  1. OK, so Janet Spellman-Drucker made the set better and safer. Was that difficult for her? That was accomplished by firing Albert Alarr the pig. And I don't believe she was responsible for Carlivati's firing. I don't think she had any of that power. Exactly right about JSD's uselessness. I've been complaining about her for months, because she has done nothing to improve the look or feel of the show. And you all know I've been ripping on those famous Janet establishing shots for a good while. I did see her desktop page, though. A show on the air for 60 years should not be playing with new technology the way they're playing with it. It's embarrassing. As far as Noel Maxam goes, I think he can make a difference. Look at the job Ed Scott did at Y&R after returning as Senior Producer. The sets -- both new and existing -- have improved tremendously. We still don't have enough sets there, but the look of Y&R has clearly improved. I trust that there are people out there who can make a show look better than its budget.
  2. -- Daniel Cosgrove is doing a good job as Ezra. Obnoxious as all hell. -- I have to LOL every time Sonny pulls a gun on someone. It's sad no one can tell Maurice Benard how ridiculous he looks. -- Am I imagining things, or has the music REALLY been amped up on this show? The dramatic, full-throated cues seem to be everywhere.
  3. It's fine to not blame his behavior, but that behavior will not help him. And no, he wasn't sent to the curb like a trash bag. I'm sorry, but this is hyperbole to the nth degree. The hatred is not high. But you know who will show hate? The nutjobs who act like Maurice Johnson is the greatest daytime actor of all time and who should be given a lifetime Emmy for his 13 weeks of work.
  4. I've mentioned Martin running for president more than once, because it's just painfully absurd. Why not for the Senate or a governorship? That's wild enough when we're not going to see anything that resembles real politics. They should definitely add household staff at the Duprees. They're using plenty of extras at Orphey Gene's, at that bar, and even at the police station, so why no household help?
  5. Yep, and he doesn't do them well. This story with Traci has already jumped the shark. I can see Traci having questions, but it's a quantum leap from doubts one day to "Wonder if it's really evil Martin?" the next day.
  6. You're joking about this, right? Stephen A just signed a 5-year $100M contract with ESPN.
  7. And also saying that the kids are his and Smitty's priority. I mean, that's a joke coming from him. Hayley was harsher to Naomi, but she's also a joke. I don't think she has anything to back up a word she says or a threat she makes. It's kind of embarrassing. I hear you on this. I love the real pop culture references, but sometimes it goes too far, as with the Naomi Campbell call-out or calling Anita an EGOT winner. Then we see her trophy shelf and see fake golden statuettes that look nothing like the Oscar or the Emmy or the Grammy. Agreed. The dialogue today was great all-around. Very real and natural. Sometimes it isn't, so I appreciated this. I'm fine with the limited use of background music (especially compared to GH which uses HEAVY music to do the heavy lifting instead of allowing the actors to do the work. I'm still not a fan of the scene endings. It feels like an intentional play to be different, and I don't think it works.
  8. -- I feel the same. Annika Noelle and KKL put in the work today, but so much of it was divorced from reality. For every time we heard a truth (Hope telling Brooke it was pathetic the ay she let Ridge use her) we got some complete bullsh_it (Brooke blaming Hope for losing Ridge). Then after all that screaming and yelling and almost-slapping, they say they love each other? Huh??? -- And miss me with Katie walking in to fiercely defend Brooke when Brooke did soooo many shady and awful things to Katie. -- Heather Tom wrote, directed, and acted in today's episode, and she did a nice job overall. I don't think she covered up that pregnant belly on JMW when Steffy and Taylor did their obnoxious victory dance, though.
  9. -- So Leo writes a gossip article for the Spectator rag and now DiMera is falling apart? Stocks are falling and vendors are leaving because of a loser gossip columnist? Soaps are so bad when it comes to business stories. -- Janet Spellman-Drucker is really working her Google machine overtime. Those establishing shots are hilarious! About zero of them represent the set that appears right after. My new favorite is those wide wrought iron gates opening to some incredible house and land. Then we get a 6'x10' set made from cardboard.
  10. -- Frank's fascination with Stephen A as Brick continues to confound me. I don't know anyone who wanted to see him with Jordan. -- I enjoyed the brief Liz and Lucky flashbacks. -- When Maurice Benard is in an episode, they really should give him less to do. His struggle to recall his lines is hard to watch. -- Sasha is such a dunce. Clueless.
  11. The truth is that Maurice Johnson is going to end up with a lot fewer fans than he had before he started using social media this way. I've gone from feeling really bad for the guy to not caring. I can't be the only one.
