  1. Soaps are in their twilight years so I’d rather they go out written by people who understand their shows. That’s why Griffith needs to be replaced immediately, lol
  2. Thank you for posting this. That’s a fair point. Seems he was content to golf and compose his music while Alarr did whatever he wanted with no oversight.
  3. The January episodes were filmed last summer. I believe she was still filming after Alarr was fired, probably up until this January when her contract expired. I don’t think he cares. His kids aren’t going to take over the show, so it’ll end for good once he decides to retire. I think he just wants Days to reach 60. Alarr was the scab head writer so I suspect that and the investigation into him led him to write out Nicole and the others.
  4. Sarah J. Brown would be even better…
  5. I always loved Deidre’s special credit. She should have asked for that back, along with her old dressing room with the bathroom, when she returned in 2011.
  6. There’s a video online, I think from the SoapNet days, of Alarr directing a love scene between Nadia Bjorlin and Jay Kenneth Johnson from around 2008. Alarr gets on top of Nadia on the bed. It’s a very uncomfortable watch. Sorry I don’t have the clip but it should be on YouTube. Her contract ended in January 2024. In October 2023, she attempted to begin negotiations to renew her expiring contract. I believe negotiations begin with at least three months remaining on a contract. Plus the Days cast wanted Sonja to replace Alarr. I suspect Drucker was, maybe still is, an Alarr lackey. I don’t expect much from her regime.
  7. Arianne Zucker is out at Days. Her contract expired last month after the show refused to negotiate with her. Now she is suing Corday Productions. https://www.tmz.com/2024/02/07/arianne-zucker-sues-days-of-our-lives-sexual-harassment-discrimination/?adid=social-tw
  8. Maybe Sheffer was good at ATWT, I don’t know, I didn’t watch that soap, but he was toxic for Days.
  9. I’m tired of dumb scriptwriters making egregious errors because of their incompetence. An example at Days would be anytime the dialogue suggests Patch and Kayla were around in the 90s and 00s for big events like the possession, Susan, Salem Stalker, etc. Do some research or don’t have a job.
  10. I’m expecting a Nicole recast soon I wonder if this is retaliation for bringing these issues to light last year.
  11. Old-school characters are likely not returning. Days can only have twelve characters per episode. Starting with his close family you have Julie, Hope, Bo, Shawn, Ciara, Ben, Claire, Eli, Lani, and Scotty. That leaves room for only two more characters in the episode and it would likely be Jennifer (Missy) and Jack.
  12. New-to-daytime writers don’t know the history of the show or its characters which leads to continuity errors and flat-out inaccuracies. That’s why Days’ breakdown writers, script writers, and script editor need to be shown the door ASAP.
  13. Hopefully Jason Cook too. It’ll be at least six months from now, so August at the earliest. More likely the autumn.
  14. She was filling in for Higley. Josh Griffith was responsible for all that darkness. If not for her, I never would have gotten Matt Ashford back for those four Ghost Jack episodes. She was also the interim head writer between JER and Sheffer (unless you believe [S.W.S.N.B.N.], who says it was her), and she did a great job wrapping up JER’s stories as well as giving Jack and Jennifer an excellent exit story and sendoff. I’d love for Beth to return to Days as Ron’s co-head writer.
  15. Sheri Anderson was not the head writer although she was one of the scab writers. If anyone was head writer, it was Albert Alarr. I am surprised GH was able to get rid of Dan and Chris so soon after the strike.
  16. I agree with everyone but Diane. She’s recurring and barely airs. I like the spice she brings to all her scenes.
  17. How did Jensen think she could do two different soaps on two different networks on two different coasts?
  18. I know Vicky and Marley weren’t identical at the end but couldn’t ATWT just have had Ellen Wheeler play Vicky and hand wave away Marley’s plastic surgery?
  19. That’s interesting. I also would love to know what the real plan was. Joe Mascolo was on B&B at the time but they owed two episodes of Joe to Days due to the swap deal in 2002 that allowed Lauren Koslow to briefly return to B&B. Ultimately it never happened and Joe eventually returned to Days full time. I had hoped B&B would lend Darin Brooks or Krista Allen but they’re both out now. Maybe Darin will return full time. So yeah, Stefano/Joe could have returned briefly for this story. Early on in the story, after Bo and Hope were attacked but before Abe was murdered, Stefano’s name was shown scrawled in blood at Salem Place.
  20. Melaswen was a retcon. The dead characters were supposed to stay dead but unfortunately Corday forced JER to bring them all back because he wanted his pals (Reynolds, Rogers, Taylor) back on the show.
  21. How does Kin not know who Obrecht is? This sounds like the situation at Days only this time ASJ is Missy Reeves and Burton, Hennessy, etc are Koslow, Hogestyn, and Sweeney.
  22. I don’t see how ATWT intended to win over AW fans by killing off Vicky. It’s interesting to note that AW, Texas, Somerset, ATWT, B&B, GL, and Y&R all take place in the same fictional universe. It doesn’t get as much attention as ABC’s soap world.
  23. Tom Langan was a very good EP. The show’s production values were excellent under Langan. Sets looked professional rather than made by a high school drama club. Cameras actually moved. There was ambient sound. Better lighting. Better wardrobe. Plus, his first year as head writer was great. I’d love to have him back at Days in some capacity.
  24. Burton feels the same way. Both are MAGA psychos.
