Damn, they really laid it on thick with Leo and Diana today. I’m sure we were supposed to feel sympathy for him today and I’m sorry, I just don’t. All that childhood trauma and all that other crap is still no excuse for what he did to Gwen. Or Will/Sonny. Or Craig/Nancy. Or even Xander. If I feel sorry for anyone, it’s Greg Rikaart, because he’s had to play this horrible character for so long and now that they finally seem to be redeeming him, fans just don’t care. I will admit, he did do a good job today though. And I do wonder if Dr. Mark is going to comfort him tomorrow. Btw, speaking as someone who’s currently watching Diana and RoJohn’s relationship on YouTube, it really is terrible what they’ve done to her character. Switching gears, I’m enjoying the relationship that Johnny and Chanel have with Mark and Felicity. Their scenes today were really nice. And see ya, Lucas. Hope to see you again soon. I don’t understand why Days doesn’t want to keep Bryan Dattilo around. There’s a lot that they could do with Lucas now that he’s out of prison. Hell, based on the Montana scenes, they could have even tried to pair him with Ava. Btw, when did Will and Sonny move back to Phoenix?

I remember he said in the book that the role of Willis was catered to John Fitzpatrick’s acting talents and that with the recast, the character seemed to completely change in a lot of ways

I think it would be interesting if for some reason, Holly ends up taking Theresa’s side once all the secrets come out. That could cause some good problems for her and Tate, especially with Sophia still lurking (hopefully) And here I am, thinking that was sweet 😂😂

I guess some of us will miss you lol Character wise, I’m not really sure why Ava can’t just go with him to search for Megan but I guess she needs to be there for the whole Stefan/Gabi thing. Their scenes were really good though and definitely more proof that Steve Burton can play more than just a mindless killing machine. There were a lot of other good scenes today too. I like the way that Maggie and Alex made peace and how EJ and Nicole discussed her kissing Eric and how it’s being all set up. It’s paving the way for everything to get blown to hell once all the secrets come out. Tate and Holly were good too. Leo Howard had a chance to flex his acting muscles today and I was impressed. He did play angry pretty well. I’m still not the biggest fan of the whole Romeo and Juliet thing and having Theresa be the primary source of conflict for them, even though I like the suggestion that Tate brought up today, that Theresa’s just compensating for her own mistakes. I still think that Days should let Holly and Tate’s own personal problems and feelings be the primary source of conflict between them. And while that’s happening, Theresa (and especially Sophia) could take advantage of the situation somehow.

And, this is why I’m always saying that there’s always a chance that something “new” will be discovered and get posted. These clips are amazing. And in such good condition too. Plus, it’s always nice to see scenes from years that were covered in Lemay’s book. I always said that they should have done that in 1982, instead of writing Pat out. It could have worked, especially considering how new character-crazy AW was at the time.

Well, that is true about some of the characters mentioned. But I do believe that he is totally to blame for Abigail and Will (and Sonny too) being written out. He clearly hated the character of Abigail and wanted her gone. And let's not even talk about how ridiculous it was that at the same time he killed off Abigail with a simple stab wound, he brought back Stefan, who had no heart or brain activity As for Will and Sonny, it all goes back to 2018-2019. With the way it the storyline was written, I think he wanted Will/Paul back then (and tbf, we all wanted Will/Paul lol) My guess is that after Christopher Sean decided to leave, he was instructed to reunite Will and Sonny and he just quit caring about the characters. Everything Will and Sonny did until they were written out in September 2020 was so plotty and contrived that you practically tell there was no interest in them. It was like they were just there to fill the episode guarantees. And unfortunately, by the time he did seem interested in Will and Sonny, not only did they have to deal with Chandler Massey's schedule, the obsession with Leo had taken over. I shudder to think what would have happened between Sonny and Leo if Zach Tinker hadn't left. As much as I love the characters and actors, them being offscreen really is the best thing.

No matter how lousy people make it, or how many times I call it out for being lousy, I have to be optimistic about it 😂😂😂 (Plus, Khan's post reminded me of that song anyway) Agreed The introduction of the Greene's is being handled very differently (and with a lot more care) than other recent introductions (Everett, Sloan, even Chanel) have been.

Yeah, he had something for sure. There was more of an innocence, a vulnerability and an anger in JMM’s Tate, which IMO, is how the character should be. LH’s Tate is too laid back, too carefree. I don’t think he’s a bad actor but I think he should play Tate more like JMM did.

Guys, this has nothing to do with Leo or Ron being gay. It has to do with the fact that Leo is a horrible character and a horrible human being but yet the storyline is always written as though fans are supposed to take his side. Sami and Nicole and all the bad things that they did was brought up in this thread, but the difference is they were never written as the one in the right, as the one who’s side that fans were supposed to take. Nothing was ever biased in favor of them in those storylines. And we’ve been hearing the excuses and the reasons from Leo for years now. Because he doesn’t have a great guy to love him, because he had a tough childhood, etc. But to that I say, so what. We all have pain, we all want to find that special someone. But do I think that that gives any one the excuse to be such a horrible person or to betray the people that love them and then just toss them away like garbage? Hell No. That obsession with Leo and that bias in favor of him (and bias against other characters) were probably the biggest reasons why the Dimitri storyline was so poorly written in the first place. Plus, you don’t give a character years worth of storyline when you only have the actor for 6 months. And it’s the same thing with Joss on GH. The way she treated Cam, the way GH treated Cam, was quite honestly one of the sickest things I’ve ever seen in my life. That storyline was worse than anything Ron’s ever written. And the fact that Joss got off scot free, for that and for leaving Britt to die for no reason other than the fact that she was horny, really made me angry. Still makes me angry actually. At this point, if we’re stuck with Leo, the only way to move forward is to take the bias out of the storyline, especially because writing a biased storyline never works, as we’ve seen so many times on Days over the last few years. Let things flow naturally, instead of shoving it down the fans’ throats.

I sometimes think that, it's more him thinking that he's saying "F*ck you" to all these ignorant Middle America dumbasses. But I also think that it never even crossed his mind that LGBTQ+ fans would end up hating Leo.

Having your young couple be similar to Romeo and Juliet. It's been done to death on soaps.

In my fan fiction, I would have had their own teenage angst keep them apart. Holly hanging Tate out to dry at the halfway house was a good idea and I wish the show had continued on that path. The Romeo and Juliet trope is soooo overdone.

That's pretty much the only reason why Ava's still on the canvas, unless they pair her with Stefan once Gabi finds out.

B and C The writers could have been a little better at establishing it but I guess they were trying to say that Alex was afraid of commitment but his "love" for Theresa is too strong, so he changed his mind about it.

That was fast 😂😂 Sad. But at least Johnny and Chanel will finally have a storyline.

I kinda hope she keeps trying to pursue Tate. He and Holly just need some better conflict though, so that he eventually has a reason to turn to Sophia.
