  3. The show is excellent in my opinion. There are a couple of less-than-stellar actors and a couple of bad storylines, but otherwise it's awesome and I watch many of the episodes twice. However, episode #55 from May 19 was really bad, which is where you popped into the thread, but it was the *first* really bad episode. So 54 great episodes out of a total of 55 episodes is pretty good, in my opinion! I haven't seen today (#56) yet, but I hear it's good. Will watch in a couple of hours.

  6. https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/exclusive-yr-preview-leading-ladies-dish-about-the-standalone-couples-episode/ Thanks, @dragonflies! SOD used correct spoiler pics for Lauren and Diane, but their pic of Nikki on the tweet and at the top of the article is from December 2024, as shown here: https://wornontv.net/484131/ SOD's only relevant pic of Nikki/Victor is a screengrab from the weekly preview video, showing Nikki in red touching Victor's face, which they included within the article. The article itself makes the episode sound somewhat interesting. I don't care about Victor/Nikki discussing Kyle/Claire at all, LOL. But I did find it interesting to read what Susan Walters said about Diane's father, which I hadn't heard before. And I was interested in Tracey Bregman's take on why Michael is so connected with Victor.
  7. update on this SOD photo: Per the paramount press site, this Ted/Leslie scene is for episode #59 which airs Friday May 23 https://www.paramountpressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/shows/beyond-the-gates/photos?episode=25700
  8. The CBS live stream I use isn't working, it just keep repeating the same three commercials then freezing. I can't access the show. Grrr. Will have to watch later on cbs.com or pplus
  9. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 – Episode #15122 Sarah confronts Xander. Alex and Brady fear the worst. Stephanie gently warns Cat. Paulina surprises Chanel and Johnny. Lots of photos for Wed. May 21 via SOD https://www.soapoperadigest.com/photos/days-of-our-lives-spoilers-gallery-for-may-21-fresh-starts/ and via soaphub https://soaphub.com/days-of-our-lives/spoilers-days/preview-xanders-some-splaining-plus-party-small-bar/ Some pics are same on both links. Some pics are different on each link. K-mansion: Sarah/Xander. Xander looking into Victoria's crib. Sarah/Maggie. Alex and Brady visit Philip in the hospital. Maggie visits Philip in the hospital. Xander and a cop at the police station. Bunch of characters at the Small Bar: Chad, Cat, Stephanie, Alex, Brady Johnny, Chanel, Paulina -- as a big group and in separate smaller groupings. At the Small Bar, Paulina gives Johnny and Chanel a tile that says "home sweet home" -- then later there is an apartment scene and Paulina gives Johnny and Chanel keys to their own apartment and they start to move in. -

