  1. I don't even think it was merely him cheating; it's been established Bill had cheated before, but it was bringing it into the home she shared with him and with Hayley specifically that drove her to this Betty Broderick-level of behaviour. It's fully believable; at the launch of the serial, according to Karla Mosley, it'd only been six months since the divorce had been finalised.
  2. At least you saw a countdown; I did not even notice one. So messy. Still praying, like with Dynasty, it comes back.
  3. It may be cliché, but someone I'm close to says it has happened in his lifetime, so it is true to life in some aspects.
  4. After a brief of a reprieve, Falcon Crest is now locked on Prime Video as a purchase-only option.
  5. Damn; must've happened in the last 12 hours, because I was watching season eight Thursday/Friday. An absolute mess.
  6. I just think it's going to take more than one returning former actor from a previous era to bring audiences back in. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  7. Bringing Brenda back won't cure what's wrong with this soap, especially in 2025.
  8. I don't think she's needed at all, in that way, right now; I'm willing to sacrifice Brenda (sorry @carolineg) for the exit of Sonny. Maybe, down the line, she can return with the news of Sonny's death, and settle back in Port Charles. But Sonny's got to go. It's overdue at this point.
  9. Should've just stuck with the Matt Borlenghi plans for 2009. Hell, even Vincent Irizarry would have been a better villain for Valentin than James Patrick Stuart has been, and that's no slight on Stuart. He's a fine actor, but not for Valentin.
  10. It'd be cute to have Vanessa do "video chat calls" like Jess Walton on Y&R, with Brenda on GH, instead; I think that'd be interesting and cool, but the thirteen-week cycle would be for Benard's long-ass overdue exit as Sonny Corinthos. It's time.
  11. BUT! The premiere date was removed by the time production was due to begin; it went from "January 2025" to "early 2025," so it's clear plans were changed from April to October 2025. 😉 Either way, I think pushing back to February from January was smart. And I fully disagree about the cliffhanger thing; Thursday's didn't feel like a Friday ending, and I didn't see any issue in how yesterday's ended, at all.
  12. Not that I am aware; his Disney show was canceled, but again, ABC is Disney-owned, so that wasn't so much an issue. I think Valentin was rightly rested and shouldn't have been brought back at all. His return was not needed, especially as a recurring player. To get rid of Maurice Benard (Sonny), yes, I would! One contract cycle of thirteen weeks, and done.
  13. I don't believe it's production issues; I think it was smart allowing them to bank a third month's worth of episodes, and allowing them to have more time to settle into a proper working groove (a.k.a. not rushing anyone). It was smart, in my eyes. Plus, with the inauguration, it avoided some potential preemptions that could have easily happened.
  14. Valentin is less of an issue as a recurring character; he easily could be written out, or never been written back into the show; it wouldn't have been a problem. At all. We were rid of him until TPTB felt it was time to bring him and his mistake back onto the canvas, and now we're saddled with them again.
  15. I'd really try and cut the contract in half, take some recurring veterans and up them in status, and build around that. Gotta strip it down to re-build, which I know goes against Douglas Marland's essential rules, but at this point, this soap needs to be completely deconstructed.
  16. It wasn't speculation; when the series was announced (as The Gates) in April 2025, it was slated for a January 2025 premiere. And this was back when only Michele Val Jean was announced as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. By July, per @Soap Opera Network, the writers' room was "set".
  17. Finola Hughes deserves a co-star that can match her. Been saying this for years; yes, it'd be another crossover, but it's one that would actually make sense.
  18. And I'd have to disagree. The idea of Andre/Ashley, to me, is more alluring than Andre/Eva would ever be.
  19. Did we have to be reminded of those two specifically? 🤣🤣
  20. Except "auntie Dani" isn't blood related, while Eva as of right now (per Dana) is blood-related, via Ted.
  21. Anna has had so many better pairings than Valentin.
  22. Absolutely; now that would be a (excuse the pun) killer storyline. The unhinged housewife that supported and built up the man that got ditched for the younger version of her.
