  1. When has Cersei not fucked herself over? She's the dumbest smart person in Westeros.
  2. I think I'm just gonna leave y'all to it!
  3. Entirely unrelated: Mädchen Amick writes for Yahoo about raising her bipolar son, as part of the Discovery Channel's "Psych Week" documentary series.
  4. She does look a bit blowsy, doesn't she? I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch leaned into that and made Audrey a bit tragicomic, but I also know he has such love for Sherilyn that he would never mock her.
  5. It's looking like it's tentatively confirmed, from multiple sources at Crypticon on social media. My best assumption is that it will, in fact, be two whole seasons of Twin Peaks, nine episodes each. Which is far, far more than I ever imagined in this lifetime. On some level I am not entirely surprised, since I know Showtime has been banking on this as their answer to HBO's prestige programming, and that would usually constitute a multi-season deal of some sorts. So long as Lynch and Frost are up for it, so am I. Have another picture of Sheryl Lee.
  6. It appears Sheryl/Sherilyn have also confirmed that Angelo Badalamenti is back, but that was already pretty much a done deal - Badalamenti has openly spoken about working on music for the new show for the last several years, and recently admitted Lynch secretly brought him into the loop a couple years ago. I do wonder if Laura's music or the theme song will be updated in any way - Mitch Murder's beautiful TP/Badalamenti tribute always makes me wonder about that. Sheryl and Sherilyn at Crypticon.
  7. We all thought it was 9. I think people are presently trying to confirm it wasn't some misunderstanding. I do know Fenn and Sheryl Lee are definitely at said event as we speak. The hypothesis I've heard, if it is true, is that it would be two sets of nine episodes spread across two seasons.
  8. It was also very common for the show to do that, especially in later years - a new character, particularly "parallel time" characters, would appear and then just as quickly disappear. It also happened with several stars in the 1970PT storyline, many of whom were simply used as filler for the main ensemble who were busy filming HODS. Once that was done, actors like Jerry Lacy, Paula Laurence, etc. were all but disposed of.
  9. I assume she'd have been the parallel Samantha. I don't think they had any firm plans going on at that point, though - so much of the show was written by the seat of its pants anyway, but it was even more slapdash in that last year and those last months. I also don't remember Vestoff's Samantha Drew in Parallel 1840 being killed off, I think the character (like several others) just stopped appearing. But I haven't seen it in many years.
  10. I am so glad Grace is confirmed to be back, but I'm not surprised - Lynch has always been fascinated with her. She is terrifying in both Wild at Heart and Inland Empire. I hope you got to see the "Between Two Worlds" short. Her performance there is incredible, just in a few short minutes. I've heard differing reports on how long they had to rehearse that brief sequence - some claim the three Palmer actors just got the pages from Lynch on the set. I can't wait to see her on TV again.
  11. As excited as I am to argue with everyone about last week's episode and as busy as I have been, I'm going to forego all of that and just leave this here, from Red Nose Day, featuring much of the GOT cast:
  12. No, I think it was this hunky kid they got who appeared once or twice with Kathy Cody - Jeremy Stokes, or something. I actually liked Kate Jackson on the show a lot, and thought she possessed an iron will and authoritative integrity that the characters didn't always have on the page. (She reminded me so much of Alex Moltke, especially in her 1970 appearances, that I thought they should've taken the whole "Daphne is wearing Vicki Winters' clothes" story note even further and had Jackson actually take over the role of Vicki.) And I liked her with Selby a lot. But I thought any real soap, which DS wasn't, would've found that the real meat in the story was in using both Jackson and Vestoff. Instead, when the story they intended to tell in 1840 really gets going - Judah Zachery, Barnabas, Angelique, etc. - everything with Virginia Vestoff/Samantha, etc. pretty much falls by the wayside til it's time for the 'bad' characters to pay for their misdeeds.
  13. I know they'd apparently intended for Katie Scott to play Samantha before she quit. I think she would've done very well in the role - she was a much tougher, smarter actress than people at DS gave her credit for, and her early portrayal of Kitty Soames shows that side of her abilities. That being said, Virginia Vestoff was wonderful and had great chemistry with both her leading men. I thought 1840 got off to a great start, but once they moved away from Gerard, Samantha, Quentin, etc. it loses a lot. They also were foolish to lose David Henesy - I vaguely remember that lunkhead they brought in to be the new teen heartthrob, who was on maybe two days. But I haven't seen any of this since I was a kid. I don't remember any rumor about Alex Moltke returning for the 1840 storyline; I thought it was back in 1969. If there was another opportunity I'm not familiar with it. I haven't been anywhere near the DS fandom in over a decade.
  14. On David Letterman's last night, Welcome to Twin Peaks has posted a collection of period Letterman interviews with the cast and crew of TP:
  15. Catherine E. Coulson talks to HitFix about TP and her long history with David Lynch. This interview was conducted very shortly before the good news broke, and her reaction is a postscript.
  16. Brief, doomed featurette trying to hype American audiences up for Fire Walk with Me. Look out for Kiefer Sutherland, star of Flatliners and Young Guns! Beautiful young Moira Kelly! Rock musician David Bowie! Also included: Catherine Coulson mentions the possibility of future films, something which was allegedly part of the plan with characters like David Bowie's Phillip Jeffries.
  17. Mädchen Amick put up these old shots from a photo shoot she did with Michael Ontkean, who said he'd only do it with her.
  18. GH's own Ian Buchanan (Dick Tremayne on TP) will officially be attending this year's sold-out Twin Peaks Festival. Along with Catherine Coulson (the Log Lady), Charlotte Stewart (Betty Briggs), Gary Hershberger (Mike Nelson), Phoebe Augustine (Ronette Pulaski), James Marshall (James Hurley), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran), Jonathan Leppell (Mrs. Tremond's Grandson in FWWM) and what are sure to be others.
  19. They are filming there. But most of the original show (except for the pilot and FWWM) was shot in California.
  20. I never really doubted it would be worked out. There was far too much at stake. That being said, I know a lot of the fans were ready to gnaw their own limbs off, especially with all the X-Files stuff (which is a very different situation) moving along so quickly, so I am glad it is finally on track. I am very intrigued by the apparent extension of episodes/story.
  21. Mädchen Amick: Sherilyn Fenn shares David Lynch's personal message to her.
