  1. Carrie Ann is taking a leave of absence from the show... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-9513977/Carrie-Ann-Inaba-taking-leave-absence-Talk-focus-being.html
  2. I enjoyed the ATL reunion tonight. However, do I think the cast needs a reshuffle? Desperately.
  3. That was the worst Oscar telecast ever. What a boring mess.
  4. I loved that Lauren Bacall story - and her statement about love not being possessive - what a fabulous woman and what a loss to her family and friends.
  5. Thank you for posting - it feels VERY Bethenny Ever After & RHONY in its production values in that the show seems to be more about Bethenny than the competition to work for her, so for me it only has a hint of the Apprentice...which let's not forget, Bethenny was on when Martha Stewart hosted it.
  6. They likely do not make a guarantee of exact pay. A range is not out of the ordinary. As well, Corday is working with a budget in mind, so Corday would have reasonable knowledge of what kind of money he'd be working with overall - the talent budget is only a part of the overall production budget, and note that Deadline said If-Come deals were being made with 'key' cast members - not everyone. There is likely talent who will be given 'take it or leave it' deals if the show is renewed and others who Corday does not feel need to be secured in advance.
  7. None of the cast members are on contract anymore. An "If-Come" deal is essentially a contract that says if a deal is reached with the studio that the contract will be picked up - think of it like a pre-planned contract that is contingent on something else (Sony and NBC reaching a deal) happening. You say they can walk - but for most of the cast - to where? To what? Options within daytime are very limited and outside of daytime it's even more competitive.
  8. Note that Deadline says it doesn't generate profit for Sony - not NBC. NBC is of course making money off of ad revenue for DAYS - if they didn't they'd swiftly cancel it. Sony doesn't make a profit off of the US license fee - which is why they need to sell the show overseas more than they had been (which was a big part of the Corday lawsuit).
  9. Thank you for posting that. It does give me a slight bit of hope that this is a negotiation that got pushed back due to Covid-19 and is proceeding as normal. I sure hope so - I'd like to see DAYS get some stabilization with a 2 year renewal but I don't envision NBC and Sony agreeing to that. We wait and see I suppose.
  10. The death of Darlene Conley was really the mortal wound to B&B that it's never recovered from and I'm not so sure anyone at CBS/Bell ever quite realized it. The lack of a B storyline, let alone a C storyline, has really hurt the show. What's so surprising to me is for a show with such a stable producing and writing team that the tone and style of the show has had so many incarnations over the years. You would never know that the same man has been at the helm for 30 years + years.
  11. I am 100% watching purely for the ability to trash Erika at every opportunity. I hope this season is full of schadenfreude - if any of the allegations about her or Girardi are even halfway accurate they have earned this disgrace. That's what I loved about the early seasons of BH when all these small societal slights and their spending spoke volumes about who some of them really were.
  12. What terrible news - she was a fabulous actress. I first saw her in a PBS Mystery movie called Dead Gorgeous circa 2002. She was sublime and I'd been a fan ever since.
  13. That episode of the podcast was so funny - "OR WHAT?" *Cookie Monster Voice* - I was rolling. Danny is a joy. That photograph illustrates another issue he raised - that it's obvious Erika has run out of cash and has no glam squad because her makeup is so poorly blended. Look at that line of demarcation at her temple and along her hairline. Mikey Minden would never.
  14. And it's also - if people are on the side of TRUTH and JUSTICE, that somehow means they're wrong, Erika? No. Just because you are friends with someone does not mean you have to blindly stand by them. If she's proven to have knowledge of what Tom Girardi allegedly did, then she's just as bad as he is and can sit all the way down and shut all the way up.
  15. That's how I feel too. It's uneasy that there's been ZERO information. On the one hand, the show has invested in new sets - why would they ever bother to do that? On the other hand, is this why Sweeney agreed to return because she knew it was a finite period of time to give the show closure?
  16. He is so tone deaf it's astounding. And of course, he's a hypocrite. He is making excuses for people's 'political' or 'cultural' views, meanwhile he's done lord knows what to as many HWs and Bravo talent (ahem, Kathy Griffin) for much less important and far more personal reasons.
  17. I agree that Janet is top tier in the supporting role of the Botox loving witty gossip who has few inhibitions and isn't afraid of anyone. I am going to maintain an open mind about the newbies in Melbourne - Gina was a driving force, but her last season she seemed different, more guarded and clearly hated Sally with a passion and just didn't want to film with her. Lydia is someone I didn't enjoy that much - I thought she treated her employees horribly and I just could not laugh at how tone deaf she was. I got to the point where I questioned whether the show had become too repetitive with Gina lashing out two or three times a season, to great impact. This reset is either going to ruin the show or give it a new lease on life so I'm going to stay open minded. I just hope it isn't ugly like Sydney was. For such a beautiful city, the women on that franchise were heinous in their behaviour.
  18. I've been asking the same for a few months now and it's crickets. I can't recall the renewal ever being announced this late and I'm a little bit concerned.
  19. What a perfect analogy. I found the BH trailer better than expected - and I'll be tuning in but only on the premise that we'll be witnessing the fall of Erotica Lame. I can only hope the editors feel the breeze changing as the evidence starts mounting against her (like last week when documents were discovered, apparently signed by Erika, that placed priority of a lender to Tom Girardi ahead of her own status as a spouse...). I'm glad to see Sutton get a diamond after she, Garcelle and Denise carried last season on their backs. Really looking forward to the Kathy Hilton FOH role. As @Soaplovers said Kyle is always overshadowed by someone and it'll be a delight to see Kathy naturally overshadow her. NJ I am loving this season. The production company hit it out of the park given they filmed right in the middle of the pandemic. I like that everyone has some skin in the game and that the group as a whole can move on from some of the pettier crap and still laugh. The importance of the husbands cannot be overstated - sometimes they *make* the show. DALLAS I tuned into this last episode to see what everyone was discussing re Kari and yeah...she's a terrible person. I haven't ever liked her and found her hard to watch always, but this reinforced it. I think this season has lost all of its momentum and I think this franchise might need to be put out to pasture. It's always struggled and this season has been markedly worse outside of the Mama D scenes which are, as always, soap opera gold. ATL For me, Marlo is a joy to watch and her appearances can make even a mediocre episode fun. However, I think this season is weird with so many people ducking in and out of the show like Tanya, Fallon, LaToya etc. The cast feels unstable. I also think Cynthia's time is up - that wedding was an appalling Covid caper and I just don't see what she brings to the show anymore. I think they need to bring back Sheree and Phaedra next season.
  20. Of all people...he seems like a decent person but the GH cast is bloated and he's certainly not needed.
  21. That's insane! The US Court system is using publicly accessible Zoom? Lord.
  22. Delighted for you!
  23. This Jen Shah news is both shocking and not surprising. Her lifestyle made no sense at all. The Federal Prosecutors do not play around and the supposed tea that members of the Glam Squad were undercover agents is incredible.
  24. As I thought. There was no way she was leaving without getting paid. CBS knew they had no grounds to fire her and that she knows where a lot of bodies are buried.
  25. There is no way on earth Sharon hasn't either had the balance of her contract paid or reached a settlement of some kind with CBS. She lawyered up very quickly and the last two weeks have very likely been solely focused on Sharon's exit package. That's exactly the problem. CBS has miscalculated this from a business decision - not only will the news cycle have moved on but nobody is going to care about the show because all of the 'heat' this controversy brought disappears into thin air when Sharon doesn't return.
