I don't buy Nicole and Vanessa as besties, either. Their personalities and their entire vibes are so different. Vanessa makes sense as a close friend of Dani. But no, the show had to shoehorn in Cady McClain as Dani's friend for some reason, when Cady's vibe would match much better with Nicole.

It's amazing to me that the people at GH developed a plan to compete with BTG and came up with this: TURN UP THE MUSIC.

Are you saying you believe Joey is really a C.I.? If what Jacob's dad said is true, then why is any payoff taking place between Joey and Marcel? And don't get me started on the stupidity of that handoff being done so openly -- with no one and nothing else around, not even a vehicle. That makes no sense. -- Why did Andre keep on his leather jacket all through dinner at Ashley and Derek's? Especially with that shirt also made of leather? -- That dinner party was so awkward. Nothing about the 3 of them screams friendship, and the talk about that documentary could not be more boring. -- Dani was not a winner in her showdown with Bill. She's still embarrassing herself. I agree completely, and it also raises the question as to why Bill doesn't have the power to get the country club to treat Hayley like a human being.

They should have either retaped that push Electra gave Luna or cut it entirely from the script. That was hilarious!

Yeah, the stuff with Emma, Gio, Trina, and Kai has been good. And I'm good with any scene that includes beautiful Gio. I think Marco and Lucas have chemistry. I think that is the plan, just like it's the plan to make us like Sonny by throwing sweet Laura at him. I don't know who Frank thinks he's fooling, because he's gone to this well far too many times.

With all those two have been through in the past year, it's just ridiculous that they'd even consider adoption at this point -- let alone by hearing someone in town is pregnant and deciding they'll take the baby.

-- Will told Katie that Luna came on to him at the Il Giordino Pizza Dump. Katie had a shocked look on her face, but we got no follow-up. Why? -- Will says he and Luna are doing great and that he loves her. Oh, and that they're not on the same page. Say what? -- The establishing shot for Deacon's pizza parlor has a street sign for Dayton Way, so I Googled it. It's in the heart of Beverly Hills. It's hilarious to me that Deacon could own a pizza joint in frickin Beverly Hills. -- $Bill's excuses for Luna are something else. Don Diamont should sue for destruction of character. At least Liam got to speak for the audience as to how we feel about Bill. -- I have no clue why Hope would go to her mother's house to flip through magazines while she's still so upset and angry with Brooke.

-- Kirsten Storms clearly has laryngitis. So why not send her home and give her lines to someone else? It's not like she was vital to any of those scenes. -- Eva LaRue needs to lay off the tanning salons and face fillers. -- Did I see a huge continuity error between Friday and Monday, or did I miss something? On Friday, Kai had a meeting in Drew's office and walked out. On Monday, Kai was back in Drew's office and then walked out again. Unless those were two separate meetings, someone screwed up royally.

What is going on with the music on this show? I'm just a few minutes in and Laura is meeting with Sonny for lunch, and the music is SO DAMN LOUD it's ridiculous. This attempt to sanitize Sonny with Laura and her "I'm your friend" crap is just disgusting. And was Ezra written onto this show solely to make Sonny look better?

Basic Ashley is the worst. Honestly, I don't think any backstory would save this character and this actor. She feels like someone with almost no personality, no matter who she talks to. If they're purposely writing Derek badly, they need to stop. It should have been clear by the end of month one that it's not working. The difference between Derek and Ashley is that Ashley is given "normal" conversation and dialogue. When Derek speaks, I want to say "Huh? Are you a human?" and I put that as much on the writing as on the actor. I don't see it. At all.

Ashley is Beyond Basic. I think she's so basic and vanilla that it makes me want to defend Derek. Derek is a stone, but there's still something sexual there. With Ashley, there isn't. I can't understand why she was cast.

