  1. I think I’m the only AW fan you liked Rhonda Lewin as Vicky. But Anne Heche was by far one of the best performers to ever walk through those doors in Brooklyn!
  2. Finally some good news!!! Thanks for the update.
  3. This is so sad. Robyn has such beautiful energy. I wish she had found a long term character in daytime so we could have enjoyed her talent more.
  4. I have zero tolerance for drunk driving. When my cousin and I were both 19 she was killed by a drunk driver so close to her house that her family heard the accident. When the driver was released from jail after serving his time my cousin’s mother ran into him in a convenience store and he smirked at her. This branch of my family has never been the same since the accident. It’s unfair that my cousin never got to finish nursing school, marry her fiancé and live a long happy life. However, I can still feel empathy for a woman who was sexually abused as a child which lead to mental illness and substance abuse. I hope she fully recovers and is finally able to deal with her demons. I also hope she pays legally and financially.
  5. Thank you! @victoria foxton
  6. Harding Lemay talks about this Shapiros in this interview. MLH: Well, you had a beautiful and extremely intelligent actress playing that part. She preceded the Alexis character on DYNASTY. LEMAY: Two prime time soaps took names from my characters. The Ewings were on DALLAS; the Carringtons were on DYNASTY. MLH: Sounds like the creators of these series watched ANOTHER WORLD. LEMAY: Oh yes, the Shapiros, David and Esther. I knew them. https://iriswheeler.tripod.com/sodonline1997.html
  7. No she was the younger sister of Jim and William Matthews.
  8. Have you checked out this website? The cast list is very detailed. http://santabarbara-online.com/index2.htm
  9. Yes I loved Cecile torturing Pat! Susan Keith was so good at looking sweet as she stuck the knife in someone's back!
  10. There were several female adversarial relationships that had the potential to be like Viki/Dorian but the revolving door of Executive Producers and Head Writers prevented the show from having much continuity from 1979 onward. Liz / Missy, Rachel / Alice, Rachel / Iris, Cecile / Blaine, Cecile / Donna all could have provided years of drama.
  11. I am not a fan of Steve Burton but I think is a great use of history to bring him back as Harris.
  12. The story i imagined would be Jamie and Alice working together and becoming close friends with some confusion about their feelings but never crossing the line and having sex. Rachel would be jealous, her insecurities about Alice would resurface and should would make a big mess out of everything.
  13. Bo isn't coming back from the dead. It's Kristin DiMera wearing a Bo mask and a sock in her pants.
  14. I rewatched all the available episodes from 1980 - 85 a few years ago. 1980 is painfully boring Things get better in 1981. Go off the rails again in 1982 BUT Dec 1982 - spring 1985 is so good.
  15. I'm thinking being locked in a secret room in the wine cellar as a teenager where you give birth, are forced to raise your baby as your sister, 18 years later find out you had twins and one was given away then a year later find out you actually had triplets may make a person go a little cuckoo. On top of that your father returns from the dead to terrorize you and his assistant Gomez is drugging you. I would probably be hugging pillows and need a stay in a psych ward for a while,
  16. I did not see Agnes Nixon's run or the first half of Harding Lemay's but there is no denying they were the greatest time periods / eras for Another World. I watched from 1977-96 and occasionally from 1996-99. December 1982 - Summer 1985 is my favourite time period. Dorothy Ann Purser & Robert Soderberg and then Richard Culliton & Gary Tomlin managed to successfully create new characters (Felicia, Cass, Wallingford, Carl, Catlin), families (Love, McKinnon), expand diversity (Lily, Carter, Grant, Abel), tell more modern stories and also keep the core families (Cory, Matthews, Ewing) front and centre. I recently rewatched the available episodes on Youtube and they hold up well.
  17. 1986 was a devastating year for Another World and it was never the name. In addition to those you mentioned we also lost the Ewing family - Gail Brown (Clarice), Rick Porter (Larry) + plus their children Cory & Jeanne. The remaining Matthews were written out - Irene Dailey (Liz), Taylor Miller (Sally) and Trevor Richard (Kevin). Most of Quinn's family were gone - Pamela Kay (Thomasina), Russell Todd (Carter), their son Grant and Jackee Harry (Lily). 1975 was probably the most critical year for AW. Losing George Reinholt (Steve), Jacqueline Courtney (Alice), Virginia Dwyer (Mary) and Susan Sullivan (Lenore).
  18. Nicholas walker participated in a Locher Room Capital reunion back in 2020.
  19. I followed Brenda Dickson on Twitter for a while but I had to stop. It was painful to see the batshit crazy things she posted. She is obviously mentally ill and needs someone to help her. I believe she deleted her account.
  20. It would have killed me if she was nasty. lol. I have also interacted with Mark Pinter and Faith Ford on the Another World Memories Twitter and they are also really cool and nice.
  21. Mary Page Keller comments quite often on the Another World Memories Twitter page. I have interacted with her a few times and she is as lovely as I had hoped she would be. She also shares memories of the cast.
  22. Speaking of Thorne recasts does anyone know why Jeff Trachta was fired? I thought he was popular or at least his pairing with Bobbie Eakes was.
  23. I also prefer the Loves during 1983-85 and McKinnons 1984 -85 than during the DePriest era. I get angry when I think of how she gutted the show during 1986-87. I enjoyed AW up to 1995 but it was a very different show.
