I always liked it when The Oprah Winfrey show delved into topics that they would jokingly reference either All My Children or Erica Kane.  This episode was about Thomas Jefferson and his black and white relatives.  Cued at time code.

I googled to see what Hunter's portrayer is up to these days, and I actually found some nice pics of he (Daniel Covin) and Eric together, assuming from long after AMC. He has gotten absolutely gorgeous.

    Daniel Colvin is ripped now.

Aj definitely should’ve had a fling with a curious Hunter. I saw Rob Wilson’s Pete as a mixture of Opal, Palmer and Tad.

I initially thought Hunter was Asher (Caleb's son) but that was a different guy.  I barely remember Hunter.

I don't think they need to get the rights, because ABC already owns the show.  But I'm fairly certain they have to pay any actor who appears in flashbacks.  Still, I would think those payments would be rather insignificant.

I remember when ABC came out with those VHS documentary shorts in the 1990s (All My Children: Daytime's Greatest Weddings, All My Children: Behind the Scenes, etc.) there was an article in one of the soap magazines about how ABC had to get permission from all the actors who were featured in those old clips.  It was, to say the least a huge undertaking on their part.  I imagine those original agreements did not cover special projects or repeat episodes.  These days, I'm sure current contracts that actors sign cover everything under the sun so that the network has more control over how footage is used in the future.

I was fine with them potentially putting them together, but I always read Nelsen/A.J. as potentially gay, so it makes me happy.

I would have been fine with them together too.  On paper, they were a super couple in the making because of their notable families and what they went through with the baby switch.

I'll be honest that I feel a little vindicated. I know a lot of people saw Miranda and AJ as a couple but I never did. I always saw them as a sort of Jenny/Jesse friendship.

There was so much dramatic potential there: AJ, Miranda, JR, Bianca, Marissa (remember her?), Dixie, Adam, & Erica.

I miss Pine Valley so much right now.

Yeah AJ and Miranda were definitely besties.  Question is, whom would you have paired AJ with?  Maybe Sam Grey?

I was very fond of Gloria - I only started watching in 1995 so I may have missed her more controversial material. By the time I began she barely had much to do, until her last 5-6 months on the show. Blake was a very interesting actress, soft and tough at the same time. I really liked Gloria's exit from the show too.

Oh you missed out on all the bad stuff Gloria did.  When she first came to Pine Valley, she became BFF's with Dixie.  Unbeknownst to Dixie, Gloria was sleeping with Dixie's fiance, Craig Lawson.  Gloria was a whore, fo shizzle.

  8. Gloria Marsh on All My Children.  Was I the only one who liked Gloria?  I thought Teresa Blake did a fab job playing her.  She really came into her own as an actress when they paired her with David Canary.  I have always been curious as to whatever became of Teresa Blake.

Kit Fisher aka the Montgomery sister.  She was a McTavish creation and we all know how much McTavish like to use the "rape for redemption" plot device.

I would add Deborah Goodrich (Silver) too!

Oh yes.  The fake Silver Kane.  I remember when Silver aka Connie Wilkes sabotaged a pair of Erica's high heels, hoping Erica would fall down the steps of The Met.  But at the last minute, Erica decided to wear another pair of shoes.  :P

Look what I saw on Facebook this morning. Let’s hope hope and pray we see some old favorites, I doubt it.

    ALL MY CHILDREN FANS!

Cameron Mathison announced on his Hallmark network show, 'Home & Family,' that he had finished shooting an 'All My Children' reunion with many of his old costars and friends. It was a two day shoot. Check his show and the show's page sporadically for more details. He said that he would let everyone know when it will be coming out! Stay tuned!

Looking forward to this reunion.  Shot over two days?  Sounds like it could be a good one.

You guy’s make some valid points about the reunions, Julia Barr and Ray McDonald. I know it’s probably have already been discussed, but how is it that Lynne Thigpen played a Noah’s aunt and Angie’s aunt and the show didn’t make them related?

I didn't realize Lynne Thigpen appeared on the show twice as two different characters.

We've seen reunions with Erica and her men a few different times (2x on Oprah).  Wouldn't it be great to have a reunion with Erica and all her female rivals?  I would book La Lucci, Julia Barr, Kate Collins, Genie Francis, Susan Pratt, Eva La Rue, and Karen Lynn Gorney.

  12. Unfortunately for Julia Barr, All My Children has produced a lot of stars and she gets lost in the shuffle and isn't top of mind when reunions are organized.  Not to say she isn't important to the show's history, because she absolutely is.  She is just competing with other castmembers:

    - La Lucci is synonymous with AMC and soaps, so she'll always be part of any reunion

    - Kelly Ripa is an alum who is highly visible because of her talk show (and is probably the wealthiest) so she'll be included in any reunions, as long as she's willing and available

    - Mark Consuelos is attached to his wife's hip, so he fills another seat

    - Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams played the most iconic Black supercouple so they will get asked to participate in most reunions

    - Then there are other vets like Taylor Miller, Peter Bergman, Kim Delaney, and Laurence Lau who will get asked because of nostalgia

    - Finally, to round out any reunion, next-gen stars like Cameron Mathison, Josh Duhamel, Eden Riegel, etc. will get asked

AMC had so many great characters played by some very charismatic performers, so it's hard to choose whom to include in these reunions.
