  1. I enjoyed Tomlin and Culliton’s era as well. From late 82 to Feb 85 there was a great balance of the past (Matthews, Corys & Ewings) and the new (Harding/Todds, Loves, Felicia/Cass/Wally & McKinnons). Then it went to hell. As bad as 85 was at least the cast and characters were recognizable. In 86 it was a constant exit of actors.
  2. I agree. Soderberg and Purser improved the show significantly and quickly.
  3. ATWT’s 30th, Another World’s 25th and All My Children’s 25th were the best anniversary celebrations by far. I don’t get why these milestones aren’t celebrated more.
  4. Paulina took her foster mother Marsha Cantrell’s last name. I have no idea why though.
  5. I am curious about this too. Christopher Marcantel was a good actor. I am interested in knowing why he was not brought back to the role sooner.
  6. Technical issues aside I really enjoyed this one. The ladies obviously like each other and were surprisingly honestly about their experience on the show and especially Joe Stuart.
  7. I could not see them either then I refreshed the update page.
  8. Maybe it was Diner. My god you have a bad attitude.
  9. I read a Doug Marland interview years ago where he said GL let Kevin Bacon out of his contract so he could do Animal House.
  10. Vanna Tribbey was a good actress. She played Alice as very strong which was refreshing but may have been why she was replaced..
  11. No it was L. Virginia Browne.
  12. Also, Steve, Alice, Sally, Louise and Brooks returned. If the show had done a better job recasting Alice I think they may have had more success with the return of Steve and Alice.
  13. I recently watched the L .Virgina Browne era an completely agree with you.
  14. Ok it ended much better than it began. I went from being cranky watching it to not wanting it to end.
  15. This is the first of these YouTube reunions I have watched. Are they all this painful? When you could hear them it was so much fun but the rest of the time it was unbelievably frustrating. I did not think the comments about VW were negative. They said they have no seen her. I have not seen people i worked with 2o years ago either.
  16. I just discovered that all seasons of Family are on CTV app in Canada. I cannot wait to dive in.
  17. Maybe there is where I remember it from!
  18. I just want to take a minute to thank you all for keeping this thread going. Reading these comments is exactly what I need right now.
  19. Here is a great interview with Linda Dano, Anna Stuart and Victoria Wyndham. VW comes across as tough but very human. Everything we have been saying in this thread about her frustration with the behind the scenes drama seems to be accurate. http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat26.html
  20. My understanding is that both Matt Crane and Sandra Ferguson had great relationships with VW and maintained contact with her for at least a while after Another World ended. I read an interview with Beverlee where she said her female screen partner on AW always had to have the last word in every scene with her. She made this woman sound petty, insecure and competitive. Beverlee did not name the actress.
  21. I loved VW as Rachel but from most things I’ve read (including her own Interviews) she did not seem like the nicest person to be around. I am sure the constant behind the scenes turmoil did not help. I imagine watching the show be dismantled by one bad decision after another would make a person angry. Didn’t she throw something at Tom Casiello? And isn’t there a story about her being horrible to someone in an ice cream store in New York? Ricky Paull Goldin said in last week’s SOD podcast that she didn’t speak to him the entire 3 years he was on the show. He said it jokingly but I have no doubt there was some truth to it.
  22. i would not be least bit surprised if this was true.
  23. Exactly Khan. Soaps need multi-generational characters and supporting actors. Bridget had an important role to play as the one constant in Vicky's life and she also had great relationships with Donna, Michael and especially Jake.
  24. She fired Barbara Berjer (Bridget) and David Hedison (Spencer). Among many other short sighted and disastrous decisions.
  25. I have listened to and read many Harding Lemay interviews. This was the first one where he came across as humble and not arrogant. I wish the interviewer would have spent some time asking about Mr. Lemay's 1988 return. Other than the the interview was great.
