This hard sell is the worst part of Frank's usual M.O. and it's gonna bite KT in the end. Already is. GH fans by and large are just not here for it, especially not with a couple or core characters like Dante and Lulu. They're an afterthought a lot of the time and it's crazy. That and her behavior will finish her off.

She has a fanbase. Not a large one. The Steve thing is the only reason she's back.

I think several of us thought that. I'm not sure I recall any explicit confirmation of that though and I think what they're going with is they met in college. I'm good with it.

We have other characters for those kind of roles (or can make new ones). I have a feeling Hayley's lows will make Leslie look soft by comparison.

Jackie was having work done for longer than that lol, but it didn't get real crazy IMO til the 2000s. She could still deliver reasonably til the late '00s, but she was rarely on by that point. I will say I think that when she had real scenes with TG she could still bring it, even in his last days. I remember her getting very real in some of their final scenes.

I think daytime has had worse exits/feuds and comebacks than the 2013-14 drama, and at least Ron is gone lol. Frank has also made nice with bigger burnt bridges in his past than Kanan before. I would def try to get him back. I'd recast again if I absolutely had to. Billy is great but I wouldn't go back there.

It's as simple as Michael unveiling A.J. (having known he's alive for some time, if not years) as his secret weapon to help take on Drew. That could open up the wounds re: Sonny/Carly, which Michael may start nursing more, and also allow Jason to finally grapple with that stuff, A.J.'s 'murder' and reckon with his new place in the Quartermaines more on top of having his brother back and having to repair that relationship. You even have Tracy and Ned having to reevaluate things with A.J., and of course Carly is in the mix. It all works.

Like his mutant spawn, Valentin doesn't need to exist. He's been a joke since the day he appeared. I have always preferred the idea of Helena simply using the legend of him as a diversion from a far more serious threat.

IMO the Hayley we had prior to this reveal was not compelling or viable as a long-term rival to Dani anymore. Just whiny Hayley faking a miscarriage bored me. Whereas this con moves her into a different and more urgent role that isn't about a triangle. Any future romantic rival for Dani with Bill would have to be someone more grounded.

The difference is that Hayley is here to kill in order to take her paper. I would liken Eva to Brooke more.

It reminds me of what Jackie Zeman (RIP) used to do at GH after getting too much work done. She started leaning on over-enunciating and doing kind of a cutesy voice and big eyes to push through in the last 15+ years.

I stand by what I said about Kirsten's past comings and goings - some that the show kept her on contract for I'm sure were warranted and understandable absences, others are more complicated. But this appears to be a serious medical issue which needs to be treated. I do hope she is back soon and in the thick of real story again, because she's recouped very well since 2024. I just wish they wouldn't once again waste her on Nathan.

I was remarking on that a few pages ago. So much has leveled up beginning with the kidnapping and Dani and Andre's wedding IMO, including some of the more rickety day to day dialogue. It's far from perfect but more scenes have real wit, layering and crackle, and some new dynamics are being shown. It's crazy they have me invested in Kermit Ted and Underpass June together too, two of my least tolerable characters a month ago. I don't think it's necessarily down to Thomson as this began a few weeks back, but they are definitely on a stronger track across the board IMO. Again, with the exception of the Tomas Zone and Ashley/Derek.

So embarrassing, from day one. I've been wishcasting how to undo it and bring on someone truly threatening forever lol.

I don't care who plays the mutant. I'd still send her on a bus off a cliff.

Knowing a little of her personality and work ethic in interviews I was not at all surprised in 2013 when she said she'd tried retirement, got bored at home quick and went right back to auditioning lol. And unlike many older soap stars she has gotten a surprising amount of primetime, etc. work in recent years and is even in a Hugh Jackman movie at Christmas. But I also suspect she is slowing down due to possible health stuff and her recent loss of her child, so I don't expect her back. I hope I'm wrong about her slowing down though; I hope she keeps working. It is nice to know that if we ever needed to see Viki Lord again, she's able atm. Even in a potentially limited capacity.

Yeah, Marquita has done great with this stuff. It was her constantly playing one-note, simpering bride Hayley for months that left her looking very limited. That was all a front. Who knows how much range she has for a more nuanced character, but for this one as of today she's great. The biggest weak point this show has left other than Tomas remains Ashley/Derek, who increasingly feel like afterthoughts atm. That could change on a dime of course, but they're still a bit islanded again. It's enough to make me hope Y&R's role for Tamara Braun comes and goes like so many of their newbies, because I'd draft her in a hot minute to play Ashley's big sister or something and dump Jen Jacob. Of course they'd need a younger white woman, so maybe just a new pair of sisters.

I think it likely would've been swung with Alan even in a small way had the show gone off the air in 2012 as they feared - I think Robin was also going to find Trevor St. John's Victor Lord Jr. from the OLTL cliffhanger in January, thereby resolving that show as well. But that all went away when GH was saved. I'd still bring Sean Kanan back. I don't care. Agreed with all of the above re: Chad, but it was long since time he went.

I think he had chemistry with some people, but the writing wasn't there and usually the interesting female leads for him weren't either. (I was very fond of pitching an unusual Michael/Maxie pairing with Michael as the straight man opposite her, but that was my thing lol) I actually do think Michael and Starr worked, but they were very saccharine and all the depth was drained from his character, like most of the men on the show once Cartini arrived. When they actually start hiring new women on contract and not just more recurring hookers on the come-up for Gibson then I'll be pleased.

BTG: October 2025 Discussion Thread
I can believe it, but on this one I can also potentially believe they may have changed direction. Either is totally plausible, as the Randy inclusion in her story wasn't that long ago. Still, most of the other recent big twists I do think were baked in from the jump and in her original bible, so why not this? What I'm trying to remember is if we know exactly when Hayley and Naomi met. Was it college or earlier (and how many years out of college are they)? Because if it was earlier and this is a scheme it would have to be a very, very long con. This show has leveled up considerably in the last month, starting with the hostage crisis (however silly I found a fair amount of it) and the Vegas wedding - the scripts and character development over the last couple weeks have gotten much stronger for me, particularly the material surrounding Martin and Smitty and then Dani and Andre. The McBride story has obviously ramped up and Donnell is very strong (and I still am ten toes down for Vanessa/LB - I think she's one of the most layered characters on the show, however terribly flawed). They've managed to tentatively begin to salvage June and Ted by going full Agnes Nixon with an unlikely match of rich and poor. And now this. It's a lot of systemic improvement to start taking stock of, even if we're still dealing with The Tomas Zone dragging the two young female stars down.
