  1. That is my assumption/speculation, too.
  2. https://www.instagram.com/p/CzKbkZHvssi/ stephen_e_nichols This is something I was hoping I would not have to write about, another young man taken. A sweet natured man. An Ohio boy like me. A man who had his demons — another thing we had in common. A young man I called son for the early part of our time together. Not this one! Tyler and I met when I visited his dressing room on the day he was about to camera test for the role of Nikolas Cassadine, my “son/nephew” on General Hospital. We went over the scene a few times. He was very green and eager, and he had a kind of grace and a connection to the heart of the material that was special. I felt connected to him immediately. I can’t say enough about the beauty of Tyler Christopher’s work. He was an actor who was all instinct and spontaneity. It seemed effortless for him. I knew I wanted to work with him. I knew he would make me better. Our Journey on GH spanned around seven years. In the beginning, he asked for advice, and I offered Michael Chekov’s Book, To The Actor, which had inspired me when I was starting out. Tyler gave so much to every scene. We connected in a deep way and lifted each other up. I know he was proud of the work he did even though he continued to look to me for approval. I reassured him that he was “there” and to keep doing what he was doing. I called him “Baby Brando”. He always laughed about that, but I wasn’t joking. I can only imagine how much more could have been. I know that over the years Tyler had addiction issues. I understood and told him so. We talked about it and checked in over the years but never really got deep into the subject of recovery. I regret that. When I asked how he was doing, he would generally say, “good…fine.” Some 20 years later, after several nominations, Tyler stood on that stage, with his Emmy in hand, and held up the book I had given him. I was thrilled for him, and so touched and honored that he had mentioned our early connection. (Continued in comment) ---------- Link to comment: ttps://www.instagram.com/p/CzKbkZHvssi/c/17963376866512147/ Comment: stephen_e_nichols – continued I had heard about Tyler’s troubles during his time on General Hospital. I checked in with him and he assured me he was fine. In 2017, a few months before he started on Days of Our Lives, Tyler called and asked if he could meet me for lunch. He flew in from the Midwest. He told me he had been having a hard time and he was now sober and working to stay that way. He said needed to take care of his kids and he needed a job. I advocated for him, and it took a while, but he finally came over to Days. As usual, Tyler was doing remarkable work, but I could tell that he was unsettled. Again, when I asked how he was doing he said he was good. Looking back, I now know he wasn't. My own family was affected by addiction and alcoholism. I have been fortunate to have survived all these years. I don’t take it for granted, and this great loss of this sweet man reminds me of how important it is to reach out to others who are suffering with these demons. I know how desperately Tyler loved his children and wanted to be with them and provide for them. When we met, they were all he could talk about. I hope that his children and family members, friends, those who are feeling this great loss will, with the passage of time, find peace. My heart aches, but all I wish for now, sweet Tyler, is that you are finally at peace. We won’t soon forget you.
  3. Rikaart is appearing on Y&R for just a Thanksgiving episode. SOD likes to sensationalize its covers. And I guess this will be one of the last print issues?
  4. November 2, 2023 Climate budget issues on the House floor right now.... Republicans propose a 39% cut to the EPA, all while undermining efforts to curb CO2 emissions. The National Park Service is among the most popular government agencies, fueling local economies across the country while bringing people and families together. So what do House Republicans want to do? Gut it, slashing their funding by almost half a BILLION dollars. In a little more than five years – sometime in early 2029 – the world will likely be unable to stay below the internationally agreed temperature limit for global warming if it continues to burn fossil fuels at its current rate, a new study says. https://apnews.com/article/warming-carbon-climate-change-too-late-943b4b34bff5110631c2e02f5cdf7d68 And right now, House Republicans are forcing a vote on a bill that guts climate funding and will make our planet uninhabitable. It's almost as if they're trying to inflict the most damage possible on our environment. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree @chelliepingree I am on the House floor pushing back on 131 ‼️ extreme Republican amendments to the 2024 interior appropriations bill. I’ll be leading this debate for @HouseDemocrats even if it goes past midnight. Watch here (and send coffee)! ☕️ Rep. Betty McCollum @BettyMcCollum04 Republicans’ extreme FY 24 Interior-Environment funding bill makes devastating cuts that would severely impact our ability to combat climate change—affecting not only the health & safety of all our communities, but also putting the U.S. at a global disadvantage.
  5. JJ's is in full at the top of previous page. https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/65391-tyler-christopher-has-passed/?do=findComment&comment=1877034 I posted Constance Towers' one minute before you did, just above yours, so we were posting at same time.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/ActressConstanceTowers/photos/841435974648161 Actress Constance Towers Remembering #TylerChristopher... "Tyler Christopher played my grandson, Nikolas, on #gh for many years. My character, Helena Cassadine is lethal, evil, without compassion for anyone... except her grandson. She only makes a mistake when a decision concerns Nikolas, her Achilles heel. The joy of having Tyler as that grandson made the role so easy to play. He was the nicest, sweetest, most caring young man. It was tragic to watch him battle with his demons but so gratifying to see him winning the battle. I loved him and will miss him. One of my lasting memories of Tyler occurred on the set one day as we were about to shoot a scene. A little voice said "Dad?" Surprised we stopped and realized it was his six year old son whom he had brought to work with him that day. Tyler stepped forward not knowing what to expect and in the most gentle of voices asked "What is it son?" "I just had to say I love you dad." Tyler hugged him and no one objected. His patient and loving way touched all of us... even the toughest of executives.

