  1. -- Only in Salem do we get a frickin press conference with multiple "journalists" over the opening of a BAKERY. Jesus.

-- And why is Carson Boatman being so WASTED as Johnny? You get a guy this hot and you have him pining over girls who don't want him??? He should be the bad boy hitting it all over town, and maybe doing Dimitri on the side. Instead, we get him turning every girl he shows interest in either gay or bi.

  2. -- I agree with everything said here about this Leo/Dimitri/Gwen debacle. The whole thing is a nightmare in every way. And why is Leo dressed like a twink on Heartstoppers?

-- Sets alert: Another disaster. That Iceland hotel room is so ugly, so non-Scandinavian, so non-Ikea in execution that I couldn't stop looking at it. Drapes by Family Dollar.

-- Thoughts on Talia: Am I the only one who cannot see her as a doctor? There's NOTHING about this character that leads me to believe she knows what to do with a stethoscope, let alone do surgery.

Glad to see them back, but these returns happen during the week of AUGUST 28??? So we have TWO MORE WEEKS before we get to this memorial???

It already feels like they're stalling, so I'm thinking the next couple weeks will be painful.

@Broderick thanks for clearing that up.

From those numbers, if Camryn is on contract, it is with a 1 ep a week guarantee. I wonder if contracts still work on 13 week cycles ie with a once a week contract she wouldn't necessarily have to be on screen once each week but total 13 appearances over 13 weeks.

Camryn is a good actress, but I do not want more appearances from her if all we get is the talk-to who dispenses wisdom. I really find that version of Mariah insufferable.

He probably feels a kinship with Liam. Jumping between two women like Liam is doing is something Ridge has done for decades.

I know it's been done for decades -- and that's the very reason it needs to stop.

I've missed it but why are people assuming Taylor would have anything valuable to say?

I have to agree with you. I like KA in the role a lot, but Taylor is a SMH character who's no better than any of the others when it comes to common sense and letting go of the past and setting herself up for more hurt.

That's very valid.  I don't exactly disagree with you either.  I just can understand why the show did it the way that they did.  We don't actually know if they don't find a body (I haven't read spoilers, so I could be wrong).  There could be closure.   At this point I would say I am neutral on it until I see the entire thing play out.

I might be jumping too soon with my complaint, I know. I was going to wait to see how it played out before commenting, but that last minute when they mentioned the lost plane just hit me all ways of wrong.

I hope they don't screw this up.

I'm thinking they did the plane route so if they find no body....they leave the opportunity to recast the role.

Maybe, but I honestly don't think this role is one that can be recast.

As far as killing off Victor, it's a shame Jennifer and/or the family were against this, but I do see where the show is coming from.  With larger than life characters like Stefano and Victor I can see why the show wouldn't want to say they passed quietly in their sleep of natural causes.  It wouldn't fit the omnipotence of the Victor character even though it was easy to see JA's declining health.   I honestly do see both sides of this argument.

I hear you, but I have to disagree on this. While the Victor character was omnipotent, the fact is that we all watched JA's declining health over many years. We all knew it was coming.

When Maggie heard about Victor's missing plane today, I felt cheated. I realize closure is an overrated and sometimes impossible to get, but this -- a missing body -- is the very example of NO closure. It cheats the audience, it cheats the other actors, it cheats the character.

I cannot believe they settled on THIS as John Aniston's exit

Olivia has basically been Carly's number one apologist for nearly 15 years, even more so than Jason.

Yep. I've really gotten sick of Olivia lately -- all shrill and over-emotional and ridiculous -- but this Carly stuff has put me over the edge. I want her gone.

I hope returns soon and tells Portia off for interfering with and gaslighting Sprina

It really seems as if GH writers sat down and said "How can we get the audience to hate Portia?"

Ridge to Liam: How do you really feel about Steffy?

Make it stop!  Ridge being Liam cheerleader is ridiculous!

Ridge should be snarked at and mocked and laughed at in every scene he's in. That talk with Finn? Finn should've told him to phuck off.

And not that I'm surprised on a soap with writing this bad, but Liam is already begging Steffy to take him back. These characters cannot be alone for more than 2 days before moving on to someone else -- and their family members can't do anything but get involved in their loved ones lives.

Yeah, it's really teetering on the stereotype that women are more sexually fluid than men, especially black women; that they can so easily be turned or convinced to go the other way. On the flip side, I highly doubt we'd ever see an "alpha male" (ugh, hate that term, BTW) like a Xander or Alex suddenly get a boner for a dude.

I agree with you completely, which is why DAYS having so many gay/bi characters has to come with an asterisk.  The women on this show (especially women of color) are used so much differently than the men when it comes to sexuality. It's all especially embarrassing since Carlivati is gay. A straight white male couldn't do a worse job with these characters and stories.

Sloan's apartment is really weird.  There's an upstairs, but her bed is in the living room.  The bathroom is obviously upstairs because that's where they go when they say they are showering, so is it just a bathroom on the upper level?  No rooms?  So even if it is just a studio with a bathroom upstairs it's still laid out so strange.  If you open her door her bed is visible and there is a couch directly in front of it length wise.   It's a huge waste of space if that's her only room.

Like you and many others here, I notice WAY too much about the DAYS sets. I think that's not only because of story problems, but also because it's hard to believe how BAD so many sets are, from size to layout to decor to lighting.

Yesterday I couldn't stop gagging at Paulina's apartment. She's supposedly rich, but the place looks like Dollar General decorated it and then added about 20 more items when they were done.

In her apartment, and on so many other DAYS sets, I've noticed how obvious the piecing of the set walls is. They use 2x4s to connect wall flats in the most obvious -- and wrong -- places. It looks cheap and shoddy. The other soaps do not do this.

Watching today's show.....Greg Vaughn is seen in flashbacks with Nicole and seconds later recast Eric appears.😂. No voiceover just white letters explaining the recast.😂

Leo and Dimitri look so stupid together.

Showing GV in flashbacks on the same day a recast Eric appears is just more terrible writing. No one's home, no one cares.

Leo and Dimitri are a cringefest. Imagine putting your entire future at risk for LEO.

  12. I'm feeling a little vindicated today.

A couple weeks ago, I was called out for saying that cast members like Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn needed to say something about the mess at DAYS. I was told I was victim-shaming and that I put them in an impossible postition.

I think Arianna Zucker proved me right -- that cast members CAN and DID make a difference. Would Alarr have been fired without AZ's voice? Maybe. But when Arianne spoke out, the ball started rolling and others felt the power to speak out.

Notice that Zucker nevver directly used Albert Alarr's name. She didn't have to. I never said that cast members should put themselves at risk, and Arianne Zucker proved there was an effective and forceful way to make a point.

    What??

This show is just terrible. Why does this show have such a hard on for Emily, Greg Rikkart and RSW??

Albert Alarr should be fired not only because he's scum, but because he's lousy at his job.

This is an executive saying "These dumb viewers will put up with anything we do."

Turning Greg Rikaart into the star of this show is so dense and ridiculous that I have no words. Leo is a despicable person who we're somehow supposed to feel for and understand -- and forgive all the crap he does to others. And sorry, but Rikaart is just not hot enough to be the guy who turns Dimitri's head.
