  1. Exactly! A good soap is a balance of characters from all generations, and you need younger characters to be developed for the future of the show. I mean...everyone on this show is over 40 (or close to it) except maybe Claire, Kyle, Audra....who else??? And as someone else mentioned, they could use this money to finally build some new sets. I like RH overall, but I bet Y&R could have hired at least five younger actors for what they're going to pay him. This show needs new blood...STAT.
  2. This show is more and more becoming The Middle-Aged and the Restless. There is basically ZERO young on the show anymore. I mean, who's the "youngest" character....Claire????
  3. LSV is easily the hottest guy on this show, and Carter gets portrayed as this sad sack who's going around trying to get someone...anyone...to marry him! In the real world, Carter would have been snatched up eons ago. But, hey, we get Brooke and Taylor easily acting as if Ridge is God's gift to every woman on Earth.
  4. There's so much wrong with this storyline and how offensive it is. I just read the recaps to see how low they'll go. Yay, to round 1,458 to Liam and Hope again. Yawn! Are new characters and new stories forbidden in the writing room at B&B???
  5. This 1000%. Ridge has become so un-rootable with his waffling between Brooke and Taylor. It's also made both women look like doormats with zero self-esteem. I'm a long-time Brooke and KKL fan, but the constant throwing herself at Ridge the past few years has made her just look like a sad sack. Ridge is not Brooke's "destiny." He's the toxic albatross around her neck. I've been watching season 1 on Tubi which I never saw as a teen back in the day. The writing is downright AMAZING compared to what we get now, and Brooke is an intelligent woman who's just graduated from college with a degree in chemistry. Sure, she wants to climb up the social ladder, but she still has a backbone, too. Brooke and KKL had much more chemistry with Bill and DD. Either pair them again, or...just hear me out...bring on a brand-new character without story baggage for days! How refreshing would that be.
  6. Personally, I think they need to bring back the Forrester Creations employee gym. It was a great excuse to have the men shirtless. If the stories are going to be horrible, they can at least give us eye candy.
  7. It would have been great if they could have gotten at least one new restaurant or coffeehouse set. Having Deacon's be the ONLY place in LA to eat has gotten old.
  8. I recently watched the entire series much of it for the first time on streaming. Season 8 and 9 where such dramatic shifts from the rest of the show. I thought both seasons had intriguing ideas, but the execution was off. Exploring the lives of the workers, the have-nots, at the vineyard could have been a fresh new take with new storyline directions. But Season 8 was often soooooooo slow, and I struggled to finish it. Season 7 had been pretty fun, and then to get this serious earnest drama, it was just so off and not fun at all. Plus, killing off Melissa was a HUGE mistake. Really bad judgement. The whole season should have been Angela fighting to get Falcon Crest back from Melissa. They could have done a Melissa/Lance/Pilar triangle for the season as well. Season 9, especially the first 13 episodes, had some fun parts. I often enjoyed some of the gothic feel and dark humor. Jane Wyman having to go MIA left a big hole, and then much of the second half of the season, we ended up with only a handful of characters and often just one storyline. I guess they tired the best they could without Jane Wyman and an obvious budget slash. I'm glad Angela was able to return for the last couple of episodes to at least make it feel a little bit like Falcon Crest for the end.
  9. This story is disgusting on so many levels. Are we supposed to believe that it was okay because Will is a guy and guy's always want to no matter what? It's so offensive. And, they'll never deal with what the real aftermath would be. All this to...keep Luna on the show???
  10. I've been completely over Ridge FOR YEARS. I don't get these two women throwing themselves at him. For what??? He's a wishy-washy, non-committal narcissist. I don't see the appeal...at all! I've thought Ridge dying would be a way to help reset the show and free both Brooke and Taylor once and for all from that mess of a man.
  11. We'll see if they actually get around to do this. The show has desperately needed the have-nots again that are trying to claw their way up.
  12. There is so much ICK with this story.
  13. Oh, God... Are they really recycling the Brooke/Oliver wearing masks hook-up from years ago? It makes ZERO sense for people to wear masks. It's not HALLOWEEN!!!
  14. I ended up loving Santa Barbara back in the day. For a few years there it was some of the best writing on television, in general. But, that first year was ROUGH. I recently watched the first few months on YouTube. The show was all over the place. Do we have any idea why the show cast such a young actress to play Peaches? It just doesn't make sense unless they plan on using her again as a younger character for some reason.
  15. Ugh...more of who's going to work where again.
  16. ITA. Ted has had virtually no interaction with Martin to the point where I forget that they're even related at times. What is Martin's relationship with his dad? How does Martin feel about his marriage being in trouble like his parents' marriage? Has Martin even talked to Nicole about the break-up of his parents' marriage? It's a glaring omission.
  17. I mean, I sort of get where Ted is coming from. It did happen decades ago, and he seems to have been a great husband since. Sure, Nicole should be upset, but divorce... But... On the other hand, Nicole has zero chemistry with NuTed, and I would much rather see her get into a hot new romance with Michael from Dynasty!
  18. ITA. As devoted fans, we love to pick apart the show, but we also LOVE the show! One thing I'm thankful for when it comes to this message board is I can talk about and discuss soaps with people who love them as much as I do.
  19. ITA. In one episode, that character had more spark than this whole time with Derek.
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing where this twist goes and seeing Leslie taking on Anita. For me, the show has been pretty entertaining on a regular basis lately.
  21. Oh, that could be interesting. Honestly, my first thought was Anita with Leslie being the child she gave up for adoption before meeting Vernon. That would be a fun mess to watch play out!
  22. I wonder what the purpose of casting such of a much younger actress to play Peaches was. As soon as I saw her, I knew the actress was younger than the one playing Leslie!
  23. I only read the recap of today, and the only reason I can think of that Luna is STILL around is that BB just doesn't have any idea of what else to do. I mean, he sort of had a chance to make her a somewhat viable character again after Bill got her set free. But, fast forward and she shot more people. Where could they possible take her at this point? What the hell is left? I feel bad for the actress as I think she really has talent. I so wish they just would have made her an interesting bad girl without resorting to the murders of Hollis and that other dude. But, now she's written into a corner with no place really viable to go.
  24. Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking about who Leslie's mother may be??? Because THAT would be fire!
  25. To be fair, since this show can't come up with a new story idea for anything, it was only a matter of time before Thomas showed up again and started obsessing over Hope. I actually liked MA as an actor and hoped he would have ended up on another show where he had more of a chance.
