  1. Great news! I still worry about Peacock's viability, and what would happen to Days if the service were to go down, but I'm thrilled to know that Days will still be there in an increasingly turbulent and stressful world.
  2. Thanks for the additional insights, Errol. One benefit of Days shifting to streaming has been that they aren't beholden to such exact episode lengths. We've gotten a few 45-minute-plus episodes since the move, but sometimes they're as short as 31-32 minutes. I think that CAN benefit the shows both creatively and financially.
  3. I do think there could be something to, like, doing four original episodes a week (M-Th) and then using Friday as a recap show of the week, maybe with a deleted scene thrown in or an interview clip or something. If it were to come to the point of wanting to reduce episode orders, that is.
  4. Gwen and Dimitri are still married, so I guess she has access to his money but he also does?
  5. This feels like they came up with this idea of doing a story with Monica's heretofore-unknown sister and decided to cast it with a notable daytime face, not like they decided to bring Slezak on and then swerved to make her Monica's sister instead of Viki. I'm sure the story will be too "clever" by several notches, but I'd imagine this is all tying in with LC's sendoff, so I'm at least curious to see what they do.
  6. I thought I had missed something major with all the talk about Leo knowing they have Sophia's baby! Sophia does know, though. I mean, even if she can't be 100% sure, she knows Leo and Javi are caring for a baby boy who was left at the safe haven drop-off the same night her baby boy was born, so it's a pretty reasonable leap for her to make.
  7. I genuinely can't remember -- did they ever say anything about Doug III having been raised in France? We know his dad went to France with Robert LeClair back in the 70s, but we don't actually know where this Doug was raised or anything, right? When they introduced him, it sounded like Hope's half-brother Charles was "far away" and out of touch with her and the family, but I don't think we got any specifics. This kid definitely seems American.
  8. Thanks for keeping things functioning smoothly and properly archived! The amount of history on this site is half the attraction.
  9. It was part of the story where Marlena, Kayla, and Kate were thought to have died... but actually were being held in cryogenic tubes by Megan Hathaway and, uh, all had a collective hallucination about going to Purgatory or something. The Devil took the form of Nick and then shape-shifted into Susan, Jordan, and Adrienne to toy with the three women -- something asinine like that. So at least the three actresses didn't really play "Nick Fallon," just an apparition that was using his form. I feel dumber for having typed that.
  10. I don’t know if retroactively making two of John’s grandchildren the products of incest would’ve been the best way to honor John or Drake…
  11. Right. If the panel is only looking at what is submitted, it's more whether the character/actor was a lead in those scenes/episodes, rather than on the show as a whole. I would imagine most people in daytime have a vague sense about other folks' status on their shows, but there's no real verification process for that. Peggy McCay's nomination was mentioned above, and James Reynolds won for Lead in 2018. Abe was a 'lead' in the sense that he had heavy material in the story concerning Theo's shooting, but he has rarely ever been a true lead on the show. I agree that SSH would've had a stronger chance at being nominated in the Supporting category. As much as I hate to admit it, Leo HAS been a lead on Days for the last few years. He's involved in almost everything (annoyingly) and drives a fair amount of story. The actual content feels very supporting, but you could make a decent argument for him being a lead (again, as much as that speaks to how bad the show is...).
  12. SSH was a 'lead' in that particular storyline. The categories are so broad and almost meaningless, regardless.
  13. Man. How awful -- 56 is way too young to be gone. His charisma really sold a lot of insane Nip/Tuck material. May he RIP.
  14. This is put together well! I'm not crazy about everything I see in it, but I like the vibe and the effort. The Horton Clinic thing probably coincides with the anniversary and looks great. Nice to see Mike!
  15. This is an incredibly stupid recast.
  16. It's been blindingly obvious that he's playing Dumas since the announcement, which is fine (though the secrecy is ridiculous), but if this turns out to be Cane...
  17. Agreed about CM's hair. I know it's just the hair that he has right now and they can't do much about it for a short visit that he probably filmed in 2 days, but it reads very young. LOL about Sophia and Tate. Have they, like, registered with agencies? Done anything but see if random relatives or people from church are in the market for an infant??
  18. I thought that Sophia/Aaron interaction was planting the seed for what many have predicted. Especially with Tate reinforcing to Aaron that he and Sophia used protection. I'm glad Will got scenes with the new Gabi and the adult Gabi, but Chandler Massey definitely looks absurd as the father of an 18-year-old girl. Cherie Jimenez visually sells it a little better. I know Will was a teen parent, but they were like 19 when Ari was born, not 14...
  19. He did Beyond Salem in 2021, and they used him on the main show in 2017 and in Chad & Abby in Paris in 2019, so he'd be the more natural one for them to have asked this time.
  20. Random as hell! I just saw this on Insta. I wonder if they're using him to usher in Noah, and they couldn't get either Christie Clark or Austin Peck. Or someone at Days wants to throw PM a bone for SAG insurance purposes.
  21. Thank you for the tag, @DRW50! I'm away on a trip this weekend and cannot wait to dig into these and read people's commentary.
  22. I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
  23. I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
  24. It's nice to get some concrete data on this. It makes sense -- there's a lot of value in a show that gets people to open the app every single weekday. I do agree that it'd be nice if there could be a once-a-year kick in the pants for funding a special event or week of episodes or something. The tight margins are what MAKE it a success, so I'm not expecting them to break the bank and upend that, but there has to be a little wiggle room.
