  1. Chris Hayes is not that bad IMO, but he still has a vestigial burnout left streak from his formative days that occasionally surfaces and is easily influenced by nonsense and turns obnoxious. Fortunately, Lawrence O'Donnell is there.
  2. Every minute of this lengthy video is worth it. I hope they put a YT link up in the AM.
  3. A moment of clarity for Semafor and its storied staff, who print the story anyway:
  4. Eh, again I don't think it has. This is another very online, very Beltway media we-are-what-matters thing that doesn't translate to the real world. Most of the public either didn't care about the hour, were out west and/or will only watch the speeches and YT clips tomorrow anyway - that's just how our media landscape works now. As even some of their own pundits discussing it noted all this, they also said Beltway people often thinks strictly in terms of NYC and DC hours and network programming from 20-30 years ago ruling the day, and are out of touch with how the public consumes politics. Overall, minus Raskin's Rodney Dangerfield act it was a solid Day 1. (And I still suspect a future POTUS performance from Warnock.)
  5. He's just mad he's not in the big chair anymore. Happens to a lot of those guys. CNN (or any number of networks) always try to set the agenda in the early minutes or hours and then get blown back by public opinion and grudgingly walk it back. The speeches all went fine (well, except Raskin) and Biden did great. I think a lot of the Beltway heads were quietly hoping Joe was going to be sundowning on camera or something after 8 PM. Ashley Biden also gave quite a speech. She's someone I could see running someday. Biden's full speech (timestamped): I love how you can see some of the family and Kamala all talking to and coaching little Beau at the end of the video of the speech above - CBS has a closer angle than the main DNC feed. I forgot he was just a little baby in Joe's arms for the inauguration night four years ago.
  6. The protests really haven't made any impact so far - even less than I expected, tbh. All we got was Tapper and Dana Bash whining that Joe was on too late. Biden's speech seems very well received by the public, it's the Beltway that was scraping around for anything to work with and so far haven't found much (and have admitted it was a great speech, those who weren't begging him to 'reach out to the center'). Meanwhile: And of course, the intolerable Glenn Kessler:
  7. Great news. Warnock came pretty close to Obama '04 for me tonight. I knew then he would be POTUS. I won't be surprised if Warnock runs and wins.
  8. Speaking of Pelosi: I have a lot of complicated feelings about what happened (as opposed to what's happened since July) and I'm still pretty disgusted with how a lot of it went down, but I have never doubted what Pelosi was about: Winning.
  9. Very emotional closer from Joe (and a great VP joke).
  10. Walz has been choked up through much of Biden's speech.
  11. Biden also classily acknowledges the protestors outside (who really haven't had much of an Impact today at all) 'have a point.'
  12. Huge ovation for Joe. (Gwen Walz among others cried, as Gwen Walz has cried at virtually every speaker lol.) He's doing just fine. From earlier: Warnock's amazing barnburner speech from earlier. I never doubted him a few years ago.
  13. Warnock burned it down! Incredible speech. Biden is on now.
  14. That abortion testimonial segment was brutal but very good. Warnock! Rumor of the night is Beyonce introduces Kamala on Thursday.
  15. Hillary got emotional at the end of her wonderful speech. You can see the end here. Gwen Walz was notably crying in the audience. Raskin's speech was not fantastic. Jasmine Crockett is up now and is doing well.
  16. Hillary is on now. So much for the protestor chaos. It's pretty orderly.
  17. Watching the show while posting about it is also an option.
  18. This account tends to keep tabs on the schedule. I believe you can also access the listings by perusing FreeVee on your browser re: the live Primetime Soaps channel too. There seems to be some talk of the show skipping eps in Season 8 per the upcoming schedule but maybe it is a programming glitch, like the similarly-named eps from later seasons getting swapped into Season 3 earlier in the stream.
  19. If you know which ep and want to check yourself, it looks like your best bet is somewhere on Saturday or overnight between then and Sunday. I'm just excited to see it regularly trending and people weighing in.
  20. While the pollster is allegedly reputable in the UK it's barely known here. I continue to believe we will take GA (just as we did in 2020 and in key races since) and possibly AZ. The execrable Jonathan Martin, who loves access, reporting on Trumpworld and talking down to the libs on Twitter, has a sneering take on the Dems with regrettably a few decent points amidst the backhanded compliment tone of the whole thing: And now: Hm:
  21. Whereas I felt Valene was kind of a doormat crushed by life and the Ewings on Dallas, and didn't fully find herself until leaving Gary again in S4, IMO. Their quick reunion and flight to Los Angeles was kind of a fantasy for a long time.
  22. Salem's Children with Janice Lynde? What in the hell...
