  1. It's not working at all. Carly came off like a complete loon in those scenes.
  2. They really need to drop that run for the presidency stuff. From the beginning, it was an overreach, just as "Anita is an EGOT" is an overreach.
  3. Today's show frustrated me. -- If the show is presenting a Ted/Nicole/Leslie triangle, it's a fail. It will not work because viewers will overwhelmingly side with Nicole. Ted will be HATED for being so stupid and naive, while Leslie will just be "appreciated" for being a loon and crazed. It makes no sense for Ted to be interested in Leslie, nor does it make sense for him to entertain her in his hotel room for conversations. -- Having Ted show interest in Leslie could possibly kill his character not even 6 months into the show. Unlike others, I do not want the character written off. -- I'll repeat what I've said before: Keith D. Robinson is a strong actor who's been given weak writing. They haven't given him anything to play in his scenes with Nicole. -- The Chelsea/Madison/Alison story has been rushed from the beginning, starting with the threesome to the "We're in love." It's all ridiculously rushed. -- Jacob took the right approach with Ted as far as giving a statement about Nicole and Leslie fighting, but that only highlighted how aggressively he questioned Nicole. It made Jacob look ridiculous, and it frustrated me. -- Tomas is coming off like a complete moron. He's supposed to be a smart and savvy lawyer? OK, then don't tell Eva all the tea on Kat. Don't kiss her like you want to bed her. Don't hold her hand as you leave the restaurant. -- Isn't Tomas supposed to be wary of Bill as his boss? Would he really be this stupid in dealing with Kat? -- And by the way, none of those cute scenes with Tomas and Eva worked because Alex Alegria is stiff as a board and awkward as hell. Ambyr Michelle is great, which makes him look even worse by comparison. -- The star of today's show was once again Daphnee Duplaix. She owns the screen as Nicole.
  4. With Carter telling her "I'm so glad to see you again" with a look and smile that says he wants to screw her.
  5. -- No, Nick and Sharon would not listen to Carter and allow themselves to be locked into a room. -- If Victor is so damn powerful, why can't he do anything to protect his family? So much bluster. -- Eric Braeden is getting slower and worse with his lines, giving Maurice Benard a run for his money.
  6. -- After all the Martin drama, today's episode was a bit of a letdown. -- Why is Bill always passive/aggressive with Tomas when Tomas walks into the room? I don't understand constantly throwing shade and insults at a lawyer with your firm. -- Tomas has been off for a couple weeks. Is that why the actor seemed to be back at Day One in this episode? He could not be more awkward. -- Hayley's kitty kat act is getting tiresome. If she has hired a surrogate, are we to believe she'll wear a fake pregnancy belly and deny Bill sex for 7 months? And yeah, the "I'm 10 weeks" is also old. -- I don't believe Alison's husband pushed her, either. Regardless, Chelsea is coming off as dumber than a box of hair. Taking her to the hospital is one thing, but walking into her room to hold her hand? The girl has no brains. -- I am glad that the hospital room next to the nurses' desk is always available, though. I wonder if Alison will be kept there as long as June and Laura were. -- The Articulettes story is not working for me. As pointed out, it's repetitive. Even worse, seemingly major arguments are hashed out in 10 minutes. -- Pretty cool that Sharon and Tracy have enough money to make all these back-and-forth trips to see Anita. -- We keep hearing how great the Articulettes music was, but haven't hear a single note. I don't think the story works unless we do. Yeah, I know -- the budget prevents a lot. But I'd rather not tackle stories that can't play out realistically. -- Even if we get a song eventually, will it sound like a group who could captivate "the world"? I highly doubt it. -- But at least Carlivati got his "Articulettes Strong" into the script. Again.
  7. P.S. Hard to believe this show tripled down on more Leo Stark.
  8. And Peacock is raising prices from $7.99 to $10.99 a month, which potentially loses more DAYS viewers. I agree with you about the new writers. I was really happy with them in the first weeks after Ron left, but recently the show has slowed down -- as you said, playing it safe. If this is supposed to be something to look forward to, I'm not getting it.
  9. Oh, I agree with you there. That's why I called the writing for her bad, though. They're writing Ashley as just too awkward. Exactly, on top of Martin killing one guy and beating up on another. And not just a passing line -- but extended conversations!
  10. -- I thought today's show was a good one, highlighted by Nicole's emotional scenes with both Martin and Dani. All 3 were excellent, and their scenes were moving. -- Nicole is still very angry with Ted over the affair baby -- and rightly so -- and she makes a lot of good points about Ted not telling her what happened with Martin. Still, I think Ted had solid responses to that. It's possible that both people on opposite sides of an issue can be right. -- Dani came off as a little naive when she was first told about Martin's horrific story, as if it was hard for her to understand how that could happen. I didn't buy that at all. -- Anita is still coming off as imperious and a bit removed from real life. Filling us in on civil rights and marches and freedoms just seemed awkward. I was ready for her to say "DupreesStrong." -- I like Jacob and Naomi being on opposite sides, although again, the "I'M A DUPREE!" line makes me gag. -- I become less of a Chelsea fan every time I see her. -- Derek and Shanice are good together, although I wish it wasn't just for game playing. I realize that may lead to something more. -- Once again, Ashley did nothing with really bad writing. "See you later, alligator" is really what the writers are going with? They make her so lame and so uncool that it's unreal.
  11. Did this one have a 13-week contract?
  12. -- I feel nothing when I see Leo and Javi get teary-eyed over this baby.