  9. The Beatles - Now And Then - The Last Beatles Song (Short Film) Nov 1, 2023 youtube description of the film: Now and Then's eventful journey to fruition took place over five decades and is the product of conversations and collaborations between the four Beatles that go on to this day. The long mythologised John Lennon demo was first worked on in February 1995 by Paul, George and Ringo as part of The Beatles Anthology project but it remained unfinished, partly because of the impossible technological challenges involved in working with the vocal John had recorded on tape in the 1970s. For years it looked like the song could never be completed. But in 2022 there was a stroke of serendipity. A software system developed by Peter Jackson and his team, used throughout the production of the documentary series Get Back, finally opened the way for the uncoupling of John’s vocal from his piano part. As a result, the original recording could be brought to life and worked on anew with contributions from all four Beatles. This remarkable story of musical archaeology reflects The Beatles’ endless creative curiosity and shared fascination with technology. It marks the completion of the last recording that John, Paul and George and Ringo will get to make together and celebrates the legacy of the foremost and most influential band in popular music history. Video Director: Oliver Murray Producers: Jonathan Clyde and Sophie Hilton Original score: Paul Englishby Sound Designer: Alastair Sirkett Audio Restoration: Park Road Post Production

  11. EJ's name is Elvis John DiMera. The show made an error in the EJ/Nicole wedding vows - both Chad and EJ said his name was Elvis Junior DiMera.
  12. Lauralee's debut was in the summer of 1983. They delayed the 40th anniv episode -- probably because they were waiting for Michael Damian to be available.
  13. This is new today Nov. 1st, the details were not in any print edition. https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/tricia-cast-on-young-and-the-restless-return/
  14. in addition to the losses of cast and crew mentioned above, the 'family' of GH lost Kristina and Jack Wagner's son Harrison in June 2022. He too struggled with substance issues. My heart goes out to Kristina Wagner now, it's all so much. She has been advocating for love and kindness, now I'm sending it her way.

  20. Also at beginning of November, Lily Fisher returns to the role of Georgie Spinelli, the role she had since 2017. (Eden Harker briefly played Georgie Spinelli starting in July 2023)
  21. Remember Charles Shaughnessy and the Victor Cassadine arc on GH was supposed be a 6-month contract. But part of his GH storyline involved Emma Samms as Holly, and she was unavailable to film GH due to Long Covid, but GH was understanding of her situation and waited until she could film. And there was also a delay in the middle of Charles' contract because he had to take some time off for a health thing, which GH accomodated, so the Casssadine storyline stalled for quite a while here and there. For DAYS: I had wondered about the potential for a Donovan family arc especially since Colton Little had appeared as Andrew on Beyond Salem and was guesting on Days. My SPECULATION was that Days planned to start a full Donovan family arc a while back; no inside knowledge, just guessing. Maybe they wanted to have Charles S. come to Days as Shane again - but they had to wait until Charles S. was finished taping contract episodes on GH. Meanwhile, On January 22, 2023, in reply to a comment on her IG post, Charlotte Ross indicated there had been some talks about her returning to Days. So I began to wonder some more about Donovan arcs coming? Again just speculating. But then months later we saw Kassie De Paiva return as Eve for one or two episodes with Harris Michaels. Charles S. finally finished his contract appearances on GH in spring 2023, so I wondered if he would pop in on DAYS in autumn 2023, and he eventually did appear in Greece with the briefcase episode. I don't know any BTS stuff at all, but based on all of the above, I am guessing they had planned a Donovan arc long ago, and waited until they had all the actors available, with Charles Shaughnessy being delayed on GH. But still. . . it doesn't explain why they pulled in Jen Lilley for a few episodes and then recast.
  22. Despite some of the hyperbole or gushing in Jen Lilley's interviews, I do believe the basics of what she has claimed. She (like several other Days actors) reached out to the show when she heard John Aniston died, and said she could be available if they filmed a memorial episode. She was later contacted and asked to do it. She explained she had prior commitments to some hallmark or family-type network to do some films but she could be available for a very short arc. I think she had about 10-14 days available. She said they wanted her for a 12-week arc. They told her they could arrange for her to film 12 weeks of episodes in two weeks, so she agreed. After a few days of filming, she realized what was happening with EOB, so she confronted the producer about wtf is going on. From reading and listening to JL's interviews, I think the show told her it was a great idea to come for the Victor memorial. . . . . and then after they made the offer, (or maybe while the show was pondering making her the offer), the show decided to make Theresa's return a longer-term thing. But she could not do the longer-term thing because of her prior obligations. She's said this consistently in more than one interview. I just don't know why they didn't write off Gwen several weeks before Victor's memorial. And then have EOB play Theresa totally in this arc. Was it just laziness and poor planning? Or did they want to use old flashbacks of JL with Martsolf? I mean they could have refilmed some of the Theresa/Brady flashbacks with EOB. But of course the entire idea of using EOB as Theresa makes zero sense. Same with RSW as Ben/Alex. If they needed to recast Theresa, there are plenty of other actresses out there.
