Oh yes. The scene where Nikki said “You’re a very DISRESPECTFUL young woman!” I know Nikki and Dru are of different generations, but MTS and VR are only three years apart in age, and the comment felt patronizing in an uncomfortable way.
I don't remember this particular scene but I wonder if that's the source of VR's beef w/ MTS.

2874 is June 27, 1984! This was around the time that Nikki was looking for Victor's mother, but I don't know if there's a recap for that particular day.
Can't wait to see this!

Yet the only thing missing from that scene was Stephanie coming to defend her precious son to TGVN...
Bill Bell would've given us that. Bradley Bell was not smart enough to realize how epic it would have been to have Victor and Stephanie interact.
As I said before, Victor would recognize Stephanie as someone not to mess with and Stephanie would not dare to bitch slap Victor.

Ronn Moss trying to go head-to-head with Eric Braeden
It was hilarious in 1999 and it still is 21 years later. Victor looked like he was ready to wipe the floor with Ridge haha.

I've fallen down the rabbit hole of looking at ratings, EP, HW, time slot history for CBS's daytime dramas. For As the World Turns, I looked through 1978/1979 (the year they lost #1) to 1994/1995 (the year of OJ and P&G's EP swap) and I compiled this history.
1978/1979: 8.2 (4th). EP change from Joe Willmore to Joe Rothenberger in December 1978. HW change from Robert Soderberg and Edith Sommer to Ralph Ellis and Eugenie Hunt in December 1978.
1979/1980: 7.9 (6th). HW change from Ralph Ellis and Eugenie Hunt to Douglas Marland in Fall 1979. HW change from Douglas Marland to Jerome and Bridget Dobson in December 1979. 1981/1982: 7.4 (tied w/ Y&R for 5th). EP change from Fred Bartholomew to Mary-Ellis Bunim in October 1981. HW change from Tom King and K.C. Collier to Jerome and Bridget Dobson in January 1982.

1990 is a good year, and I feel the consolidation of why Calhoun was brought in as EP (to really temper Long's sometimes extreme tendencies). Reva, even though she's on her way out, didn't seem to eat the show and finally felt part of an ensemble cast.
I enjoyed the Robert Calhoun era but for whatever reason, there was a ratings drop during his tenure.
1988/1989: 6.2 (7th). Robert Calhoun takes over as EP in June 1989.
1989/1990: 5.4 (tied w/ Days for 7th). Kim Zimmer departs July 1990.
1990/1991: 5.2 (tied w/ Days for 7th). HW change from Pamela Long to Nancy Curlee in January 1991. Big cast purge during January and February 1991. JFP takes over as EP in July 1991.
JFP got the ratings up briefly but the momentum didn't last.
1991/1992: 5.6 (5th). Beverlee McKinsey departs August 1992.
1992/1993: 5.4 (7th). Maureen Bauer killed off January 1993. Buzz arrives March 1993.
1993/1994: 5.4 (8th). Nancy Curlee leaves as HW in March 1994.
1994/1995: 4.4 (8th). The year of OJ. JFP leaves as EP May 1995.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Janet Hubert's beef with Will Smith and Alfonso Ribiero.
What I haven't been able to find out is if anyone from Family Matters had beef with Jaleel White when the show became more focused on Urkel than the Winslows.

Was Mark throwing shade at YR for using cue cards?
14 hours ago, DramatistDreamer said:I thought so. Derwin said it drove him crazy that actors would use cue cards, for phone scenes, in particular. Someone asked if Y&R used a Teleprompter and he basically said "Not even..." and said that it was actual cue card. He compared it to GL, which he thought was more about the work. I think that because GL was NYC based and closer to the theater world, it was expected that everyone knew their lines.
Mark Derwin was shady about his time at Y&R. I wonder how much of the well-known BTS drama he witnessed during his time there (Summer 1989 to Spring 1990).
I didn't know Jocelyn Seagrave was on Days not long after GL. She was shady about her time at Days (well it was the Reilly sci-fi years) but surprisingly no mention of that 1997 Aaron Spelling Fox show Pacific Palisades.

Stephanie really was disturbingly obsessed with her son Ridge and abusive in her means to control his life and select her ideal mate for him.
Vanessa Prentiss was the OG Stephanie. Even though the 1981 rebroadcast was part of a Victor/Nikki theme week, it was Vanessa that stole the show. I would love to see more episodes featuring Vanessa.

Same here. Of the 1980s episodes that have been rebroadcast so far, my favorite was Nikki's first visit to the Newman ranch.

Even if he would respond with “I’ll only let you do that once” I could still see her slapping him!
I hail Queen Stephanie, but I don't think she would dare attempt to bitch slap Victor

I agree! I wonder who would have won the scene in a Stephanie vs Victor face off.
I'd say Victor, but I think he would recognize Stephanie as someone not to mess with.

Three 1990s episodes in that crossover set
If only the Jabot/Newman crossover gave us a Victor/Stephanie scene. Two of Bill Bell's greatest characters and they didn't interact

I was LOL at how bad Moss was in this episode. Just tragically bad acting.
I ignored RM's bad acting for the first three years of B&B, but as the 1990s went on his acting got progressively worse.

I'm so used to seeing Jess Walton with big ass hair but she looks good here with the Diana hair.
Was this Prince Ali arc some type of 1980s Arabian Nights story? Really Capitol, you're trying to pass a White Australian with dark hair and a tan as Middle Eastern? Maybe in the 1980s daytime casting directors could get away with that nonsense.

If my calculations are right, the SOD recap from their July 31, 1984 issue would cover the weeks of July 2-6; 9-13, 1984. The SOD recap from their July 17, 1984 issue would cover the weeks of June 18-22; 25-29, 1984. I think the upcoming 1984 episode is where Victor is reunited with his mother.
Global update. Wednesday Global/Thursday CBS is 4738, original airdate November 15, 1991.
