OLTL was the one I was most excited to see too--which may sound odd as I was more of an AMC fan particularly in '97 when I felt OLTL suddenly had become so awful--but I had seen AMC's 25th anniversary clip week and the 20th special, etc--but nothing major for OLTL... And yeah I remember GH being largely pretty bad--Luke and Laura heavy, etc, though the Tracy QUartermain ep was classic (and fun for me as I had just become a huge fan thanks to The City.

And that wasn't even a FULL episode I don't think--I *think* that episode aired after the switch to 45 min episodes in 76, no? (But can't remember the full dates)--of course even the Daytime to Remember episodes that were shown in two parts had minor edits (which I realized when I compared the AMC "Tom finds Erica's birth control pills" DTR episodes with the one shown on the I Love Lucci marathon and a few scenes were missing from other stories--and oddly the DTR episode had bad sound which the SoapNet Lucci didn't--yes I watched those tapes WAY too much). And of course poor OLTL was largely stuck with episodes cut by a full half cuz they only got two weeks as opposed to AMC's three and GH's four, but I remember clearly that when DTR was announced OLTL wasn't even going to get episodes... (So yes, OLTL has been treated unfairly by ABC )

Erica pulls it off best. I *love* Fra but sometimes she did give readings like that--I can hear it in my head now (but I mean the woman must have been a bit tired of saying "Good Heavens--and Oh Erica") Paul Raven thanks--and Shadows great pic--while watching those 1980 Cortland Masquerade episodes I realized how handsome Mark was. I wonder if I can track down his coke intervention--and if he would come back for the finale...

HBO: Game of Thrones
And I think this show may have made me realize I'm dyslexic--I've had a bad habit of not only spelling it but calling it outloud, Game of Thorns for some reason (in fact I think for the first few weeks I read about it being made I thought it was called Game of Thorns).

Enjoyed it too. I admit I did have a problem I expected which was trying to keep track and learn names, etc--finally I realized that as I keep watching I'm sure I'll start to learn them without thinking so hard (however it didn't help that I found both the actors playing the bastard brother and the main older brother to look really similar but perhaps that was on purpose). Some rushed stuff, but a lot to stuff into one episode and largely paced well--and absolutely gorgeous look and score.

And of course it led to the introduction of the Merricks and that story. I know many--or at least some--long time fans do see the Behr era as the start of the fall, but I just can't. That's when I got hooked (with the Janet in a well story), the show was nearly always second in the ratings and it had a lot of classic stuff. I wonder if they had to push hard for the story at all, in some ways it was like James Reilly was inspired by it to do similar stories but even more campy and even more long...

The Wendy Williams Thread
I admit, one reason I have trouble taking her seriously is she looks EXACTLY like a friend of mine when he perfroms as a drag queen (somethign that I think annoys him now as when he started ten years back or so, no one in Canada, anyway, really had any idea who Wendy was).

I got the impression people who liked Ask Wendy like it just for that reason. My sister and I watched her show last Summer (it has since been moved to some time I'm never home) and that was always the highlight cuz it was, yes, SUCH crap advice. I really think she's kinda a mean spirited lady. But, I admit, can be entertaining...

It's great after all these years to be able to put faces to names. How random that the mayor gave soap stars a party though...

Britney Spears Thread
Yes--and her dancing used to be one area I think she was genuinely very strong in. This video comparison says it all: http://www.popeater.com/2011/04/11/britney-spears-dancing/?ncid=webmail
