He started recurring, then was on contract for less than 5 months. His son, Kevin, was brought on as contract, but then fired 8 weeks after his debut, so based on that, it would seem the Cates storyline (whether with Richard or just his son Kevin) was scheduled to be longer than it ended up being. I did remember a post about that. I see I posted that in the 10/24/23 episode credits, his name was moved to recurring. But then it was immediately moved back to his same contract position in the credits. So, I just never changed anything in his stats.

ALEXANN HOPKINS JOINS "DAYS" CAST ON CONTRACT AS JOY WESLEY... AlexAnn Hopkins made her "Days" debut today, October 22, on contract, per today's credits. Hopkins made her TV debut on an "America's Most Wanted" reenactment in 2009. She has had guest stints on "The Goldbergs", "Speechless", "Chicago PD" and "Criminal Minds" as well as appearing as Trixie Dean on the CMT series "Sun Records" in 2017. Hopkins was born June 21, 1999 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. AL CALDERON JOINS "DAYS" CAST NEXT WEEK IN CONTRACT ROLE... Al Calderon will make his "Days" debut next Monday, October 28 in a TBA role. Jason47 has confirmed with a "Days" spokesperson that Calderon is on contract. Calderon's first claim to fame was as the third place finalist on "The X Factor" in 2013. He has since appeared as Edison Cruz in the 2018 Snapchat series "The Dead Girls Detective Agency", as well as guest stints on "Law & Order: SVU", "Person of Interest", "The Resident", "The Haves and the Have Nots", "The Walking Dead: World Beyond" and "Grotesquerie."Alberto Calderon was born February 22, 1994 in New York City.

I had to purchase 1985-1990 in order to get the scene logs for those years, so yes, I had to go through those. 1965-1984 come from the scripts.

Yes, that's my first-ever memory of Days! I remember Monty pulling the plug on Rosa in her hospital room, that's the first scene I can remember seeing live on TV. I guess I was home sick from school that day. I had watched very briefly in the summer of 1988 (no memory of those episodes), more consistently in the summer of 1989, and finally started full time in summer of 1990.

Michael Bays was Julio. A lot of fans didn't think that. When Billy Hufsey was first fired in 1989, Days got so much fan mail demanding he be brought back, that he was immediately re-hired and back on the air 3 months later.

Since it was also on NBC, I guess that was the reason they allowed him out of his Days contract: 4/28/90 newspaper article: "Michael T. Weiss (Mike) may not return to Days of Our Lives. He has joined the cast of NBC's two-hour movie pilot for the revival of Dark Shadows."

That wasn't supposed to be his exit. He was supposed to come back. He stayed in the contract cast list for several months, but then ended up not coming back.
