  1. Really really beautiful episodes! Thanks for sharing!

Terry Lester was a god, and Eileen was stunning. She had a few unfortunate hairdos during the '80s (who didn't?), but I love seeing her so fresh-faced with the wet hair.

  2. I wonder how the tournament as a whole did ratingswise. A Fed/Delpo match at the U.S. Open especially is always going to be a major event, given their history and status as players. And it was building to a possible Fedal semi, the first ever at Flushing. So it's not surprising that that particular match would boost ratings.

I know Novak and Andy aren't fan favorites in the way that Roger and Rafa are, but I can't help but think the tour is severely diminished without them, Stan, Kei, and even Milos to an extent. When five of the top 11 are out, it's bad for the sport. And there was a lack of good competitive matches at this year's USO. Say what you will about the guys who are out, but when they are playing at a high level, they consistently push and often beat Roger and Rafa. And let's be real, the next-tier players haven't really stepped up in their absence at the majors. (Kudos to PCB and Kevin Anderson for capitalizing on opportunities to go deep while folks like Dimitrov, Tsonga, Berdych, Ferrer, Kyrgios, and Sascha Zverev floundered.)

One hopes that in 2018, the injured guys pull it together while the youngsters like Shapovalov and Tiafoe polish their mental games and really give fans something worth watching.

And I hope Yoshihito Nishioka comes back strong from the ACL injury. I just admire how he owned Jack Sock and really threatened Stan earlier this year.

Overall, the USO was a snooze, and tennis feels like it's in a weird transitional moment. But there's a lot to be hopeful about with the American women doing so well. And it'll be exciting to see how everyone adjusts to returns of Serena, Azarenka (fingers crossed), Novak, Andy, Kei, and Stan in 2018.

Bye Roger!  Don't let the door hit you on your out!

Take that BH for laughing at Thiem's loss. Now Roger has lost to Juan Martin too!

All of ESPN picked Roger and both TC and ESPN were hoping for a semi....aint happening....they already had an epic final at AUO.....time for some different winners...Delpo will beat Nadal.

BTW...I didn't think Roger was playing that well at the US Open this year.

Oh and time for your retirement Roger....you were fortunate to win 2 more majors...won't happen again next year.

We may not agree on Novak, but +1000.

Whewww, boy are there a lot of pissed Federer and Rafa fans on the Internet today and they are expressing themselves!

For what it's worth, there's no guarantee that a Murray withdrawal before the draw would've ensured that Federer and Nadal would end up on the same side of the draw. It's the luck of the draw, really, although one side of the draw is going to look very star powered.

Given how poorly Nadal has played on hard courts this summer (wilting to Shapovalov and getting absolutely crushed by Kyrgios), there was no guarantee of a Fedal final anyway. Federer would have had an easier draw, certainly. But what's in it for Murray to "screw up the draw"?

  5. Aviva was so shrill and insane she was unwatchable. Might as well bring back Kelly Bensimon if they bring her back. I also think the show has moved past Jill Zarin. That last season she was clearly acting her way through scenes, and she's not that good of an actress. I'd like to see someone like Heather on RHONY. Level-headed, straight-shooting, tough, speaks truth to crazy, but can bring the drama when necessary.

How do you feel about Novak working with Agassi?

I think it's brilliant. I honestly can't think of a better fit in terms of game, success level, and temperament. Agassi had a way more severe career slump than Novak ever did, so he knows how to bounce back from adversity to achieve great heights.

Unlike Andy, Novak seems to be slowly but surely finding his way. He's back in the mix on the Race to London. And I like his chances in Best of Five matches at Roland Garros.

I think I can agree with SS that this will be a really exciting RG. Too bad I'll be traveling in SE Asia for the duration of it, but hopefully I can catch some matches.

  7. Disappointed for Novak, but happy for Sasha. Anytime new names break through in the ATP is good for the game. Makes things more interesting.

Novak played Sasha like he played Kyrgios. Frustrated, out of sorts. It's all mental.

You must have not seen today's match cause Novak was horrible. It was even commented by others on Twitter how bad his yelling was. And his game is boring as hell and he was warned several times for playing to slow but no game points given out to him. He would bounce the ball over 10 times...ridiculous.

I did watch. I just didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Certainly, his celebrations weren't hindering Thiem's game at all, which would have been problematic. I do think Novak can take too much time between points, but he's nowhere near as egregious as Rafa.

  9. Ah, the Novak hate. 😂 Zverev is way worse than Novak with his yelling after each point/game.

DT just doesn't have the weapons to trouble Novak, which we've seen now in five lopsided victories. We'll see what Sasha can bring tomorrow.

  10. If I've learned anything this year, it's not to underestimate RF. I still think he goes in as the favorite to RG. The only thing that kept him from multiple French titles was Rafa's dominance, and Rafa's nowhere near the player he was then.
