  1. Agree the NYE episode was really good. Other shows could learn that the two people in a room talking setup can actually still be riveting (and can still use varied sets!). I can't stand Valentin and Carly individually but they're actually interesting together. Poor Britt just wanted to hook up and blow off steam (and Jason still owes her from the time she got dolled up in her hotel room only for him to announce he was marrying Carly) and Jason was looking at her with his puppy dog eyes all "let me save your life" lol. She doesn't want an emotional attachment while he apparently has been celibate for a while and wants something deep (but not so deep that he can't get out if Sonny, Michael, or Carly need him). There must be a happy medium!
  2. BTG: Better pacing, more "show" and not "tell." Hopefully season 2 has a budget for some modest sets and location shooting as part of tight story arcs. I like the day to day character work but they need more purpose to the storylines. More soap vets with some gravitas, not just hiring middle-aged good looking guys. I like that they had a mostly newbie cast and they've settled in after a year, but next time they cast a key character, let's see someone who will really bring it. B&B: It is what it is, and does not claim to be anything else... I don't have high expectations, but I'd like to see them carry some storylines through without abruptly ending and restarting them on a loop. Like, your villain gets miraculously released from jail and actually sticks around and mixes it up with everyone else instead of immediately doing the same things and getting killed/locked up again. Y&R: I don't see a need to give specific notes, it needs a complete overhaul. They need showrunners with intelligence who care, who will fight for it, and it's just not going to happen. GH: It's pretty good, just stay away from clones and memories on USB and freezing the world. I'm low key terrified how cringe the "Faison final project" could be. I have my own personal preferences which characters/couples I would prefer to see, but they do a good job balancing a huge cast.
  3. Heh, did you catch the other day when they pretended Faith was at Sharon's house? (looked it up, 12/19). Noah and Sienna and were all "Oh, isn't it nice that Faith was here! Too bad she had to leave already! But it was so nice to meet her, she's sweet! Now she left with her security detail!" WTAF. The old school way of not mentioning unseen characters was actually better. They over-explain so much, it's crazy. I didn't need to be told Claire was sooo busy wrapping presents that she couldn't come to Billy's house. I would not expect Claire to be sitting in on Billy's visit with his kids, cause she isn't one of them.
  4. Lord, the way JG scrolled wikipedia to come up with the Victor/Nikki and Jack/Diane Christmas gifts. And what was with the Sally Emmy bait speech to Victoria, of all people? And it just droned on and on and on.
  5. Michael Easton portrays the dead dead Shawn, kidnaps Lauren and chains her to either a sewer or a small room filled with garbage, as Michael coordinates the search at Crimson Lights. Esther wipes down the tables, looking appropriately concerned. Lauren is rescued and the couple has a romantic reunion at the GCAC suite, which Phyllis barges in on. All agree Phyllis is a wonderful friend.
  6. I would love a meta scene where Matt Clark comments on how GC has changed, except his old stomping grounds, the coffee house.
  7. Alexa Havins is so good but it really is a shame the writers took away all the spunk and fun.
  8. Is there a time stamp for when he talks about exiting BTG? I skimmed but couldn't find it.
  9. Not terrible choices but would have loved to have seen something we haven't seen. I wonder why they would show Kay's party when the Chancellor Mansion isn't even shown anymore. Wonder if it or Jill is coming back.
  10. Omg that's a shocker. What a beautiful and thorough article in the Hollywood Reporter. So many details I never knew. Story wise I'd like it if we learned Luke really died saving women from being trafficked after faking his death on the train in 2022, taking over Bobbie's work. a sort of redemption for what Luke was.
  11. Is the Abbott launch party not getting cancelled this time because no one showed up? 🤣
  12. All narrated from the sofa in her room at the GCAC!
  13. I generally prefer these clip shows over the day to day "action," but this one was pretty boring considering it's always the same scenes that we've seen for CLB and TEB's anniversaries. The staging of these is getting worse and worse... Victor's tribute for example was a big party, Lauren's special was that lame event at Society where we only saw them in the lobby but at least they had Gloria and Fenmore there... now it's pretending Gloria was on the phone and Fen texted them... they just sink lower and lower. Lauren was even worried Gloria would butt in... apparently she lives in town, under a bridge somewhere. They've also stopped showing clips of anyone who's not already in the episode.
  14. I liked it fine. I wasn't expecting anything more than a party at the club with holiday decorations. It was entertaining and there was humor. I liked that it was something less than formal, with some really cute coats and sparkly sweaters. Festive. The pretending there was ice skating and all was cringe. I don't buy the Greg Vaughn character as a doctor.
  15. The big action scene last week was literally Victor taking over MattClark's company while he sped around in a car chase against a CGI background. 🤣
  16. To the poster named LifeRepublic1382, unfortunately your upload to the Y&R Vault did not go through if you want to try again please. ☹️ B&B fans... can anyone help with the folder titled "Random Items to be Sorted - Delete if it already exists" A lot of them are undated. If you all can confirm those are all years we have fully and in good quality, I will go ahead and delete.
  17. Jason taking care of Britt was so intimate, loved it. But then you just know even if they'd slept together and Carly called about an intruder in her house, he would have gone running, and then I understand why Britt pushes him away every time.
  18. The storyline with Madison feeling unsupported by Chelsea with her mom is actually interesting because it's different and topical without being overly political, but maybe it would have been nice to like, show it? They are getting to be like Y&R, too much narrating. We should be seeing the dynamics of dinner with her mom instead of being told. It could be done at a restaurant if creating a house set is an issue.
  19. I thought Kristina had more or less implied to Sonny's face that he was just as abusive as if he'd hit a woman (which Sonny insisted he would NEVER do!). I loved that.
  20. What a great idea for a topic! I first learned about concepts like shareholders and stocks and board meetings from watching Y&R as a kid (when they actually showed the business stuff onscreen!). It certainly isn't discussed regularly on television and I wouldn't have heard about it IRL. I feel like I also know a lot of dates of actual historical events because of researching preemptions.
  21. I suspect another reason GH doesn't show old classics is they haven't been properly digitized. On the rare occasion they show them (I believe they reran Sonny and Jason marathons during the pandemic) IIRC they were still in SD. The quality was barely better than YouTube rips. CBS has its archives nicely digitized in HD already. Then you add the extra work of the music rights and actor residuals and why bother.
  22. Yeah, they look insane ranting and raving that he's Matt Clark and him saying he's not and he's clearly correct. If he looks like Matt why can't they call the police?
  23. That's a very sweet story ❤️ My grandmother would always declare "she's a bitch!" when Brooke would come on screen. My grandfather would say that Brooke was a "good actress" which meant she cried a lot and was pretty.
  24. So funny, I used to love that show.
