  1. My God:
  2. My favorite part of last night was Chuck Todd scrambling for cover for the GOP, wondering "what if the bomber was a Russian ploy to misdirect and divide us?" That didn't pan out today.
  3. Criterion leaving Hulu was absolutely heartbreaking for me. I never got over it, and FilmStruck utterly failing to accommodate me didn't help. For people looking to get more into classic film, I highly recommend Kanopy - they have a decent and growing selection, and all you need is a local library card which you can obtain and use entirely online via most public libraries' websites. I did in ten minutes.
  4. I love the Criterion Collection and TCM, but the fact is FilmStruck was a shitshow from the start. It took months to get a Roku app and when it did it refused to play many films in 5.1 sound with proper audio sync. When quizzed about it FilmStruck claimed it had a fix which never worked. I had to give up on the service because of it. As a film buff and Criterion devotee it made me furious. Even this month they've been promising Roku fixes and a PS4 app 'coming any day'. They've been saying that for over a year. If there's any justice in the world, Criterion will move its full library back to Hulu where it used to be - where it belongs.
  5. Why Netflix hasn't swooped down to reboot it I haven't a clue. I assume it may be Dan Curtis' family's rights. It's incredibly doable.
  6. Oh, there's more dirt on Megyn where that came from in the Megyn Kelly Melts Down thread.
  7. I don't think they'll push it as a narrative. I do think they'll give the claim too much airtime when it's unnecessary.
  8. Sara and Lecy were both very good this week, as was Galecki - the end stuff clearly means the David/Darlene/Blue/Justin Long quad is not over, IMO. The Jackie stuff was also very Jackie without being too goofy. Emma Kenney is finally finding a groove as well - I liked the car scene, and Darlene contrasting her parenting with Roseanne's both in word and action. It all clicked. (Also, Mark lipsyncing in the back cracked me up for some reason.) Loved seeing Dan with both David and Becky more. Those relationships are important and haven't been serviced in a long time. Like many, I also want more Geena. But really, the show and characters aren't missing a beat tonally from the original series - it's all the same stuff, issues, family material, just with a different configuration of leads. It's actually impressive. Is Becky wearing Mark's ring around her neck?
  9. No, it is not.
  10. They have been saying that - just not enough, and not without the recurring false equivalence. Today at least, that hasn't happened (yet).
  11. I wonder if the Berniacs will comment on one of their favorite Great Satans being targeted.
  12. Blessedly unrelated:
  13. Now deleted from the NYT story but still relevant:
  14. I also lived in NYC ten years. They will.
