unsuccessfully to talk her out of the things she was doing. He could have also been a former player on Asa Buchanan's football team (the Llanview Cougars) and an ex-teammate of Alex Lownes.
  20. After James Karen left the show, Dr. Burke was no longer seen. Judith Roberts (Yolanda Birch) also played Lettie Jean #2 on All My Children. Didn't Nick Wyman play Dr. Gus Norwood on The Edge of Night? To Slick: I cannot tell you anything about Mr. Rozakis's role on One Life to Live. I have many old videotapes of soap operas, and I found him on one of them. I think that he was in a storyline with Simon. I think that Cassie and Dorian were a part of that storyline. Toni Darnay played a role on Search for Tomorrow. This may have been a substitute role. The year was around 1971.
  21. to Slick: Do you know anything about a soap opera writer named Toby Igler? She was married to actor Frank Sutton. Several descriptions mention that she was a soap opera writer.
  22. I am sure that Skye originally sang at the Goal Post - not Panache. Antoinette Byron played the role. There seemed to be an attraction between Skye and Tom from the beginning, although I do not remember how long it was before they got together. Tom had been beaten up by Adam's henchmen right before Adam's wedding to Erica (because Erica and Tom had a one-night stand on the eve of the wedding).
  23. I enjoyed both the Viki in Heaven storyline as well as the Dr. Dorian in Hades storyline. It reminds me of the show's original working title (Between Heaven and Hell).
  24. Lin Bolan, the creator and producer of this soap opera, has passed away.
  25. Jill Andre - All My Children, As the World Turns (as Sandy Hughes #2), The Guiding Light (as Dr. Sara McIntyre #2). On All My Children, I have no idea about her name, but she was a cellmate of Kelly Cole. She was a girlfriend of the late Peter Duel and also Ted LePlatt in real life.
