The Politics Thread
And he didn't have to strip down to his jeans, pump iron or pick a Hallmark Mystery movie heroine as his running mate to get there.* (*Although, if I'm being candid, Kamala Harris occasionally reminds me of a supporting character in one of their Christmas movies. You know, the one that's always reminding Candace Danica Lacey how important the office Christmas party is to the company?)

BTG: History, Behind the Scenes Articles & Photos
I remember when people were shocked that SSM was succeeding JER as HW at DAYS, and I was like, "If you (still) remember Aunt Mary and the moose head stuffed with diamonds, then you know DAYS is right up Sally's alley, lol." I think hiring Winther helped GENERATIONS greatly, because he zeroed in on the storylines that were working and made some much-needed changes to the cast with AMC vets like Dorothy Lyman, Debbi Morgan and Bob Gentry.

GH: March 2024 Discussion Thread
For me, the problem has always been that I am being asked as a viewer to invest myself emotionally in these mobsters, when I know what real-life mobsters do and the impact they have on our communities. Even though Sonny and Jason have been sanitized for our entertainment, that doesn't change the fact that in order for them to appear at all sympathetic to the audience, their adversaries, including those who work in law enforcement, have to be incompetent, psychotic or somehow more amoral than Sonny and Jason are by comparison. I'm not saying GH glamorizes or romanticizes organized crime - although, let's be honest, Sonny and Jason (and Luke) have received more than their fair share of propping over the years - but I do think it's irresponsible for any show not to portray the full reality of organized crime or even show these sociopaths - and that's who and what mobsters are, ladies and gents; they are, at their core, sociopaths - receiving true comeuppance in the form of lengthy imprisonment and/or death. I felt that way when shows like "The Sopranos" were all the rage, and I definitely feel that way in 2024.

They really have put Ava through the old ringer, haven't they, lol? To me, having Ava fall for Sonny as she simultaneously plots to ruin him would be an almost total retread of what happened between him and Claudia, and we all know how THAT turned out. (I just hope there's room enough for two in Claude's grave in the woods, lol.)

I'm doing okay, thanks for asking, lol. This news is...interesting. And that's all I'm gonna say, lol.

B&B/Y&R: March 2024 Spoilers
I'm very worried about where that storyline might be heading.

GH: March 2024 Discussion Thread
We are so merciless on these poor young actors, lol. I, myself, tend to be like the late Sam Hall. I get very annoyed whenever I see an infant or toddler on TV who is clearly looking straight at the camera or up at the lights. That's all we can really ask for. I'm not expecting Steve Burton to turn into Larry Bryggman. I just want him to try. Give the new writing team something to work with!

All I really know about RFK Jr. is that he thinks vaccines cause autism, that wi-fi gives you cancer, and that the way to the WH is to let people record you pumping iron with no shirt on.

I agree! I'm surprised MAB didn't have him running an all-sandwich food truck, lol. It is! Or, it would've been. To me, though, it was frustrating how the one, semi-wealthy African-American family on soaps had to run a bunch of Baskin-Robbins knockoffs while their white counterparts got to fry much bigger fish, running oil companies and media conglomerates. Especially when you had the real-life Johnson family IN Chicago running Ebony, Jet and BET. On the other hand, at least Sally Sussman had the decency to spare us all from "Marshall's Famous Fried Chicken."

What if Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahey are about to pull a Josh Griffith and handle all the breakdown/outline-writing duties themselves?

Ratings From the 90's
I concur!! As loathe as I am to admit it, JER is EXACTLY who and what DAYS needed in '93 to "rescue" them from the bottom of the ratings barrel.

I wouldn't say he's "hot as hell," but he definitely has become a very handsome young man, lol.

Any Capitol Fans Here?
There was a lot going for CAPITOL, especially when Peggy O'Shea and (later) Henry Slesar were writing it.

ALL: Worst TWISTS
I'm sure the soap press would have criticized it, but at least Bill and Luke were cousins. I still don't know what, if any, connection Tad and Ted had beyond looking alike, lol.

B&B/Y&R: March 2024 Spoilers
AFAIC, Thomas could wait the next 1000 years until Hope is ready to marry him. He stalked her and terrorized her for months on end. He deserves to be left twisting in the proverbial wind.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Sorta brings new meaning to the phrases "hold the phone" and "off the hook." At the time, I loved watching the "Who Killed Georgie Phillips?" story. For me, it was the first time I was riveted by anything that OLTL was doing since at least 1991, lol. And I thought the climax, which aired in primetime, was particularly tense and riveting. In retrospect, however, I can look at that story and see the excesses.