  12. I see no problem with posting those clips here. Anyone who doesn't want to see them can keep scrolling. I don't understand making a big deal of this, or any deal at all.
  13. The Traci and Alan story is moving too quickly. I think this should play for a few months, not a couple weeks. Why not have them marry and allow Alan to create even more chaos?
  14. -- Another good show today. Very soapy. -- Love seeing Dani with a different drink in every scene. 😂 -- Bill's and Naomi's talk about the case was good stuff, although it's unrealistic that either of them would go into detail about the case. Bill seems especially clueless. He told Naomi he wanted the suit to go away, and then offered nothing. -- Does anyone really believe Mike Davis would be the rainmaker at Bill's firm? -- Low point for Bill was the phrase "hysterical women." Talk about clueless in 2025. Any lawyer supposedly as good as Bill Hamilton is would never be so dumb as to use that statement. -- Alex Alegria continues to be completely awful as Tomas. This is Charity Rahmer levels of awful to the point where he's so bad it's almost fun to watch. -- Hayley gets my vote for Most Delusional. She comes from the school where consequences don't exist, believing Jacob and Naomi and everyone else should love her and welcome her with open arms.
  15. Now THAT'S Emmy stuff! It's hard to believe what Brad Bell has reduced Brooke to after writing her like this 30+ years ago.
  16. -- Why are Finn and Steffy giggling like school kids? I guess they've forgotten completely that their personal lives are a disaster. -- Carter and Daphne Rose are made for each other. Two lowlife, low energy people who are clueless, portrayed by lousy actors. -- The makeup department work worked overtime today, giving Hope and Brooke and Taylor that single teardrop from the eye. That's what BOLD calls "acting." -- I'm so embarrassed for this cast.
  17. We're now into YIKES territory. Maurice Johnson "left" with his head held high, taking that high road. Now we're getting this??? It smacks of swerving hard to get on that low road. I can't imagine anyone at BTG enjoying this, and I can't imagine this helps MJ get his next role.
  18. "I'm your Logan...the love of your life. Just like you're the love of mine. Please come back to me." This is the THIRD day in a row of Brooke groveling to Ridge. Stunningly awful.
  19. Maura West is always great, but I didn't see anything in today's scenes that were anything special or Emmy worthy.
  20. -- Very good show today. Movement in story all over the place. -- Brandon Claybon is improving as Martin. His scenes with Mike Manning today were his most natural. MM continues to do well. -- I still think this run for the presidency is ridiculous, and it take me out of the story. Make it AG, or governor, or senator. But president? Sorry, that's a joke. -- The legal meeting Naomi held should not have been at Orphey Gene's, but since it was, shouldn't the women have at least ordered coffee instead of taking a table for an hour and then walking out? -- Alex Alegria continues to be sooooo bad as Tomas. I have yet to see a natural line reading. -- The part of Mike Davis the harassment pig was miscast. They needed some middle age fratboy who we can see Bill hiring. No one would put up with this clown. -- Good scenes today with Chelsea, Dani, Anita and Vernon, and other regular cast characters.
  21. Brooke needs therapy more than any other character on daytime.
  22. I cared about Maurice Johnson losing his role only because I thought he was doing a decent job, and I hate seeing competent people let go. So I posted about it for a few days, and I was ready to let it go after the weekend. Much of this continued talk is due to Maurice himself. His continued and varied posts have certainly blown this up. I'm not blaming him, but that's just a fact. I think this has garnered so much attention is not just that fans love Maurice Johnson. It's also seeing MULTIPLE other actors who are WORSE than mediocre. It's saying "How can you recast Ted when ______________ is so bad in his/her role?" Casting had more than one bad day. We've talked a lot about Derek, but how in the hell did the actor playing Tomas get hired? He is absolutely terrible. Yes, he's good-looking, but there are HUNDREDS of hot and sexy Latinos looking for roles. GH just cast the role of Marco with a stunning looking guy who is also a very good actor. How did BTG misfire so badly? That's not the only role that's a miss, either. A new soap was bound to have problems. The ages on this show are a complete mess and shoehorning in Cady McClain is a problem. The fades at the end of scenes are awkward as hell, and the way yesterday's show ended was a complete "HUH?" So yeah, they have things to work out and work on. I just see firing Maurice Johnson as an unforced error.
  23. Besides, DAYS' timing is off. MLB Opening Day isn't until Thursday of this week. The idea of any fan losing her mind over a spring training game is absurd.
  24. Billy Flynn's cakes be cakin' today in them jeans.
