  1. Tracey Ross, like most of the cast of PSSNS, was quite bad.
  2. Again: Dump half of 'em in the river! I'm good!
  3. I don't think there is much to say yet. So I wouldn't overhype them, is my point (not to you). But I do think you might as well start somewhere, and last week is as good as any. It's not like we saw much of them to begin with until now. I don't mind them using younger teens though, I'm used to it with Lucky and Robin and some of the OLTL youth in the '90s. I would argue they were all relevant even if they weren't in hot and heavy romance automatically.
  4. Oh, there are way too many kids and at least half need to be off the show. I still can't believe Maxie has three when she didn't even need one. Donna and Avery should not exist, let alone Scout. Violet and Charlotte should be sent to the Shadow Realm. And it's not like the new boys are some amazing rising teen scene either lol. It's way too soon if the boys playing Danny or Rocco are any good, though I think they've shown a little promise. What I do like for now though is the new writing has taken pains to try to make their personalities a bit different and make them stand out. Even the afterschool special aspect with the vape plot point goes to some character building with the green new Danny and Jake getting to know the tiresome Michael Easton. So it's a nice start. But not some huge deal.
  5. Carly has never stopped being obsessed with Jason, in fairness.
  6. No, I agree. I've said that before; she made that clear choice onscreen in 2012, after he first 'died.' And it was a smart choice and I admired it. Her going back never made sense to me, not with her son or daughter. I agree she's over it and has been for many years (and probably should've stayed with Drew). I don't care about her relationship with Dante but I am glad she's evolved. I also think she should probably leave the show, but I have many other people I think should do that first lol. As for today, here are some long-winded crossposted thoughts. I have never bought T.J. Version IDK let alone Cyborg Jordan, and today is no exception. Tajh Bellow is a decent actor but it is too late for me to care about this character again. And Jordan, who I've never had much use for, cannot vanish fast enough for me with this terrible actress. Both of them can dip, along with Molly and Sasha and many others. Anything that writes this crew out works for me. My boy Jake's latest hairstyle needs work but at least he isn't rocking the Jason Morgan 'do anymore. I liked the brownstone set detail in the background across the street outside Liz's entryway, it at least makes you a bit more inclined to believe this set which bears almost no resemblance really is Thee Brownstone like they expect us to. Jake looks as enthused at Michael Easton appearing on the scene as I am at this point. But the scenes with that group were mature and nice enough at least. I love the various adults mixing it up with different kids and how they're carefully re-threading the family/friend relationships in ways this show just generally has not bothered with - Carly, Alexis and Liz with Danny, even Easton with Jake is all smart stuff other people wouldn't think of. They did the same at Scout's party with Alexis and Drew, Jason's boys with Kristina and Blaze and Willow, etc. As I said before they've already taken pains to start delineating Danny and Rocco as different personalities, which is huge and something this show almost never does anymore. The kid playing Danny is green but has some presence, he's not a walking nightmare like that twink who played Oscar. Hudson West is still the only younger player who comes anywhere close to Kimberly or JJ to me, but his material is not as strong as the other boys atm. Regardless there's no time like the present with this stuff, and it's intelligently done and adds community texture. And we've all discussed how nice it is to let Anna actually be smart. Kirsten Storms is having a good time being here for the first time in a long while, and for the first time in a long while I'm feeling the same watching her. The Spixie stuff is consistently fun to watch for me, which is a weird thing to say as someone who stopped being able to tolerate them around 2010. They are never going to convince me milquetoast Sasha is the Face of Deception, especially not when she keeps turning up in this 1996 minidress ensemble. Starting to think again this is tied into the WSB and/or government. That two-man team on the roof didn't seem like the mob, and why would Jason not just come in when Anna asked? The one thing I don't buy is Sonny turning on Jason this fast, not unless he's off his meds or still harboring resentment re: Jason/Carly 2021, or preferably both.
  7. I mean I wasn't a fan of any of it because I hate Jason, but I will give it to Steve and KT, they had chemistry and it was a hot love scene lol. I do think Kelly Monaco has been working hard lately these last couple weeks, but I think Sam is as played out a character as Jason.
  8. That was a crazy situation. I have discussed it at length on SON but I will say again: You know GH, so you know most of the time over the years it takes Jason a blood test, an 18-month waiting period and a counsel with God to get with a woman, and Steve prefers not to do big love scenes. You also probably know that Steve has had a veto on Jason and Carly since the late '90s, when he told the writers (including Patrick Mulcahey in those days) he no longer wanted them paired romantically. And untl 2021 or so Jason and Sam was the tiresome law of the land. But something went down BTS in a big way all of a sudden in Steve's last year. Kelly Monaco, who had been very vocal about not being into a reunion and preferring Sam stay with Billy Miller's Drew/NuJason after Steve first returned in '17, was checked out for a long time. And around the end of 2020 Jason and Sam suddenly and unceremoniously ended with very little fanfare after almost 20 years. Then over the course of the next 10-11 months Jason suddenly gets with not one but two new women. First Britt, who he has no long history with, gets a really explicit and passionate love scene from Steve which he generally doesn't do a lot of - I had not seen him turn it on like that since maybe the Liason ONS in 2006(?), if not earlier. Then they turn on a dime mid-summer and have Jason fall for Carly again during their 'fake marriage' to try to keep the mob together. (They chickened out on having Sonny, who'd just come back from the dead, walk in on Jason and Carly consummating their wedding night - they pulled back from both at the literal last minute; I think he enters the house right before they're about to do it, and then had Jason just sort of explain things to Sonny and they let bygones be bygones, then the whole plotline ended immediately and Jason went off to Greece to die in a cave lol.) It was crazy. I still don't know what all happened there, or where this will go now.