-- Shanice is a combination of a little Shanice, a little Tiffany Haddish, and a little Ava from Abbott Elementary. I ain't mad about it. -- For now, I don't want Shanice anywhere but at that nurses' station. She thrives there. -- Dani and Bill kissed at the end, but my guess is this will all blow up in short order. Bill will want something, Dani will be pissed, anger will ensue, Bill will leave. Then Dani hits the bottle again. -- Chelsea vs. Hayley was fun, but I could not get over that Mardi Gras coat Hayley wore. Girl will never have class. -- Derek and Ashley have little chemistry, but Andre and Ashley have even less. I don't buy for a minute that there's some connection there. Ashley is soooooo basic they should rename her Basic Ashley. And how many times today did she tell Andre to stop being weird? Her conversations with him are pathetic.

Yeah, and compare how weak that is next to Shanice on BTG.

I agree with all of you that it's so good to see Paul and Andrew, and I would love both of them to stay. But Andrew getting played like that by Orpheus? Just no. That did not work. They could have written that scene in a number of other ways that wouldn't have made Andrew out to be a godawful agent.

-- Luna says "Just because I did some bad things, that doesn't make me a bad person. Then Granny Sheila tells her the same thing. Uh....if you kill two people in cold blood, you are a bad person. Why do I even have to say that? -- Of course, my feelings about Killer Luna and Killer Sheila subside when I hear Steffy again rail against them. She trashes them right in front of Finn's face, and even though what she says it's true, it's unseemly and ugly to throw that up to your spouse. It makes me want the killers to go on a spree.

The entire hour was a mix of something genuine and touching, followed by some nonsense and even disgusting scene with Sonny. That photo of Monica is a fail. It's too small and doesn't look impressive enough on that plaque or for that wall. That new atrium set we've been hearing about for days wasn't that special to me, either. I hate to be a downer, but those historical references were marred every time they pretended that GH opened on April 1, 1963. One mention was enough. Every one beyond that was an eye roll. Utterly and completely bizarre. It was essentially a standalone episode That could have been aired whenever. That didn't work for me at all.

I don't know any law firm or lawyer who sets meetings where the clients prefer. An occasional meeting at Orphy Gene's is OK, but if this continues to happen all the time, it's not. It's flat out awkward. The least the show can do is have the lawyers drinking coffee or having a pastry. Having them take up a table and order nothing is ridiculous.

-- I'm seeing here that many people think Bill "won" in those scenes with Naomi and the other women. I disagree. I think he's as dumb as his dumb wife Hayley, and I don't know how he gained his reputation. No lawyer worth a dollar would hit those women with that spiel. And don't get me started with how dumb those women were for opening up to him at all. -- I'm struck by how much improvement we've seen by so many in this cast. A lot of them -- Kat, Andre, Chelsea, Naomi, Eva -- are really stepping up and are markedly better. -- Tomas continues to be wooden, and it doesn't help that he was part of so many scenes today. I actually thought his best scene was the fantasy scene with Kat. That was the most natural I've seen him. -- Ashley is a wet dishrag. Subtext or not, she's a dud. If we can't see why Andre would be nuts about her, then she doesn't work. -- Joey and Vanessa might have chemistry, but let's not pretend they're anything other than a bigtime criminal and a slut who will sleep with anyone who looks at her.

There has to be a happy medium between music that drowns out everything and no music at all. I don't think it's particularly mature to have no music at all, especially in scenes (that others have pointed out) with weaker actors. I don't need the bombast of GH music or the eye-roll corniness of DAYS music, but I would much prefer music used in the Y&R manner. I think Y&R gets it right. A lot of us have mentioned the music, and to me that's an indication it's not working. It feel they're intentionally doing what they're doing solely to be different -- just as they're doing with their scene ends that I think are really awkward. Different isn't always better. You nailed it on that hospital set. It doesn't look like any place where people would gather to talk, and it doesn't represent the "main station" at a hospital where everyone would come and go. And what's with the patient room just 3 feet away from that main desk? LOL Yeah, I've grown to love it. Fits this show perfectly. The visuals bothered me like crazy when I first saw it -- the ones with the car blowing through the stop sign. That made no sense to me. Now I see it as a sign that the Duprees believe stop signs are for people Beyond the Gates and not for them.
