  1. U.S. agency investigates Nike for alleged discrimination against white workers (the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has been distorted into doing that)

  3. I don't know if that directly has anything to do with anything but ...
  4. Steve Burton and his wife Michelle Lundstrom are (or were) friends with Jonathan Jackson and his wife Lisa Vultaggio. The Burton/Lundstrom wedding last year was at an Eastern Orthodox Christian church. JJ and Lisa are longtime members of the Eastern Orthodox church. I was looking at all four of their instagrams around the time Burton married and prior months. Per the ig and some wedding articles, JJ (and maybe Lisa) was/were members of the Burton/Lundstrom wedding party in some sort of mentor role specific to the Orthodox tradition.
  5. Testimony at a City Council hearing regarding a new ICE facility (concentration camp) -- building recently purchased by the federal government in the city of Surprise, Arizona (yes the city is named Surprise) "I'd like to share a story from a local paper in Coldwater, Michigan dated to the 9th of April, 1945. It tells how the US Army, under General Patton--the US 3rd Army--came onto what you might call a detention center just outside the village of Ohrdruf, Germany. The US Army brought the leading citizens of Ohrdruf to tour the facility, which turned out to be part of the Buchenwald network of concentration camps. A US Army colonel told the German civilians who viewed the scenes, without muttering a word, that they were to blame. One of the Germans replied that what happened in the camp was (quote) 'done by a few people, and you cannot blame us all.' And the American, who could have been any one of our grandfathers, said, 'this was done by those that the German people chose to lead them, and all are responsible.' The morning after the tour, the Mayor of Ohrdruf killed himself. And maybe he did not know the full extent of the outrages that were committed in his community, but he knew enough. And we don't know exactly how ICE will use this warehouse. But we know enough. I ask you to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf might have thought before he died. Maybe he felt like a victim. He might have thought, 'how is this my fault? I have no jurisdiction over this.' Maybe he would have said, 'this site was not subject to local zoning, what could I do?' But I think, when he reflected on the suffering that occurred at this camp, just outside of town, that those words would have sounded hollow even to him. Because in his heart he knew--as we do--that we are all responsible for what happens in our community. I urge the council to take action to stop, or stall, or at the barest minimum to think creatively about how to exercise oversight over this proposed ICE facility. Thank you." 11. Tr*mp via FBI and Tulsi Gabbard, too, taking the 2020 ballots from Georgia. In one video, Fulton police and the FBI spar over the search warrant to seize the 2020 ballots. "One way or another, the records are coming with us today," an agent said. The AJC article is subscription-only but AJC's video is here: The AJC vid is the first 2 minutes of this msnow youtube. (the rest of that youtube is talking heads discussing)
  12. ‬this bsky account Alissa Azar‬ ‪@alissaazar.bsky.social has more horrifying video from Portland OR yesterday, but I cannot bear to post it all. At first she said that the gassing of the protesters was so huge that “People were choking on gas over 6 blocks away.” But then the gassing happened in other locations in the city: She said: "People all over Portland, Oregon were impacted by the chemical warfare deployed by the feds tonight. Here’s a thread of some Portlanders experiences who weren’t even at the protest" She basically said that many places in Portland were affected by the gassing, even people who were not attending the protests. Children, animals, everyone was affected. A hospital ! "They gassed people downtown who were at work and in their homes, over 1.5 miles away from the ICE facility" "They teargassed a woman and her dog who were out on a walk" "They gassed a bus driver and people riding the bus." "They gassed people who were driving around the city" Click to read the entire thread in one post here https://tbsky.app/profile/alissaazar.bsky.social/post/3mdu6bqnqr22o

  15. I watched the first two episodes on the night they dropped. I was tired because it was the middle of the night, but liked them. Haven't had time to watch since then. I'm going to go back and watch episodes 1 and 2 again when I'm awake. Then I need to get caught up to see #3 and 4. I guess I'll have a trek binge day. Tawny Newsome is on the writing staff for Starfleet Academy. She was the voice actor for the lead ensign Beckett Mariner on Star Trek: Lower Decks. The first six episodes of Starfleet Academy were previewed to some of the press earlier in January. No actual spoilers but various reviewers seem to agree that episode 5 is really great. The only spoiler hint for episode 5 is just a hint (spoiler hint) a hint or some reference to DS9 and possibly a reference to Sisko in an unusual way? Even the reviewers who saw it won't say more than that so I have no idea! Tawny Newsome is credited as one of the writers of episode 5. That's coming this week, so I'm curious!
