Welcome @BoldKara ! The owner of the vault is @ChickenNuggetz92 Anyone can upload as guest contributor. I've been digitizing some VHS that someone here mailed to me. If you need help or advice, PM me and I can either explain to you what I did, or I can convert them myself (and that offer is open to anyone with tapes as long as they are in NTSC format for North America). It would be great if you uploaded them; even if we eventually get up to them it would be nice having the originals without subtitles. Personally I would vote that the partial episodes get filed under clips in their own folder.

Today's was so bad! The carnival didn't even start til the second half, and there was a total of 6 minutes of "summer fun." The rest of the episode was totally boring (actually so was the carnival...). I wasn't happy with B&B's choices either but at least they picked episodes where something actually happened.

I would be down for this theme but these choices are horrendous, nothing before 2003!? I'd want to see Michael attacking Christine, Kevin setting himself on fire or being beaten up in jail... the 2003 and 2005 episodes sound good, but the ashram wedding and a 2016 episode... UGH. As the days are dwindling I am just hoping we get another couple of rare gems. My biggest wishes are to see the Victor/Ashley abortion confrontation, Victor holding Michael in the dungeon, 70s eps involving Phillip's death, Victor taking over Jabot, and the Rick Daros story Victor getting harpooned in St. Croix. I'm wishing for a location shoots week that includes that last one plus a Black Knight week for Victor (if GH can do 3 weeks of Sonny...). Really doubt we'll get any of it though. And for a catfight week, definitely the Lauren/Sheila lab fight and the Matt/Nick fight at Crimson lights. I also really hope they don't pull a GH and re-air the last couple of weeks from April. They're on All Access anyway, and they could be condensed into a recap episode or extra long "previouslies."

Awesome BTW I've been meaning to ask if there an easy way to see what's new? All the folders seem to be dated by when they were created. The new files do have a flair to show they're recently uploaded, but one would have to open all the folders to see that... or am I missing something?

I noticed someone was trying to upload episodes from 2000 and 2003 to the Vault and they're not working (which I assume they know cause they tried multiple times). Maybe I can help? If that person is in here, you can post or PM me.

I used to go to soap events they had on the east coast, so it was mostly ATWT and GL actors that I met. I think the only person I ever met that was on B&B was Rick Hearst (back when he was Alan-Michael on GL). He was super nice, it was a charity baseball game and he even had his young children there. And then we ran into them again at McDonald's afterwards, haha.

I'm female and my dad also banned me from watching at age 10 because it was too sexy. 🤣 My mom would tape the shows for me and we'd watch them after school and I'd switch to educational programs when my dad got home from work! I remember once I really wanted to watch my first Daytime Emmys but it was on at night so I had to play sick so I could go to bed early and watch in my room.

Y&R and B&B seemed to have much less detailed spoilers than other shows. It would be more like a vague description of what would happen that week than day to day breakdowns. I liked that because there was still so much genuine surprise. I remember once someone wrote a letter so Soap Opera Digest complaining that Y&R and B&B were the most boring soaps. They "proved it" by the fact that the spoilers were not specific therefore nothing ever happened on the shows. The editors actually had to put in a clarification that the Bell shows chose not to give daily spoilers as policy. One thing that fascinated me was B&B was so much more popular than Y&R even though Y&R was #1 in the US and the more serious show.... I guess it had a lot to do with the format with B&B being 30 minutes and a smaller cast and simpler storyline to follow with only a couple of core families. B&B seemed to have caught on like fire everywhere whereas Y&R really caught on in France but got cancelled in other countries like Italy.

I was so shocked when I found out it was the most popular show in the world! I remember as a kid my grandfather would travel to Europe and I would look through the magazines he brought home and they had little recaps of the soaps and I just couldn't believe they were covered! (Also was surprised how much more casual the European mags were with nudity, hahaha). When my relatives would visit the US my job was to update them on the current plotlines of "Beautiful" so they could brag to their friends that they knew what would happen. It was in the 90s before most people had internet.

I enjoy reading all your perspectives from different countries. In the US hardly anyone even knows the show exists haha. If anything they would know it's a soap and therefore assume it's stupid and be shocked that any soap is still on at all. No one would have a clue what the show is about or the characters or anything.

It's kind of disappointing. It's a repeat after all and it was posted online. If they reair it again it's taking away an episode from us. It's not like that one is so great that it must air on TV. Hoping more people will post stuff there. You don't need an account to do so and you can open the link in incognito mode. The B&B vault seems to be far more active than the Y&R. Sadly I just noticed BobTV who was posting a ton of soaps on YT (used to be genoacityguy) got his account terminated. I wish I knew how to get in touch with him. This is the worst YT has been in a while and the vault provides a good backup.

It was so maddening though how everyone acted like she was a bad person for wanting to take Phyllis to court. Yeah Chris is fine now but it was attempted murder! LOL. I love it.

I don't understand. Is Amy choosing to stop (which is sad but understandable, since she uploaded 500 episodes already) or is the site stopping? So will 750 plus be on RTL Lounge? Can that be streamed online or it's only on TV? I'm actually in touch with one other person who just did a free trial at videoland and re-recorded some of the same episodes Amy did but I think his trial expired.

Rick Hearst is one of the rare soap actors who was brilliant in EVERY role. Thanks for those, I've wanted to see that lingerie again forever.
