B&B: Veteran Actor returns
https://bsky.app/profile/soapoperadigest.bsky.social/post/3lp3bob5jeb2d New Details Emerge About Jack Wagner's Return to B&B as Nick https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/new-details-emerge-about-jack-wagners-return-to-bb-as-nick/ First airdate June 13. Will also be in the Italy episodes that air in July 2025. (His appearance in the Italy episodes was already mentioned on other threads. Just adding it to his casting thread as well.) EDIT: as another poster said upthread, there must be an error. Deadline said back in April that his first airdate is June 13. SOD must have missed that the May 8 preemption would move that to June 16.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Randy (Doug's friend who works for Joey) -- Joey told Randy weeks ago that Joey's plan was to get Doug into so much debt that Doug would be forced to get Vanessa's real estate holding turned over to Joey, to use for money-laundering. That's been the plan all along, which the viewers knew. The only thing new is that Joey finally told Doug this. I think Joey is written badly. I also think Jon Lindstrom is doing "Now I am going to act menacing". But I don't really feel the menace. It's too overdramatic and it doesn't feel like a real person. Jon is a fine actor on GH, so I don't know what's happening here -- the entire BTG mobster premise is badly designed/written. I don't know if Guza pushed for a mobster storyline? Or did Jon? (Jon wrote a novel about Hollywood mobsters). It just doesn't fit. It feels (to me) like this storyline for Jon was just shoved onto the canvas but it doesn't fit all all. Monday's scene of Mona coming into the "casino" to check up on where Leslie supposedly lost money in the slot machines -- and Randy explaining to Mona that there are no slot machines, there is nothing but the card room. I had to laugh because they had characters comment that it's just a card room and not a casino -- the show is now acknowledging that there's nothing there. If they are going to do this, then have it make sense for Fairmont Crest residents to visit a high-end glamourous casino, and not a random room with one table. So what money is Joey laundering? A while back, Joey told Vanessa that he knows about her sexual philandering because owns the escort service that she'd been using. But I don't care... I'd just prefer that the entire mobster storyline go away.

a reference to a mystery character on Y&R named "Aristotle Dumas" who has been discussed a zillion times in the past few months but never seen. Not mad at the character. Mad at Y&R writer Griffith for the annoyance. Mentioned to point out the annoyances of Y&R in contrast to enthusiasm for BTG.

Vanessa told Joey that her best friend had cheated and has a surprise daughter. Joey said the same had happened to him. I wasn't sure if Joey was saying he has an adult out-of-wedlock child?

The Jan/Ashley phone conversation today - They talked about Jan as a single mom raising Ashley. The Jan/Leslie diner conversation today - Jan said she she never lied to Ashley about the father. So then does Ashley know who her father was/is?

Dani? Honestly I've barely noticed her. My focus has been on Nicole, Eva, and Mona.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
I don't agree that we're supposed to like Dani in obnoxious mode. I think Dani was written over-the-top intentionally for the first few weeks of episodes, to get the viewers to be evenly divided as to like/dislike the character. I don't think Dani is being written over-the-top or obnoxious anymore. I think Dani is now more of a background character who is being assertive but still in the background of Nicole. Nicole is the lead of the show.

The show is starting to improve with going to commercial break, just adding a tiny musical cue or a single note in the background as the scene ends, does emphasize the drama.

BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
It always bothered me from the start that Nicole just took Mona's suggestion and never checked references. A real psychiatrist would have done more before hiring someone. ** I like that Kat's reporter/investigative type instincts caused her to be suspicious of Eva from the start, and to try to spy on Eva and catch her as weeks went by. However, I think that Kat's so focused on what Eva did wrong -- that she won't see that Leslie is the master manipulator, making some things appear different than they actually are. I hope that Shanice's natural snoopy nature will get her to figure out what actually happened to Laura, and who really caused all the problems. *** edit to add: The show never specified what Mona's job was for Nicole. Home manager? Office manager? Head personal assistant? I'm sure there would have been a title? Mona asserted today her upset with Eva and with Leslie. That they used her and ruined her reputation. I just wish I knew what Mona's job was. If Mona was an official manager, then it would have made sense for Nicole to trust the recommendation, if Nicole thought Mona had done a proper hiring procedure. But if Mona is just an informal helper, then why wouldn't Nicole order a background check?
