  1. That's precisely the kind of card Maeve Ryan would send to her friends and family. 😊❤🎄
  2. ^ That's a theme I've always liked, along with Roberta Flack. 😎
  3. SB had some really fun and creative Christmas episodes. Thanks for posting these. 😊🎄
  4. Probably a little of both, but most likely it was more of the latter.
  5. I totally think that the fault there was on the writers and not actress Geraldine Court. She went on to later soap success on GL. The other big flaw was pairing Ann with Nick. There was absolutely NO chemistry between GC and Gerald Gordon, but that may be due to the fact that they apparently didn't get along in real life. @TimWil can elaborate on that point.
  6. Nope...they stayed connected through loveless marriages to Kirk "The Jerk" Cranston and Santana Andrade, respectively. In hindsight, they should have just killed Eden off instead of having her just up and leave the way she did. She and Cruz had gone through so much together and had kids, and the bond would have only been severed by death...or a soap opera death leaving the door open for such a popular performer to return if she so chose.
  7. Here are the SOD synopses from SFT, if anyone's interested: https://classicsodsft.tumblr.com/
  8. Quinn!! Petronia Paley was one of the show's great unsung treasures. 😊
  9. She was one of a kind. Hard to believe, but next month will mark 24 years since Sherry's passing. 😢
  10. Definitely. The show was blessed with two very talented juvenile actresses in Eileen Kearney and Jennifer Houlton to bring out Greta's complexities. Trivia: Eileen and her brothers, Mark (who originated the role of Billy) and Michael (who played a couple of minor roles on the show) Kearney were first cousins of the late John Spencer of LA Law and The West Wing fame. Their mothers were sisters.
  11. Nancy Addison and Cali Timmons left the show at the same time, with the explanation that Jill and Maggie were going to Australia (!!!) to care for their ill mother. The door was left wide open for NA and CT to return if they so chose, which they did for the show's final episodes. I think Jill and Faith both sold their shares of the Coleridge brownstone to Roger. Merry Christmas to you all...and keep in mind that your Christmas could never be as bad as the one Jack Fenelli had in 1976!! Yikes!!
  12. Thank you!!! 😊 ❤ 🎄 🎁
  13. I think Lane appreciates it all more now, from his post-SB and GH interviews. As Carly Simon famously sang, "these are the good old days".
  14. He was a pioneer in that he made ugly Christmas sweaters cool. He was ahead of his time!! 😊🎄
  15. I get what you are trying to say. Do I believe that there are women out there who would lie about being harassed/assaulted (and have lied) to get money and attention? Do I believe that men out there have been falsely accused of harassing/assaulting women? Yes on both counts. Lying and greed isn't gender specific...and it makes things so much worse for people who really HAVE been victimized.
  16. Speaking of Doug Watson and his alter ego, Mac Cory, I'm in the mood for his Christmas toasts...now more than ever. I have a feeling that he was a surrogate father/grandfather figure for many audience members...and maybe some cast and crew members as well. ❤
  17. They were foster parents to a baby girl - Elan - for awhile. This had to have been towards the end of Rod Arrants' time on the show.
  18. He totally should have. In the late 1980s, when SB was sweeping the Emmys, he would have stood a great chance of getting at least one trophy. I should go and watch Mason's Christmas Carol fantasy where he was Scrooge. Channing got a horse while Mason got a suit. "I hated that suit!" 😂
  19. My mom watched that show all the time...mainly because she had a crush on Joe Penny. 😂
  20. I thought that he had been planning to leave to start his own soap, but it's all academic now.
  21. Nick AND Althea were never better written than they were under the pen of Rita Lakin.
  22. People might have escape routes, but can still be frozen in fear...especially if it's a man who has considerable power over a woman in both size (height and weight) and professional status. I know I was, and it wasn't even a work situation.
  23. Agreed about the funny part...Lane Davies owned/owns that category. Why he never won an Emmy or was never even nominated for one is a travesty.
  24. God bless her, Bethel worked pretty much up until the end. ❤