  9. As Britt's #1 hater since 2012 I am here to tell you she is dead as shît. "The Hook" (Heather Webber, though that seems like a hasty rewrite) got her on New Year's Day(?) 2023 when Britt threw down with her to save Joss on the docks. Britt survived that fight but got hit with Heather's poisoned hook and later died in Obrecht's arms, but not before the show threw an insane onscreen super-gay farewell party for her over NYE because I think Britt was already planning on leaving town. I know she had her fans but I'm sorry, they threw that big a party for Britt?! Anyway, I believe it may have been KT's request so she couldn't be tempted to come back. She was notably pissed to be left holding the bag when Steve quit/was fired and she couldn't do the Jason/Britt story.
  10. She has my attention for the first time in years, and also looks better. The scenes (and script) with her, Spin and Felicia have been genuinely good since at least the last week of February.
  11. We've been talking about this in this thread and the last for awhile. I've had my suspicions about Ava being behind all this for a minute. My take still is that it's cat and mouse: Ava didn't know Jason had infiltrated whatever this outfit is, and Jason may not know Ava is involved.
  12. PAS or Jordi V. both would have been a fine Jagger, even if Target Keith Urban is doing a solid job with these scripts.
  13. I don't think they tried with her and TK at all IMO. I remember watching for it and they had minimal scenes. They had serious chemistry on LOV/TC despite his scuzzy character. But by the time LW came in the show had already successfully marginalized TK/Lorenzo for almost two years following Tamara and Ted dangerously shaking up the show in late '03/early '04. They were taking no chances going back there, and didn't. It was easy to fob TK off on Skye's obsessively devoted fanbase (another character Guza didn't care about) or side player Lois and leave him there til it was time to die. It's too bad they didn't make Roger Steve Webber to begin with. That might have worked with Carly twice. But I don't even want to think about RH on the show anymore. To me Sean Kanan remains the biggest missed opportunity and I'd still have him back today, with any Carly.
  14. It's just not that serious - Killers and Poor Things are both great movies and did well. Emma Stone's career will be fine.
  15. I don't think LW and Steve have any romantic chemistry tbh. (Platonic chemistry they have in spades.) But I'm equally bored with Jason and Liz, and another round of Jasam makes me ponder self-harm. I frankly don't think Jason needs to be with anyone.
  16. Vee replied to DRW50's topic in Primetime & Streaming
Ncuti was among the returning Kens in Ryan Gosling's Oscar number last night.
  17. Llanview's own Scott Evans (OLTL) appeared again with his Barbie co-stars in Ryan Gosling's immortal musical number during last night's Oscars.
  18. Not Vivica looking like Phylicia Rashad in that thumbnail.
  19. I can see VR doing The Gates. I don't think she will ever be back at Y&R/Sony given the long-standing status quo, which is a real shame. But yes, as others have said, if they want a good lead-in for the show and are reinvesting in soap opera then they'll still need to flip Y&R in a big way, and that means finally, truly materially embracing the Black audience they have shunned or fobbed off with lip service for almost 20 years. If it was me and Dru is off the table (and you can't at least have her do a ghost/vision appearance for the kids) it would start with just bringing back Mishael Morgan's Hillary. That's the closest to Dru you're gonna get without all the BTS drama that keeps Dru gone.
  20. It was a shameless ripoff of FV/RC's own Ford brothers debacle at OLTL a couple years before too. Trashy reality show, hunky reality show producer, secret family, etc. I couldn't stand anyone involved in that. But people acted like LM was giving these Emmy-caliber performances because once Trey mercifully died she was running around town caterwauling about Sonny for a couple weeks. I think Wagger has benefitted a great deal from some great scripts ever since PM/EK's hybrid work began airing. (Seriously, watch it!) But I still have no interest in him remaining long-term or being paired with anyone. Maybe a fling with someone and then out, I don't know.
  21. A segment of people really took up for her on other forums and social media at the time, which I found ridiculous. She was terrible. I have zero interest in anything T.J. and Molly do at this point.
  22. I'm happy for Emma Stone who did great work, but I do think Lily Gladstone was robbed.
  23. I could not stand her. And people got so mad when you said she was bad.
  24. Not you with your relentless Oppenheimer security clearance hearing-coded posts! I do think you're right that Lexi should be allowed to age however she likes and certain material (specifically Dante's bedside) would hit differently for me with her there. That being said I think Mansi is doing a very solid job with a boring storyline, and I'm not just referring to the surrogacy lol. Her romance with this elevated dayplayer only works because the actors sell it, and I'm not sure Lexi could. I remember that mess with Ashley Jones. I think both executive mismanagement and disinterest re: the Davis girls for over a decade and certain elements of LA's performance had left the character in a rut, and now it feels somewhat new again. Would I blink if Lexi came back? Not really, I expect it eventually. But would I expect her to get any story, or really throw me for a loop onscreen and grab me again? Nope. So it's a vicious cycle.
