I just started watching The Golden Girls from the beginning. Brent Collins (Wallingford) guest stars in episode 13 as Rose's new boyfriend. The episode is hilarious! I had forgotten just how funny Brent was.

I thought that Steve's initial return written by L. Virginia Browne was good. The problem to me was the casting of Alice and then Corrine Jacker's terrible writing. I loved the return of Kathleen and Carl. I think 1991 was AW's last really good year.

I really enjoyed the 25th anniversary celebrations on Another and All My Children. The shows really put a great deal of heart and thought into them. Both shows also did a good job acknowledging their 20th anniversaries but on a much smaller scale.

You are correct! Pamela Long spoke publicly that one of the factors of her leaving the last time was the she was not allowed to make the character of Matt Weiss Jewish. I believe she wanted to create a family around him.

I think I’m the only AW fan you liked Rhonda Lewin as Vicky. But Anne Heche was by far one of the best performers to ever walk through those doors in Brooklyn!

This is so sad. Robyn has such beautiful energy. I wish she had found a long term character in daytime so we could have enjoyed her talent more.

I have zero tolerance for drunk driving. When my cousin and I were both 19 she was killed by a drunk driver so close to her house that her family heard the accident. When the driver was released from jail after serving his time my cousin’s mother ran into him in a convenience store and he smirked at her. This branch of my family has never been the same since the accident. It’s unfair that my cousin never got to finish nursing school, marry her fiancé and live a long happy life. However, I can still feel empathy for a woman who was sexually abused as a child which lead to mental illness and substance abuse. I hope she fully recovers and is finally able to deal with her demons. I also hope she pays legally and financially.

There were several female adversarial relationships that had the potential to be like Viki/Dorian but the revolving door of Executive Producers and Head Writers prevented the show from having much continuity from 1979 onward. Liz / Missy, Rachel / Alice, Rachel / Iris, Cecile / Blaine, Cecile / Donna all could have provided years of drama.

I am not a fan of Steve Burton but I think is a great use of history to bring him back as Harris.

The story i imagined would be Jamie and Alice working together and becoming close friends with some confusion about their feelings but never crossing the line and having sex. Rachel would be jealous, her insecurities about Alice would resurface and should would make a big mess out of everything.
