Sly naming Kevin as Head Busboy in 1599 gave me all the feels 🥰 a teardrop may have rolled down my cheek

They really did something right with the inital Kevin story. It's PSA material - but in a good way. Too bad, they ran out of ideas shortly later - Kevin and Keith are still around intil fall 1995 but more as recurring/day players. The move to Spectra Fashions did not give them much story unfortunately. I was also bummed that they dropped bringing on Ruthanne more...

I just tried downloading BnB 1773 from the Vault and it worked fine.  I'm on a Macbook.  The current Vault is still active and working until further notice. The only thing that has changed is that it's not possible to upload anything.

Yep, the Vault is still working fine. The downloading issues have always been around - but only occasionally. Maybe if a lot of people are accessing or broadband issues on the dowloader's part. no idea. Google drive has the same issues.

I agree. I think he's a terrific young actor. I'm glad he's back. He's adorable and he can act. I thought he should have been at least nominated the year (I believe 2020) that Douglas was dealing with Thomas acting poorly and revealed that Phoebe was Beth. Heck, I think he should have won it that year, but all female performers were nominated.

True! The writers sure knew what they had with this kid because "Douglas" had some iconic scenes in repeat mode. "I know who you are. You are Beth" or "Phoebe is Baby Beth!"
Plus, the episodes where Thomas scared the sh*t out of his son were cruel but made amazing material on screen.

He most definitely should have gotten a younger actor Emmy for those storylines... Tells you what these awards mean these days. I think the fact that this kid is super busy outside B&B shows that casting directors see the talent.

Is she no longer on BB?

Around the time when Alley's real-life husband was killed, she stopped appearing on B&B - way back in 2019. Surprisngly, she popped up in 2021 for Steffy's wedding and also had a couple of episodes this year. While the show continues to pretend that Pam is still secretary at Forrester Creations, she is not seen at a regular basis.

  4. I caught a rerun of this show like 10 years ago on a local station. While it wasn't the strongest primetime soap by far, the stetting was intriguing and Morgan Fairchild made for great TV. Mark Harmon really showed that he had lots of potential. The writing was kinda so-so (the Voodoo stuff was one of a kind), but overall the show held my attention for its entire run.

Didn't Bill Bell offer her the part of Stephanie Forrester on B&B? Or was it Jamie Lyn Bauer?

Marla Adams, what a stunning woman.

Brenda Dickson IS Jill. It is fascinating to compare these scenes to the ones from 1974 in the hair salon on the C mansion for the first time.

I think that in the long run it was a mistake to focus so much on the Newman family. Especially after Heather Tom was gone.

SSH was in the running for Stephanie Forrester, but Susan Flannery was the first choice.

I agree with your comment about Brenda Dickson. She was great in this episode. Unfortunately within the following 2 years she went for full camp mode and highly inconsistent. Therefore Jess Walton was the ultimate jackpot because she quickly stepped into these shows and graced us with her amazing acting chops. It's still criminal that the show minimized her 2006 onwards.

    Guys! Another 1984 episode! From 9/24/84!  :D

What a treat to see yet another 1984 episode. I thought Brenda Dickson gave a surpringly strong (and nuanced) performance in it - and Beth Maitland was very strong (as usual).

I have no clue who this is.

In think he was originally a DJ friend of Rick's. Then, he kind always showed up around their Aspen remotes. LOL

LOL!! Next thing you know Oliver(not Oliver Jones) the Eye on Fashion reporter will pop back up lol.

Do you mean Jarrett? Or was there a character called Oliver who *I* cannot remember...

Wow, a 1984 episode popped up on YouTube! Based on the commercials, this might  be July 30 or 31. There's a promo for Whitney Houston appearing on ATWT which happened August 1 and a commercial for a movie airing that Wednesday.

Wow - a 1984 Y&R episode. Plus, Whitney Houston appeared on ATWT??? Please go off-topic and fill me in - I had never heard about it before.

Sally broke my heart at the end of 1593 when she called off the wedding 😭 over the course of Sally's time on the show, did she ever find "true love"... a worthy partner who truly loved and respected her?

Not in the classic (romantic) sense. However, Adam/Myles from 1999 until his sudden exit in 2000 plus Clarke ca. 2001-2006 really fit the description as a true friend and confidant, IMO.

