John, I read the same thing about them, and I also believe they’ll stick around GH for the time being. Yes, good young actors have left the show before for TV and movies, but these actors clearly want an education. GH can schedule them to make that work, while television and film wouldn’t be so accommodating. So yeah, you’re right about this.

That outdoor set has a ton of parts of one of the old Chancellor Park sets. The entire show is a bunch of scenes and no story — except for what took place off screen decades ago. Anything with potential just dies when nothing’s done with it. We get a good scene with strong dialogue occasionally, but that’s not good soap, because THERE’S NO STORY. I have never been so disgusted with this show.

Thomas’ total infatuation with Paris is bizarre and awkward and ridiculous. She added a pocket to one of his designs and he acts like she’s the new Donna Karan with a halo and religious music added. Pathetic.

Why can’t DAYS have even a modicum of the fun and energy of Beyond Salem? I really don’t get it. It’s like they were filmed on different planets.

Tanner played Finn having chemistry with Paris only in Paris’ fantasies. Seems like they dropped that storyline pronto. Thomas needs a love interest, but to me, Paris isn’t it. Besides the fact that writers are wrecking her character, she’s islanded — pretty much connected to no one.

I don’t think that ever happened. There’s no such contract.

The show was almost all exposition, and boring as hell.

Johnny’s singing is awful. That is the most annoying country voice I have ever heard. The guy is cute and hot as hell, but that singing is CRINGE.

Please read the other posts here and try to look at this with different eyes. The racial elements of this storyline are so in your face I don’t know what to say. You see the taboo element, so you DO see the black/white being played onscreen. Yet you can’t see who’s in control? Who has the money and the power? Who we’re told to care about? We NEVER hear what Carter wants and needs. We know what Eric wants and what Quinn needs. What does Carter — a man who can get any woman he wants — get out of this? The racist elements of this story are everywhere. Open your eyes. If you don’t see it here, I wonder where you do see it.

You’ve explained how I feel about the Carter, Quinn, and Eric storyline. Yes, John McCook should be incensed, but the racist elements of the story are so much worse. A wealthy white couple OWNS a black man to the point that the black man has to serve them? Follow orders? And notice that no one cares about Carter — how he feels, if he deserves love, if he wants a family. It’s disgusting and hideous. And as you said, now another black man is told to spy on the interracial relationship. It just won’t stop. I have been screaming about this story for weeks, and seeing Carter and Quinn together is no longer hot or fun or exciting. Soap media should be losing their minds about this storyline. I cannot believe it’s happening.

I didn’t like the way Maurice Benard played those scenes with Cynthia Watros. I thought he was too loud and overdoing all of it, and he was struggling to remember his lines.

Not gonna lie, Kyle Brandt is still sexy. He’s a great host on Good Morning Football 5 days a week on the NFL Network and always looks hot.

My favorite dialogue this week — on Monday and Tuesday— had Kayla saying she was going to the basement to make sure the emergency generators were running. Why call maintenance when an Emmy winner can do it?

I agree that the wedding was boring. There was so much potential there for drama, so many snide lines that could have been delivered. I can’t see them waiting until November for Sonny and Carly to see each other. That just won’t work.

You’re exactly right — there’s so little going on it’s not worth posting about. I won’t stop watching the show even though the stories are garbage and have been...I’m one of those viewers who explain the ratings. I see potential everywhere, but have ZERO faith that Josh Griffith will do anything with any of it. The discussion of Lily’s twins? Not a storyline. Nate as chief of surgery? Not a storyline. Elena on tv? Not a storyline. Amanda still has no storyline, and neither does Imani. Moses and Faith, no storyline. Mariah is sad and depressed so she and Tessa move into a Grand Phoenix hotel room? Huh? All of these people KNEW what they signed on for with that surrogate baby, but now they’re all surprised at their feelings??? Stupid ideas lead to stupid results. I sure can’t get lost in the sets and production design.

Screw them. And I think Deirdre has been fine, too. I think she’s intentionally holding back a bit as this story gets underway, and I don’t understand the criticism of her. Snoozy tawny Zach Tinker? Honey, work on your troll game. It’s in really bad shape.
