Is it possible this has something to do with Damien and his Alexnder Dumas company/boss? Today we saw Sharon flipping through books and looking for clues. Is she going to find a book by Dumas like The Count of Monte Cristo and make some discovery? Is this a way to bring Cain back to the story as a powerful entrepreneur out to wreck lives? I know this is a longshot from hell LOL

But kudos to BOLD for editing in that single tear from Finn's eye. You know Tanner would in no way be able to bring that up on his own.

Seriously? No one should listen to anything they say about marriage. -- Yes, Carter is good-looking, but they can't give us any other reason for Daphne falling for him. Just what the hell is there about him that's impressive other than his looks?

Those ratings are a shot across the bow. If you asked someone last week at BTG if they'd be happy with those numbers, they'd tell you those are over-the-moon-happy ratings. I think this is a sensational number. The first new soap in 25 years and it requires 5 hours a week? Amazing. This is proof that there's a hunger for a good soap and that the genre is not dead. Even better? BTG had a very good first week, and I don't see those numbers going away. GH does well in streaming, so it may not be in as much trouble as it appears. I wish Paramount included daytime programming in their streaming numbers; I don't think they do.

If you think he looks good, then good for you. He was in great shape during the Ryan Carnes years. Now, not so much.

With the number of well-known writers at BTG, was it really necessary to hire Jamey Giddens? I don't get it.

It always feels as if the writing for minorities goes through levels and levels of scrutiny, from writers to producers to the EP to the network -- and that at any level, changes can be and are made. When has writing by committee ever worked? When has writing with fear ever worked? GH did to TJ what soaps always do when writing off a character, and I hate it. Instead of giving that character a proper goodbye and resolution, s/he disappears -- as if we're not going to notice that character is gone. Once again, it's production treating us like idiots.

I think we need a scene where their interior designer is fired for being so awful. That home isn't just generic, it's ugly.

I wouldn't be concerned at all. I think it's clear that Y&R and B&B rose to season highs BECAUSE of the halo effect from Beyond the Gates. This is great news. The downside? Y&R and B&B will not feel the need to change anything.

I do hope we get back to discussing all the soaps. I understand and like the excitement over BTG, and reading all the comments has been entertaining. Still, I hate to see the GH and DAYS boards go almost dead like the YR board.

I feel like we've seen this so many times I'm comatose. -- LMAO at the wedding stuff. It was campy and over-the-top in the right amounts, although it's wild that Anita and Vernon are SO in charge of their family but can't get their daughter to listen to a word they say whether she's holding a gun or not. -- Loved that family conversation halfway through the episode when they again announced "We're the Duprees" and that they handle things LMAO. And then Anita said "First order of business is finding Danielle!" LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -- Nicole's enabling Dani was hilarious. This family is so messed up. -- Also hilarious? Vernon calling for a press conference with the entire family -- except for the family member who had the gun. -- Bill and Hayley's living room is the first set that's a miss. It looks nothing like a room that would be off that (also awful) foyer. Bad layout, bad furniture, bad decor.

-- I'm perfectly fine with Peyton Meyer's portrayal as Doug 3. I think it's intentional, and that it's working for the character. -- Gabi's and Jada's scene about Arnold and Rafe had me rolling my eyes and throwing my head back like Dan F. at a circuit party. Neither of them could tell Arnold was Fake Rafe but they know "in their hearts" that Rafe is still alive? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. -- I love adoptions that have zero involvement with authorities. Regardless, I'll let you know when having a baby helps the Johnny/Chanel pairing in any way.

Daphne continues to be the worst actor on soaps. No, wait, that would be Carter, who acts like he's been drugged AND is under some spell. Fake Taylor could not be worse. That recast is an embarrassment.

Today's show was worth watching to see Gio in those jeans.

Have to agree about Tanner. He's not phoning it in, at least. I don't know what the hell LSV is doing. I expect more...SOMETHING...from a guy who is not only an actor on the show but also a damn writer.

Say it louder for the people in the back! I agree with all of that. The show is a mess right now, and ending Body & Soul doesn't end what's wrong with it. In fact, it magnifies the problems with the rest of the show. We have 2 more months of Ron Carlivati's garbage -- that is a LONG time. But hey, Janet Spellman-Drucker is working hard. Today we got a drone shot of Salem with everything covered in snow. She's such a visionary! (Of course, just ignore all that snow when you see characters at Salem Square).

-- Luna is horrified at what she became? If this is part of the redemption of Luna, it's an abject failure. A lot of people have "incredibly unstable" childhoods and don't become homicidal maniacs. -- Stretching the reveal to Luna that Finn is her father to another day is pitiful. This is a cliffhanger? And then to give it away in the preview for next week? Jesus. -- Daphne's lecture to Carter about returning FC to the Forresters was beyond ridiculous. How would anything she said matter? --Carter told Daphne "It's like you can see right through me." I was ready to throw tf up. That is not good soap opera. -- I'm tired of giving Lawrence Saint Victor a pass because he's so good looking. He's been so awful for so long I can't remember when he was decent. Nothing about his acting looks human. He's been absolutely terrible. -- And no, I'm not forgetting the ridiculous faces that Tanner Novlan makes when he emotes. That's also on the director -- if there is one who does anything but rush through filming pages. These people know what TN's skill set is, and should have him give pensive, stoic looks, not the scrunched-face "I might cry" faces.

I agree with you completely about Corday and especially Janet Spellman-Drucker, who I don't think has added anything to the show. They definitely share blame for the Body & Soul debacle. But then you say you're glad Carlivati was immediately hired by Michele Val Jean. Huh? He's as much to blame for the mess that is DAYS. I realize he won't be plotting BTG, but for me his hiring isn't a cause for celebration.

Daphne is a ridiculous character. They've never given us any motivation for anything she does. Helping Steffy? That's no reason for a supposedly influential business person to do anything she's doing. That will never NOT be embarrassing to watch. If we're not getting fashion shows and real products any longer, then just stop talking about launches. Acting as if the world is waiting on a FC product launch is laughable.