  11. you made me laugh. They haven't found a network for this potential reboot but yeah. GreatAmericanFamily/Pureflix is where producers go who feel that Hallmark is too diverse.
  12. I was obsessed with the original Party of Five, it used to be one of my favorite primetime soaps. In my mind, Neve Campbell is "the star of Party of Five" - I've never seen the Scream movies. So I watched the reboot with great attention. I kept comparing and contrasting each reboot sibling with the original. Lacey Chabert's character in the original was a precocious child who played the violin. Her counterpart in the reboot was also smart but she danced. Not quite the same. Neve Campbell's teen character in the original was a moody student, and her teen counterpart in the reboot became politically active and tried to help other teens that had immigration issues. Etc. I knew all the secondary characters in the original, and kept waiting to see if they'd have counterparts in the reboot. Some of that compare/contrast stuff was distracting to me at first, but ... eventually I realized that the reboot was a completely different show, and I came to embrace it for what it was, and let go of my comparisons. I felt that the reboot existed as its own separate identity, and there was no need to be familiar with the original at all. Other than the ages of the five siblings and the restaurant, the reboot had very little in common with the original. The reboot was a good show by itself and I liked it, and was disappointed that it was cancelled.
  13. The three producers for the potential 7th Heaven reboot seem to bring different aspects: Anthony Sparks brings his experience showrunning Queen Sugar and as one of the Bel-Air producers -- that is major. DeVon Franklin has experience producing faith-based films. (Sparks and Franklin are both Black.) Jessica Biel brings her familiar name but as a producer and not as an actor here -- and her producing partner Michelle Purple. So perhaps she's there to bring in the money and the attention, and with some experience producing. Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple coproduced these shows: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sinner_(TV_series) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruel_Summer_(TV_series)
  14. I get what you're saying, in that this is what allows you to accept what you are watching, and that works for you. But for me, changing the traits of a character that much with a recast and new writing, then they are no longer the same character. I am unable to accept that a villain is now just a nice dude because the show wants me to, I just cannot. If they want a grey character, then they should write off the villain and *create* a new character who is grey. I'll never accept that Sonny Corinthos is a nice guy, despite what GH wants me to think. Same goes for the villains on DAYS. It's frustrating for me, and not enjoyable. It occurs to me that I watch soaps to be entertained, and the current show is just making me angry and irritated. It's not fun for me. I want to honor Drake to see John's story conclude, but there isn't much of interest to me anymore at all, so I'll probably stop following the show in a few weeks.
  15. The wikipedia article doesn't explain much. I watched the Party of Five reboot, it was on Freeform in 2020. It was five years ago, but I'll tell you what I remember: In the original Party of Five series , the parents died, and the five sibling orphans worked together to raise themselves with the older ones looking out for the younger, while managing the family restaurant. The oldest child is an adult who wants to have fun but ends up assuming the responsibility. The teens go through teen stuff, and as they age they consider college or potential careers. The youngest is a baby/toddler they struggle to raise. The siblings hire a nanny who is a major character. In the 2020 reboot: The family were Mexican, the parents were undocumented, and the oldest child is an adult who could stay in the US because of DACA. In the reboot, instead of the parents dying -- in the first episode the parents were arrested by ICE and sent back to Mexico. The five children were left in the U.S. to raise themselves with the older ones looking out for the younger, while managing the family restaurant. The oldest child wants to have fun but ends up assuming the responsibility. The teens go through teen stuff and the older ones explore careers. The youngest is a baby that they struggle to raise. But the big differences here: In the reboot: the children were able to have periodic phonecalls with their parents in Mexico, which were very emotional. The children hire an attorney to try to get their parents returned to the U.S. The child daughter feels sad without her parents. The dad phones them to check on the management of the restaurant. The middle and younger children crave talking to the mom on the phone and one child sometimes avoid the calls due to the high emotion. I think a few of the children eventually got to take the bus to Mexico to visit their parents. In the reboot: The viewers see how the parents are coping with the strain in Mexico: the mom works as a nanny in Mexico and the dad gets odd jobs there -- they almost divorce, and the mom admits she never wanted to live in the USA to begin with, and now wants to stay in Mexico, so she doesn't want the legal battle to return to USA. The next-youngest child missed the parents very much. In the season one finale, it was decided that the youngest two would remain in Mexico and live with their parents. The older children remained in the USA and were following their dreams. Season One finished airing just as the COVID epidemic began and everything shut down. The show was not renewed for Season Two. That's all I remember. It was good but very different from the original. Edit to add: Amazing how the world has changed in five years. The reboot was filmed in 2019 during the first Tr*mp presidency, and aired in 2020. The immigration situation was tense then, and that was explored in the series. But it seems carefree in comparison to the real world today in 2025. Edit to add more thoughts. I have no idea what would have happened in future seasons, since the five siblings were no longer a "party of five" at the end of Season One. Supposedly the cancellation wasn't even announced until after the Season One finale aired. But the season one finale was 90 minutes and wrapped up some lose ends, so maybe the producers anticipated a cancellation, and did that just in case? Perhaps if there had been future seasons, the younger children would age and then return to the USA and the five would reunite? I don't know.

  18. ------------------------- "On the next GH" preview for Tuesday May 20, 2025 (tidbits of miscellaneous scenes) edit, replacing the video with a better version: In the "on the next GH" preview, who is this? She's saying "Looks like I got here just in time" Edit, it's Lulu. The better version audio makes it clear that it's Lulu's voice.
  19. I don't care. I feel that murderers and rapists shouldn't be romantic leads.
  20. https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/7th-heaven-reboot-cbs-studios-jessica-biel-1236401017/ Sources say that the new show would focus on a diverse family, and that none of the original cast members would appear. Anthony Sparks will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the reboot. Jessica Biel, who starred in the original series, is executive producing under her Iron Ocean banner along with Michelle Purple. DeVon Franklin will executive produce via Franklin Entertainment and his overall deal with CBS Studios. Sparks was previously the showrunner on the critically-acclaimed OWN series “Queen Sugar.” He also worked as an executive producer on “Bel-Air” at Peacock and the Mike Tyson biographical series “Mike” at Hulu. His other TV writing credits include “The Blacklist” and “The District.” Franklin is best known for producing faith based films like “Miracles from Heaven” and “Heaven Is for Real.” He previously held positions at Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment as well as MGM and Sony’s Colombia Pictures. In his time as a studio exec, he worked with Smith on films like “The Pursuit of Happyness,” “Hancock,” and “Seven Pounds.” His other credits include the animated Biblical film “The Star” as well as “Flamin’ Hot” and the BET+ original series “Kingdom Business.”
  21. Xander and EJ are villains. I don't like them being written as romantic leads. My opinion.
  22. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/19/benjamin-netanyahu-israel-take-control-gaza-uk-france-canada-threaten-action Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that Israel will “take control” of all Gaza, as three key allies attacked his “egregious” escalation of the military campaign and blockade on humanitarian aid. Britain, France and Canada attacked Israel’s expansion of its war as disproportionate, described conditions in Gaza as “intolerable” and threatened a “concrete” response if Israel’s campaign continues. finance minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel’s army would “wipe out” what remains of Palestinian Gaza. “Now we conquer, cleanse and stay" ---------------------------- My thoughts: This is genocide, ethnic cleansing. It's just evil and there's no excuse for it. I'm glad Canada, France, and UK are making a statement, and I hope they back it up. There are some Israeli citizens who don't support what Netanyahu is doing, and I hope they are able to enact some positive change from within.
