  1. Thank you for answering. Since Corday Productions owns part of Y&R they should work out a deal allowing Eileen to appear 2-3 times a month on Days.
  2. Days sued her for breach of contract a year after she left because she attempted to join B&B as Kristen Forrester while still bound by the terms of her Days contract. I’m referring to the poster who thinks NBCUniversal can buy out Sony when Sony doesn’t actually own any piece of Days. Does Liberty have you on ignore? I can’t imagine suing your former employer and then returning to work there.
  3. Does anyone know if Corday Productions still owns 1% of the Y&R?
  4. Soaps aren’t a genre. They’re a medium.
  5. Sony doesn’t own any part of Days of our Lives. Never has. The union does not appear to care about soap actors. They look down on them.
  6. I feel so bad for Ari. She’s been with Days for 22.5 of the past 26 years and this is how her career there ends. I hope another soap scoops her up. Maybe GH as Sarah Webber?
  7. Ohhhh okay. I looked at the defendants and didn’t see Sony.
  8. I agree that Corday was right to sue her. He has a soft spot for her which is why he brought her back a few years later. I wouldn’t be surprised if Scott Reeves was controlling her career at that point. He was on Y&R at the time and I suspect he wanted her on B&B since it films at the same studio, thus allowing him to keep an eye on him. Days actually tried to bring her back sooner than 2000. Matt Ashford was approached to return but it was squashed when Missy declined to return (this comes from a fan who heard it from Matt at a fan event). If Missy hadn’t returned in 2000 we never would have gotten Matt back, and he’s my favourite Days actor.
  9. Corday likes Missy and chose not to sue her until he really had to, which came a year after her exit. Perhaps she thought she was no longer bound to those terms. I love Missy’s Jennifer but Corday was right to sue her when she tried to join Bold (likely at her creepy husband’s behest). I do too. In fact, she’s probably already been recast.
  10. Ari will air into June/July. The resolution of the baby switch is probably the first thing Ron wrote after the strike.
  11. Ken owns the show. I don’t think he intends for it to continue after he retires. His kids are not interested in the family business.
  12. They probably had scripts prepared for Nicole assuming Ari would accept their terms. If that’s the case, someone has probably already assumed the role. I don’t think the show was ever intended to continue after its 60th season.
  13. The key phrase there is that Days sued Missy, Missy didn’t sue Days. Ari is suing Days. And they wouldn’t have sued Missy at all until she started negotiating with B&B a year later while still legally bound by the terms of her Days contract.
  14. Sony is not involved in this lawsuit in any way.
  15. I’ve never said I wanted Eileen back full time. Her characters work best when they pop in and out. Susan and Sister Mary Moira should appear once or twice a month. Kristen, as a villain, should come in every so often for short arcs. Keeping her in town ruins her effectiveness as a villain. Also, Eileen was willing to stick around in 2013 with a one-episode-a-week contract but Days didn’t go for it. Personally I think her eight-episode stint as Susan and cameos from her other characters in 2017 was better than the entire year they had her. You know, when they wasted her. Also, Eileen was going to return for Shoot the Bride in 2018 but Y&R blocked her. It’s not Eileen’s fault that her roles were recast. Days should have used Orpheus instead of recasting. I know the initial Laura recast flopped. That’s why they created Marlena. I looooved Jaime Lyn Bauer as Laura. Corday definitely needs to be held accountable. If he doesn’t want to run Days, why not sell it to Peacock/NBC-Universal? His kids don’t want to run the family business so the show will have no choice but to end when he retires.
  16. She initiated the negotiation in October, not Days. What makes you think it won’t be resolved by summer? She may win the lawsuit and rightfully so but there’s no way Days will rehire an actress who sued them. They will recast to spite her. You know those sex scenes heavily involved Alarr, right? It’s extremely annoying that they made the Spectator a thing after Matt and Missy were written out. We JnJ fans had been begging for a big Spectator story for years. She’s not suing Sony. She’s suing Corday Productions and Albert Alarr. Sony does not own even a portion of Days of our Lives.
  17. They should never have recast those roles and they never would have in the past, especially Eileen’s or they would have in the 14 years she wasn’t on the show. Unfortunately, most of the audience is braindead somehow thinks dog food like Haiduk is on a par with Eileen’s filet mignon. Thankfully, most of the audience has come to their senses and have had enough of that recast. They never would have recast Jennifer if they hadn’t been given permission by viewers. Disagree. Those people never flawlessly played five different roles. The idea that Haiduk is on a par with Eileen is frankly insulting. They brought Reckell back as soon as they could but we’ve been stuck with the awful Eileen recast for six neverending years. Fans should have rejected that recast. Now Days feels they are able to get away with recasting Nicole.
  18. No. They rarely recast big roles and would go back to the original as soon as they could. It’s been six years and Eileen still hasn’t been able to reclaim her roles. I don’t know them. Before my time. Before I was even alive! One of the court documents alleges that a female Days cast member made a comment about “dirty Jews”. My guess? Camila Banus or Lauren Koslow.
  19. Don’t forget his recitals 😅
  20. She’s about a dozen years too young for the role but I wouldn’t put it past them. They (mis)cast Linsey Godfrey as Sarah Horton after all.
  21. Are they given access to old episodes? They should. I’m just so tired of the egregious errors in Days’ scripts but that’s likely due to the incompetence of Fran Myers who should’ve been shown the door years ago.
  22. Do they give new writers access to classic episodes so they can actually learn the history of the characters and the show? Imagine some dumb new writer coming in and writing a line where Laura says Luke was her first husband. That’s the kind of worry I have with outsiders.
  23. More info from Deadline with statements from Days and Alarr: https://deadline.com/2024/02/days-of-our-lives-vet-arianne-zucker-alleges-sexual-harassment-in-lawsuit-against-corday-prods-1235818161/ The court documents: https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/FSCC-Arianne-Zucker-Complaint.pdf I can’t see Ari ever returning. They will recast the role to spite her. Unfortunately, fans embracing the awful Kristen/Susan recast gave the show the ammunition to recast big roles like Jennifer and to a lesser extent Gabi. What do you have against Emily?
  24. What I mean is, I don’t think he was fired. His contract expired and they chose not to renew it. I consider that a little different from a firing but YMMV. I guess it became clear to them that they weren’t going to get Charlotte Ross back so they cut their losses. Charlotte Ross was in talks with Days to return last year but they couldn’t come to terms so they ended up bringing back the recast for one episode instead.
  25. Steve Burton had a one-year contract. Days simply didn’t renew it. It was Alarr who wanted Burton all along. I’ve seen people wondering if AnnaLynne McCord is a Nicole recast. She’s too young for the role but that has never stopped Days *coughLinseyGodfreycough*