  13. -- Hope told Liam's kids that he is a "hero." Does Hope know what a hero is? -- I have no idea why we should care that Will is happy about "my brother Liam's brain surgery." -- This actress playing Dr. Grace Buckingham? Not very good. -- Plus the character is dumb. She got a million from $Bill but should have scammed him for a lot more. -- Also releasing Liam from the hospital 35 minutes after his brain operation seems sketchy. -- So glad Liam got to keep all the hair on his head and his facial hair when he underwent brain surgery. -- How much longer before we find out Liam never had a tumor?
  14. Today's episode is a SKIP IT. I don't know why this show thinks we want to see more of this Home shopping network stuff. It's all so bad.
  15. For me, it's not about the target audience here. I just don't think we're getting a relationship between Chelsea and Madison that's based on anything. We know they're hot for each other and that they go to Uptown to gaze at each other. That's it. Madison does not come off like a professional/doctor and Chelsea comes off as vapid as ever. I won't applaud a gay relationship on a show merely because the characters are gay. I need more than that. Yeah, I know -- we have crazy stalker Alison following them around. That's also stupid and a complete 180 from how she was written in with her husband, who's now disappeared. I would also prefer SOME kind of pushback to Chelsea being queer (yeah, I know, she's "fluid."} Why does every single member of her family so easily accept her fluidity and queerness? You mean no one questions her trying to break up Alison's relationship and now moving on to Madison in a lightning-fast way? Look, I'm gay. I get it that it's refreshing to see characters who are unapologetically gay and accepted. But this is a SOAP. Besides, it's just not believable that everyone in their universe would be so accepting. I agree in part, but disagree in part. I have no problem understanding the younger characters even with all that slang thrown in. But that phrase -- "all that slang" -- is the problem. Writers are forcing young characters to use WAY too much slang. It's absolutely forced. Last week, Samantha (who looks like a grown adult using kids' slang, but that's another story) used the word "tea" multiple times. Then Tyrell used the word "tea" when talking to her. Are you kidding me with this? Teenage boys do not talk about "the tea." The crazy thing is that "the tea" isn't slang that's used only by young people. Aback, your post was pretty critical, but I have to agree in essence with many points you made, including this one. I do not think Kenny is dead. His blood would be on too many hands, including Jacob's father. They're not going to bury those characters as killers. Yeah, Martin killed Kenny's brother, but at least that was in self-defense. It's just crazy to me that all these powerful and brilliant men decided the way to get rid of Kenny was to bring in Joey the town mobster. I mean, my God. Yeah, that bothered me, too. I love outdoor remotes, but that did not make sense. Smitty showing up there had me LMAO, and that was followed by Kenny right behind him. They had a brief conversation that went nowhere. What was the point?
  16. I agree that Martin shouldn't be Nicole and Ted's son, but I don't think a twist or retcon would work. That's not what this show is or does. I think they need to flesh out Martin's relationship with his parents instead of ignoring it as they've done for almost 5 months. I have no idea what the show is doing with Ted. They've completely dropped the ball on that character, and I refuse to blame Keith D. Robinson, who is a good actor. It's as if TPTB said "OK, Now we have the actor we want, so we're going to change direction. But we don't know what direction to go in or what we want to do with him."
  17. Sometimes viewers have good ideas for soap characters, but often it's pretty clear why writers are hired and don't listen to viewers.
  18. 😂 You're probably right. BTW, can we agree that Liam never had a brain tumor?
  19. -- Even with all of the criticism here of today's episode (some that I agree with, some that I don't), BTG still had a better week than ANY other soap. No other soap is bringing this level of discussion and disagreement and analysis. -- I don't think writers have treated Nicole unfairly. Many of us (most?) think DD is the star of this show. That's because of her acting, but also because of what they've given her. -- I loved Anita's scenes with Nicole. Excellent acting. I did side with Nicole, but I wonder if writers want me to feel that way. I have A LOT of problems with Anita and Vernon's parenting and control, but something tells me the writers don't see that as big a problem as I do. -- It's a shame we were deprived scenes with Martin confessing to his mother, but the show clearly decided to get out that information through Anita and Nicole. Martin's been heavily featured this week, so I get it. -- For me, Elon isn't coming off as the brightest guy. I have no idea how or why he thinks his warnings to Jacob are helpful to him in any way. -- I look at "Next week on Beyond the Gates" as part of the cliffhanger. That's why I call the cliffhanger a big success.
  20. Yeah, I can tell Frank V is a big Amanda Setton/BLQ fan, but honestly, I don't see the same enthusiasm for Josh Swickard. I just don't see him getting much at all to play.
  21. Ooooooh, BOLD is so edgy and progressive! $Bill used the word "shitty" in dialogue today. How can one not be impressed with the forward thinking on this show?
  22. I hear what you're saying. I think I was just extremely happy with AH as the Lulu recast, and that made me more positive about the character.
  23. I'm good with Lulu, but I understand what you're saying. More than the other soaps, GH takes characters we're with and behind 100% and then does a 180 with them -- leaving us to wonder why we loved them in the first place. That's what they've done with Lulu, and they're also doing it with Gio.
  24. Daniel Goddard is 53 and looks good -- in clothes. No way should he be showing off that pasty white and not very buff body at the pool all the time. What are they doing when they have so many fine guys on this show? In other news, whoever styled Rocco's hair should be fired. It looked terrible.
  25. I get that. That's also why I don't think Smitty should have forced Martin out of the house.
