  1. That should be her exit story AFAIC, in a few years. Once backed into a corner she plays the cancer card. Then after she's exposed or about to be, you finally get Who Killed Willow Quartermaine? What amuses me is how some fans seem to still demand this story end, that Drew or Willow be off the show, etc. But they don't stop watching. These characters are the prime movers (along with the new Michael) and have been for a long time. If not for Mulcahey shaking some of this show from its stasis, we probably wouldn't be here. It's these love/hate characters that keep topping themselves, and the fact that Willow's trajectory has begun to mirror Annie Dutton's from GL (or Kristen's from DAYS, albeit not as extreme), that the show is in a stable place. People are outraged by these characters' behavior but they can't stop watching. That's soaps. Some viewers have forgotten that (or in the case of BTG, you have new viewers learning it for the first time re: Leslie, etc). Note as well that she gloved up. This was premeditated. I wonder if Michael actually did try to frame her with the gun, or if they both tried to frame each other and it ended up back at Liz's.
  2. I will give Nazneen Contractor credit; she's often dreadful, but maybe the more formal atmosphere of the courtroom (and the script) made her very strong today. Turner took Drew apart well.
  3. I still don't think much of JJ's performance but I'll keep my mind open. They do seem to be planning to use SPOILER Jordi Vilasuso's lab tech Grayson Perez with Ashley, and I'm willing to see what happens if Ashley finally surprises me. I'm just glad if they're leaving her thing with Andre in the rearview.
  4. They're already doing that, which I find to be a waste of time IMO. Jacinda is a fairly bland dayplayer and a story Michael has had before. Michael is an emerging leading man and needs a strong, new range of leading lady contract options. GH needs to commit to the next generation, and to their credit they are increasingly making moves towards it.
  5. Jacinda's father? Jacinda who he has been fúcking like it's leaving Netflix on Friday??
  6. ChelseaKat does need to be a much bigger thing, as does Dani's business. Same with the nascent Martin/Bill political storyline. I think MM has hinted that Smitty in the workplace will become a bigger storyline soon, which makes me happy. I did love the cotillion drama yesterday. That's how soaps can and should educate for their viewers, as opposed to the more random speechifying the show often likes to engage in for so many other moments. There was real specificity to the discussion. I also loved Andre and Dani being domestic in the kitchen today!
  7. I mean, Ezra is a toad, period. I do think DC gave a bit of nuance to those moments with Genie where Boyle warned her about how Sidwell could destroy lives and he's seen it before - I suppose you could tell a little tragic yarn of a story about this once-idealistic man who is now kind of a sad, pathetic joke. But I don't think there need be much more to him. I think if this Sidwell, etc. saga goes on much longer it is only a matter of time before Boyle ends up like Judge Herron. (I initially thought the scene with Dante and Nathan where Nathan mishandled evidence a few days ago, a clear tipoff, was about the Herron case. It wasn't, but it did admittedly make me wonder if Nathan executed the judge for Sidwell.)
  8. I think they wanted to put Cady in a role, which was a fine idea but it hasn't gone anywhere. While I would like to do more with her I wouldn't hate if they've just phased her out.
  9. SOD on the shooter reveal (with interview).
  10. I think that option is very viable, as is Willow trapping him in the marriage with her own ammo against him. She could easily have dug up stuff re: him and Sidwell, etc. It would also be fine by me if Drew knew or if Michael did. I don't want Michael and Willow back together for good, but hatesex would definitely work now.
  11. Thank God it wasn't Scout or some shít. I'm supposed to watch that little girl try to act this out like I care about her at all or she can deliver a performance? What impact would that have? It's not someone like Danny or Rocco (or Jake, big up to Jake wherever he is) where we've grown to know and care about those boys.
  12. Tad Martin needs to stop calling Laura ‘my beloved baby sister’ when he has known her a maximum of 5 years. I could swear he used to do that to Jake or others on AMC. Alexis playing Tracy was probably the smartest lawyering I have seen on a soap in many years. Even if she stole that bluff from A Few Good Men, it's a damn good one.
  13. Martin has never played when it comes to those kids, while Smitty is the soft touch. The consistency I appreciate lol
  14. I gagged when he said he and Jacinda had hit it no less than 20 times. Joss cocking her head and Michael's facial response in the gallery killed me. He's rethinking that bracelet!
  15. Willow needs to get off and get away with it for awhile.
  16. Dan Cosgrove is transforming into Barbara Bush before my very eyes.
  17. Murray Bartlett (GL) is in A24's The Death of Robin Hood with Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer.
  18. Eva and Izaiah should be talking less and fúcking more.
  19. I have wanted Mona to get family from almost Day 1. She's great. And I would kill to have Loren Lott join up.
  20. "Mixed" would be a very polite word for Malone II. It was largely seen as a disaster. And I say that as someone who found some merit in that almost 2-year period. Malone did still have a real POV and personality to his work. But it had massive, massive issues. All of his classic excesses were let loose with none of the care in the day to day dialogue or upkeep at the production level from the '90s. The heavy micromanaging from the new network regime re: its preferred characters and stories crippled it too, of course. I can and have written about Malone II too much over the years because Monday through Friday it was just an insane, bewildering experience. It felt like watching a beloved elder relative get addicted to meth. It was also compulsively watchable for that same reason. Watching DAYS and OLTL back to back in that period was truly nuts, because they were not that different. When you find yourself watching Dorian and Blair howling for help in a secret room full of Indiana Jones poison spike traps below Llanfair at 2 PM on a Wednesday afternoon you're kind of through the looking glass. The Ron Carlivati era near the end of the run (which I think most of the audience would cite as the show's last creative and critical revival) had great highs and massive lows, but that is a whole other gigantic can of worms given how messy he has become. Malone II's madness walked so Ron's current craziness could run.
  21. Does block voting play into this at all, or am I misunderstanding the process? JFP perfected that scheme, particularly at ABC.
  22. They also mentioned a cotillion background for the girls maybe 2-3 weeks ago. Maybe longer. From Kat or Chelsea's pasts, IIRC.
  23. I agree; I was just pointing out what can happen with a contract add on occasion. As I said, I don't think Joey is going anywhere any time soon. But I do think that eventually his demise is in the cards. Meaning?
