DAYS: Actor Exiting!
Productions in California can't use non compete clauses due to state regulations that are currently the model for a federal ban by the FTC (look it up, it was a big story last January), so that is an uninformed opinion.

DAYS: Actor Exiting!
I think we should also consider that GH's ratings have been tanking this year, so they might be desperate. Personally, I've enjoyed the recent sweeps. As well as a more just focus across multiple characters. However, if TPTB feel that SB will bring back viewers, then they might scoop him up. I always say that the only thing that Steve Burton's acting inspires for me is the memory that we should be wearing more sunscreen as we age, because that skin is rough.

6.3/10 Suddenly Chad is an Everett stan and knows his entire oeuvre? I am a bit worried about the Abigail foreshadowing, I just don't want more magical resurrections at the same time that we're supposed to mourn all of Nicole's losses, it just feels unfair and unbalanced. Stefan's got an excellent point about EJ, but he missed the opportunity to use Everett to leverage the press against the DA to step on Clyde's neck.

5.7/10 Was the coffee scene foreshadowing something for EJ? I'm confused if that was his way of expressing his grief over his stepdaughter, whom he just met last month (with this head on her body), or if they were trying to convey that EJ had taken something? Did not expect the Brady twist. Do people still drink warm milk?

The only ANDE trivia that I recall is that Steve Carlson (the guy on the phone) is the IRL husband of Gail Ramsey aka Susan Moore on GH

This year they mentioned that the basement is filled with ornaments of the dead and divorced Hortons. Coincidentally, I was watching a clip of an old episode with Alice, Carly, Bo, and Shawn D putting up the tree. Shawn whines because Alice didn't hang Hope's ornament (she was presumed dead at the time). Carly magnanimously said that if Alice was trying not to offend her, it was not necessary because Shawn should remember his mother. I was incredulous (not really, but in my head). Of course, Hope's ornament should be on the tree. And if Bo didn't like it, he should have gone to his own parent's house, rather than bringing his new sidepiece to his dead wife's grandmother's house for Christmas! The fact that Carly got points for that was ridiculous, when it was literally the least she could have done in the situation. It made me happy that Hope never gave Carly the time of day. The woman tried to usurp Hope's entire family and then dropped them like a hot potato for a richer guy and her long-lost killer son. (JK, but not by much).

I feel like regardless of backstage drama, Carrie was not long for Springfield. I mean, Ross couldn't settle down that early, she didn't have many professional or personal attachments, and we already knew her backstory. There weren't many other places to go with her that weren't redundant to those already on canvas.

For me, the interesting possibilities for Diane are outweighed by the mystery and stories that came from her murder. I think Marland's mystery writing skills are often underappreciated, and this is my favorite type of daytime drama. Not only is the outcome surprising, but there were so many secrets attached to Diane that were exposed as part of the solution that it feels like a story that could only be told within the soap opera structure. A two-hour movie could never utilize as much backstory without tons of inorganic exposition. And a prime-time drama would need too many recaps for the audience to follow the plot on a week-to-week basis. So, I disagree with the critique of the story as an example of Douglas Marland's weakness. Because, I feel, it was a brilliant way to transition out of the stories of the previous writers and into his own concept for the show.

Classic Primetime Miniseries - Trashy or Classy?
I was just reminded by an Instagram post how truly awful Candice Bergin was in Hollywood Wives. But, remembering her moving and comedic performances as Murphy Brown it brought up the old debate of bad script vs. bad acting. I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to organically deliver a line like, “I walked out of a slum, I can walk out of Beverly Hills”. Followed inexplicably by re-using the same metaphor, “this place makes the slums seem cozy”. Yet, somehow, Steve Forrest demonstrates a broader range of emotions in the scene. So, is Candice Bergin a bad actress who got lucky with a part that played to her rather limited strengths, or was she just not meant for soap operas? It is funny to think how quickly she could've gotten lost in parts like this if she hadn't been cast in her sitcom (see Joanna Cassidy) #hollywoodwives on Instagram Hashtags.mp4

The Paulina and Abe stuff was moving. I thought it was creative to twist this into a story of how they fell in love again, rather than trying to recapture what they once had. Without Paulina's cash, I hope Abe has a pension or disability. And are both he and Stephanie living with Kayla and Steve? Marlena's got the touch. Nicole had one session, during which Marlena asked a single question, and now she's ready to move on from her baby's death and make sweet, sweet love to her husband. Tate's guilt is farfetched. Nicole knows Holly was hungover yesterday, so it is not that unbelievable that she would also use pills in a soap universe (which we all accept has different logic than our reality). Also, hasn't Johnny seen her smoking pot? And even if Tate has possession of the pills, nobody would believe that he forced Holly to take them because they all saw him in the Bistro moments before the OD. Question, have they always called him Alex? I thought when he first returned, most people referenced him as Alexander, but I wonder if that was just a device to get the audience to remember the character from when he was a child? It was just a bit distracting today when everyone called him Alex. Finally, I'm not a Harris fan, but his blue eyes are piercing.

4.2/10 Doesn't Konstantin rolling his ankle feel similar to the last excuse he used to stay in Salem? Much like the tablecloth he bought Maggie for Christmas feels like a repeat of the lace he bought her earlier and pretended it was from Greece? What's up with the déjà vu in this story? Also, kind of humorous to see Black-Patch rough up Konstantin considering they're like two years younger than him. When John picked him up, I expected his back to go out. Also, today I got why everyone goes to Marlena for therapy, despite the fact that she's a psychiatrist in a hospital without a private practice. Nicole, Eric, and Harris don't have any friends. So, they use their insurance to talk to Marlena. It's not therapy. It is just a substitute for not to talking to themselves aloud like they did in the James Reilly days. Finally, I'm sure Maggie knows John's backstory, but I wonder if she was in town when he first moved to Salem? I know Maggie spent some time in New York, so I'd like to know if she met John when he thought that he was Roman? Just so she'll have some perspective when the whole Konstantin tale is revealed.
