Glad you enjoyed the episode. From my recollection a must-see TV period of B&B but it took a major nose-dive as soon as Sheila was MIA. I think it was until 2-3 months that we saw Sheila again in the spychiatric ward with Kin Shriner and Elleen Wheeler.

B&B started to tank around summer 1995. Then in the fall Sheila returned and Lauren moved over from Y&R to B&B, but by 1996 they weren't in each other's orbit as much.

Oh this was fantastic! It appears Bill Bell modeled Stephanie/Brooke after Jill/Katherine a bit.

Bill Bell used elements of Katherine/Jill and Vanessa/Lorie for Stephanie/Brooke. This Thursday's B&B repeat is another Stephanie/Brooke confrontation, a clip from this episode is earlier in the thread and it's Susan Flannery's Emmy winning episode for 2000.

I’d love to see some footage of Terry Lester’s Jack vs. Victor, as I’ve only seen the iconic moments between Bergman’s Jack and Victor. Was the hate as intense with Lester’s Jack?

What we saw onscreen is nothing compared to EB/PB real life beef. Watch any Victor/Jack scene from the first 15 years of PB's run; the tension between them is visible. From what I remember in EB's book, he didn't delve into many details of said beef but he seemed regretful of it.

What I've always wondered was EB's working relationship w/ TL. EB never mentioned TL in his book and he also didn't comment to the soap press when TL passed away.

Wasn't Sally Spectra pregnant with CJ when Darlene Conley was in her 60s?

Darlene Conley was born in 1934. CJ was born on screen in 1991. So Darlene was 56/57 during the pregnancy storyline. Macy was introduced in 1989 as a recent college graduate so if Sally had a 24 year old daughter in 1991, it's reasonable that Sally was mid-to-late 40s then even though I don't think Sally's age was established.

These listings cover the area between Buffalo and Toronto. Interesting that the cable providers carry network affiliates from both Buffalo and Erie.

CBS Buffalo aired Guiding Light at 10 am but I'm guessing CBS Erie aired GL at 3 pm, even though it's not listed.

As for the Canadian networks at the time, Global had Y&R, Days, General Hospital; CTV had B&B and Another World; CHCH had As the World Turns; CBC had All My Children. Of the long-running soaps, Guiding Light and One Life to Live were not broadcast by a Canadian network at the time.

I've pierced together this history about Canadian soap broadcasts in the last 20 years. Any Canadians here can correct me if I'm wrong:

General Hospital moves from Global to Citytv where it remains to this day. Y&R and Days remain on Global to this day.

After NBC cancels Another World and debuts Passions, CTV also picks up Passions. CTV broadcasts Passions for about a year then Passions moves to Global where it remains until its cancelled by NBC. B&B remains on CTV to this day.

As the World Turns moves from CHCH to Global where it remains until its cancelled by CBS.

CBC drops All My Children and doesn't pick up any more soaps afterward.

I'm still curious if viewers in Buffalo could get Global Toronto and watch the day-ahead Y&R.

Eric's win was so richly deserved. He should be one of those mega-multiple winners like David Canary. I remember that he didn't used to submit his name. Such a shame he wasn't there to make a speech. God Bless Eric Braeden lol.

I wonder why EB wouldn't submit his name for the Lead Actor Emmy. I don't remember him mentioning much about the Emmys in his book. 1998 was his 5th nomination and I was getting scared that he was approaching Susan Lucci losing streak territory. EB didn't get a People cover story when his streak was over though.

    Here's some more 1991 and a 1992 Episode I just added! :)

You should get a medal 🤗

The 1992 episode has a Nikki/Katherine scene, so MTS must have squashed her beef w/ JC by then. From what I could tell based on what was onscreen and what I've read, the MTS/JC beef was from 1990-1992.

I usually tend to love all alcoholism storylines, but my goodness, the Nikki/Jack scenes in today’s classic episode discussing her drinking were particularly well written and acted. I couldn’t believe how real they seemed.

Peter Bergman got his second Lead Actor Emmy for the substance abuse story whereas Melody Thomas Scott didn't even get nominated for Lead Actress. MTS's best scene during the substance abuse story was when Nikki was getting dressed and her hands were shaking when she was putting on her makeup.

I started watching B&B around 1992/1993 because of Hunter who was just gorgeous in the 90s.

Hunter Tylo was stunning in the 1990s. No wonder she made People's Most Beautiful list twice in the 1990s. Sadly she ruined her looks with all that awful plastic surgery.

Yes- I posted the clip under the best confrontations thread.

Thank you :) Whoa, SF was amazing in that scene. 12 years of rage brought to the surface.

If only they did a whole week of Sally episodes, she's the reason I ever invested in B&B in the first place

Hopefully FINALLY a QUEEN STEPHANIE week!? Took them long enough - let's hope!

That's what I'm looking forward to as well, a week of Queen Stephanie (preferably her best bitch slaps from 1987-1999) and a week of Sally.

With a week of Stephanie, it would be interesting to see the contrasts again in how she was written, Bill Bell's Jennifer/Katherine/Vanessa hybrid and Bradley Bell's female Victor.

Kimberly Sims, Melissa Hayden, and Jocelyn Seagrave! This is one I care to view.

Could do without Mark Derwin, but that's OK.

I'm down for this one too.

I don't care much for Mark Derwin either but he did act in storylines on Y&R and GL alongside two of my all time favorite daytime actors.
