  1. It seems like she'd be happier to revisit Kendall than Buffy, that's for sure...
  2. Tensions between Whitney and Brandy's record labels in the 90's also meant that a soundtrack never got an official release for this. Clive/Arista were pushing for it, but Brandy being a teen idol and more "cotemporary" at that stage of her career, her label (then Atlantic) felt it wasn't the right move to have it as an official part of her discography.
  3. Britney was and continues to be very tightly controlled by her handlers. She was never allowed to control her own narrative - when people claim her to be a puppet, they're not kidding. That allowed many in the media to get a free pass for harassing her for years, because those leeching off of her knew it was often good for business to have her name out there in the press and being reported on. Her star power has died down a lot since then, so all of this can be bubbled up to the surface and dissected now. The big difference is Madonna controlled her narrative, something Britney has never been allowed to do in her entire career or life in general. Her team crafted that virginal image around her, and then intentionally crafted the sexpot image to go in contrast to it. Britney continuously got lost in that shuffle. When she's allowed to speak for herself, Britney is often the first to say she was never comfortable with how "sexy" some of her videos and photoshoots had to be. I remember an article a few years back talking about what a dangerous precedent it would have set if Madonna had apologized for the Sex book (like many wanted her to) and that era of her career. To this day, she never has. VICE is generally trash, but this was a good take on it.
  4. Indeed, but so glad to see it really happened. Now, they just need to go ahead and
  5. Lots of press this week on the 30th anniversary of Whitney's iconic (and definitive really) rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at Super Bowl XXV. You know your rendition is iconic when no one remembers the actual game itself, and only remembers your version of the national anthem. Opinion: Whitney Houston's anthem rendition remains iconic 30 years after Super Bowl 25 The Soaring Legacy of Whitney Houston’s Super Bowl National Anthem
  6. Myanmar never really stopped being a military state. Aung San Suu Kyi was very much a power-less figurehead, and her "peaceful" reputation internationally has been obliterated in the past 5 years over Myanmar's blatant genocide of the Rohingya people - not her fault as the military is the one calling the shots there, but Kyi's silence has been deafening and showed what little credibility she has as a leader in that country, especially on the world stage.
  7. Yes, and sadly, Putin will invest heavily in making sure this contingent survives and thrives.
  8. When you watch stuff like this, you can totally understand why most of the world thinks Americans are so f.cuking stupid.
  9. Lindsey Graham can f.uck right off.
  10. Will McConnell and McCarthy call for this though, or sit silent with their tails in-between their legs before the 20th?
  11. Oh god, Loeffler...
  12. <Katherine Chancellor> Dear God In Heaven <Katherine Chancellor>
  13. He should be executed immediately, and I don't usually advocate for violence.
  14. Merrick Garland is an honorable man, and this is sweet justice after McConnell f.ucked him out of that Supreme Court seat.
  15. Seems fitting:
  16. Come on guys, let’s make Julia Sugarbaker proud!
  17. Warnock probably has a better chance than Ossoff. Ossoff, for whatever reason, does not ever seem to poll that well.
  18. So, do we just ignore how awful Michael E. Knight’s acting is on this show?
  19. Scotland is part of the UK, so I would assume it would be covered by what extradition proposal is in place with the wider UK. Looking at the recent Julian Assange case, it would appear the UK courts would have to rule on it first.
  20. Lois was also one of those kooky Labine creations that I don't know if another writer (least of all Guza) would have the same affection or care for.
  21. I guess it helped that Rena and Vanessa are only a few months apart in real-life, but Kimberly Mccullough and her baby face in the 90's looked way too young to be hanging out with the crowd she was in, lol.
  22. Lois was Brenda's only female friendship I ever bought. I always thought Brenda was too damn old to be hanging out with Robin in the 90's.
