B&B: Casting News
I always thought this character should come back at some point...maybe to upend Hope's life. Anything for a story that hasn't been already told for a thousand times!

And, shouldn't Brooke (I know this is asking for a lot) at least be like, "You were just engaged to someone else five minutes ago. Maybe we should give it a few days/ weeks/months before doing this to make sure we're both ready." But, nope. The doormat Brooke married that fickle misogynistic a-hole who's dumped her more times that she can count all over again just so he can do it ALL OVER AGAIN in a few months. It's downright offensive at this point. I. Just. Don't. Get. It. Does he have a "magic tool?" What is it?

Poor Brooke, once such a fiery character and one of my all time faves, has been reduced to Ridge's doormat. God, I soooo want her to tell him to go shove it!

OMG, right?! When he and Smitty were walking up the stairs, I was like...damn. Of course, the way it was staged when they fell on the bed...Martin is the top, I guess. I know that's a generalization, but...

That's my guess, too. Welcome to modern day B&B, just about 25 years late, especially for a show that takes place in THE FASHION INDUSTRY in LOS ANGELES.

I think Theo's ASD may have gone the way of Phillip's one leg...forgotten about.

Could it be possible for a preview to sound any more boring??? Ridge between Brooke and Taylor? Liam deciding he wants Hope back? Luna doing something crazy? Wow...not like we haven't seen all of this a thousand times over.

They also could have gone back and started the airing the Daytime Emmy in the DAYTIME again, like they used to do back in the day.

Those would be fascinating to read! Where did you read the oral histories of Ryan's Hope, etc...?

ARTICLE: ‘The Young And The Restless’ Star Michelle Stafford Looks Forward To Working With Former ‘General Hospital’ Co-Stars
I thought GT was AMAZING as Phyllis, and it was the first time I actually liked the character. She breathed new life in the part and made the character actually interesting and rootable. Now, when I do tune in, I find the character so annoying and played out. Saying this as a person who is over 50, the last thing this show needed was two more stars over the age of fifty that, I'm sure, are costing the show bank in salary. There is no "Young" in the show anymore. The money used on their salaries could have probably paid for 5 to 6 new actors in their late teens/early 20s to shore up that generation.

As whacked out as it is, I kind of love Leslie getting the house. She's such a mess. I love her!

Especially B&B...a show about FASHION that takes place in LOS ANGELES but has zero gay characters. I won't even go into the lack of any Latino characters for a show that is based in LA. B&B just feels more and more out of step from the times.

I agree that the acting with the Chelsea/Alison/Madison story is what's making it land a bit flat. I applaud the show for having so many LGBT+ characters! My mom, who had never seen the show before, caught some of this week's episodes, and the one thing she commented on was the acting. The actors playing Chelsea and Alison, especially, are still a bit green. Chelsea has gotten better as the show has progressed, but this story has been a lot all of a sudden for her to carry. The other Dupree girls just come off as much more natural.

Anybody else think the show will eventually move towards a Cat/Jacob pairing? They definitely have more chemistry that Cat/Tomas and Jacob/Naomi.

Y&R: Longtime daytime actor joins in new 'mystery role'
Exactly! A good soap is a balance of characters from all generations, and you need younger characters to be developed for the future of the show. I mean...everyone on this show is over 40 (or close to it) except maybe Claire, Kyle, Audra....who else??? And as someone else mentioned, they could use this money to finally build some new sets. I like RH overall, but I bet Y&R could have hired at least five younger actors for what they're going to pay him. This show needs new blood...STAT.

LSV is easily the hottest guy on this show, and Carter gets portrayed as this sad sack who's going around trying to get someone...anyone...to marry him! In the real world, Carter would have been snatched up eons ago. But, hey, we get Brooke and Taylor easily acting as if Ridge is God's gift to every woman on Earth.

There's so much wrong with this storyline and how offensive it is. I just read the recaps to see how low they'll go. Yay, to round 1,458 to Liam and Hope again. Yawn! Are new characters and new stories forbidden in the writing room at B&B???

This 1000%. Ridge has become so un-rootable with his waffling between Brooke and Taylor. It's also made both women look like doormats with zero self-esteem. I'm a long-time Brooke and KKL fan, but the constant throwing herself at Ridge the past few years has made her just look like a sad sack. Ridge is not Brooke's "destiny." He's the toxic albatross around her neck. I've been watching season 1 on Tubi which I never saw as a teen back in the day. The writing is downright AMAZING compared to what we get now, and Brooke is an intelligent woman who's just graduated from college with a degree in chemistry. Sure, she wants to climb up the social ladder, but she still has a backbone, too. Brooke and KKL had much more chemistry with Bill and DD. Either pair them again, or...just hear me out...bring on a brand-new character without story baggage for days! How refreshing would that be.

Personally, I think they need to bring back the Forrester Creations employee gym. It was a great excuse to have the men shirtless. If the stories are going to be horrible, they can at least give us eye candy.

It would have been great if they could have gotten at least one new restaurant or coffeehouse set. Having Deacon's be the ONLY place in LA to eat has gotten old.

Falcon Crest
I recently watched the entire series much of it for the first time on streaming. Season 8 and 9 where such dramatic shifts from the rest of the show. I thought both seasons had intriguing ideas, but the execution was off. Exploring the lives of the workers, the have-nots, at the vineyard could have been a fresh new take with new storyline directions. But Season 8 was often soooooooo slow, and I struggled to finish it. Season 7 had been pretty fun, and then to get this serious earnest drama, it was just so off and not fun at all. Plus, killing off Melissa was a HUGE mistake. Really bad judgement. The whole season should have been Angela fighting to get Falcon Crest back from Melissa. They could have done a Melissa/Lance/Pilar triangle for the season as well. Season 9, especially the first 13 episodes, had some fun parts. I often enjoyed some of the gothic feel and dark humor. Jane Wyman having to go MIA left a big hole, and then much of the second half of the season, we ended up with only a handful of characters and often just one storyline. I guess they tired the best they could without Jane Wyman and an obvious budget slash. I'm glad Angela was able to return for the last couple of episodes to at least make it feel a little bit like Falcon Crest for the end.