And I saw Jennifer Gareis first episodes - she looks and acts like a dump Donna - Donna was not that kind before and they want us to think Donna does not have experience like a modal and Brooke had to show her what to do when acctualy Donna was a model for Spectra and Bill's secret magazines.

I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Gareis from her Y&R days, but her Donna debut was so disrespectful to longtime viewers it's hard to accept her till this day. The inital storyline were sh*tty as well, so this didn't help either. Her Donna was only fun with Eric and as a rival to Pam. That said, 2006-2008 was so uneven with the Newbie Logans.

  11. I have now reached December 1993 (with many more episodes to go, what a treat!) and Taylor is now in Scotland with James. I'm torn on this story; knowing HOW it all turns out it is not that interesting of a storyline. But from a writer's perspective, I guess, this is well-plotted. Kimberlin Brown is now havily pregnant and wearing clutches (?) and other big hand bags. LOL

And #1686 had some more males models - which unfortunately are never credited. I thought one of them was Dorian Gregory of CHARMED fame who had already guest starred on B&B earlier in 1993. This time they saved on his wardrobe, though... ANybody else recognized him or am I wrong?

Good catches. This is quite a lot of stuff from 1995 with James in the dungeon etc. - and back in the day this would have been the ultimate gold dust. Full episodes in pretty good condition. Just shows how spoiled we have been by the Videoland and Official YouTube uploads in recent years and months.

I'll wait for the Videoland episodes to reach 1995 for now, but these should be 12 consecuitve episodes, I guess.

So they finally started uploading the 1996 episodes but they are labelled 2011. 🙃

It's super weird that they are beginning with September episodes. Not just because it was not the proper season beginning but also because many stories were almost headed for climax back then. Anyway, I'm glad that they do because I'm very anxious for closing credits. The first four uploads had no cast or crew credits yet, so hopefully tomorrow's uploads will deliver. I've wondered for years who played henchman Rocky...

BTW: for those who don't know. Model Kim Swanson is palyed Cindy Ambuehl. Today (well for more years...) she is a high calibre realtor and known as Mrs. Don Diamont.

I agree with you about Jack - he is strangely lackluster as a character. I liked him in the mob storyline, but after that was resolved, he simply seems to lose energy. He simply can't keep up with a dynamic character like Sally, and his involvement with Stephanie also doesn't really work.

I didn't like the gambling plot either, although it was something different. Similar to James' introduction or Jake's The show was at least trying to add unique characters. Nowawayds they are all just designers and models - and yet we don't get fashion shows anymore. Yawn!

But back to Jack: the show really missed out on developing Jack as a father figure because Taylor is seen with Jack occasionally but the bond with Stephanie is so much stronger. And all other aspects of Jack did get way too little storyline material as well. Looking at fall 1993 it is indeed shocking that he will be around for two more years before going for annual visits from 1996-1999.

I figured they might make her a rival for Donna so Donna/Eric have something to do myself. Wasn't Quinn jealous at one point after the Ridge/Shauna marriage drama blew up that Shauna being in the house while she was kicked out might spark Eric/Shauna?

Yep, if I recall correctly it was connected to Shauna exposing her and Qunn's treachery about the 2020 Las Vegas "wedding" of Ridge and Shauna. Shauna was super cosy with Eric afterwards and this sparked Quinn's jealousy.

In 1587, Sally says that Stephanie is responsible for Thorne and Macy breaking up.

What is she referring to? I missed that whole story as I only started watching when Sheila arrived.

Sally means the lack of support from Stephanie and the rest of the Forresters. Or in Sally's view: the family always showed hostility and/or lack of trust to Macy because they hate Sally.

The only real event shown onscreen: the police going after Macy on behalf of the Forresters over the theft of the BeLieF formula.

Unless both are back for a sad occasion, which may track with the off screen departure of Rena Sofer.

You are expecting too much (logic) from this show. I said it before Rena Sofer's last episode and will say it again: Quinn won't get a proper exit - other than a throwaway line. And Shauna is probably back to sex it up with Ridge and will neither meet Wyat (her quasi son in law!?) nor talk about Quinn. I'd be stunned if it were the case. Stunned.

  17. Doey anyone why B&B used Vicki Lawrence in her then TV talk show "Vicki!" to feauture a fake/staged interview with Charlton Heston to "promote" the Salute to Hollywood fashion show???

According to wikipeda Vicki! was syndicated (and not a CBS show), so I was quite surprised that B&B decided to incoprate her with her real talk show.
