GH: April 2025 Discussion Thread
I can see why people had issues with it. It felt like two different ideas trying to get out. And since those two ideas did not mesh well already, it was a mess. Summed up perfectly by an event for a legacy character that everyone cared about being gimmicky overshadowed (and propped by another legacy character in order to get the audience on a specific side) by someone that had NOTHING to do with the themes/drives of the episode.

Like the current discussion about sets in the Y&R thread, I think I will try to see if I notice when I watch the next few episodes. Agree. Oh, today truly has been the day for new knowledge. See? Now I'm really going to try to notice when I watch today's episode.

Ah! I see. So kinda like the pacing...they are trying to find a specific rhythm which is very off-putting.

Honestly, am I missing something? I have seen the mention of the cuts, but I guess I am missing the abruptness. Now when BTG started, it was more noticeable for sure. Same with the music. But two months in, I believe we have gotten better transitions and fades to black...complete with actress staying in place and staring into (what would be) their closeup. Or background (if not dramatic) music for the fade to blacks. But like I said...I must be missing it, but I don't see how.

Since it's leaving my system today, I went ahead and watched the anniversary episode. I remember seeing some comments over it since I had stopped regularly viewing by this point. And now that I think about it, I might want to see the rest of the fallout from the Liz/Ric car crash cuz...LIZ...but outside of the historical moments...I didn't really feel anything...which has been unusual for GH anniversary episodes. I seem...dare I say it...half-baked. We got a flashback for Lucy and her many dresses at the Nurses Ball, but no other flashbacks. We get a mention of Lesley and Monica and no flashbacks. Mentions of other legacy characters, but no flashback...but we can focus on shoehorning in the favor of the month. Or on Sonny propping. I did love the Tracy/Stella scene. Which is a shame. I liked the idea behind it (dedicating a wing to Monica). I really loved seeing the recurring nurses because I liked both and wished they were in story more often. At least I got to see a lot of vets (hey, Mac, hey! and Anna looked really good), but that was more bad than good. And I expected more. But it wasn't an Elizabeth episode so...*shrugs* Oooo now that I love. I'm happy to at least hear this. Ava didn't deserve to look her money in the first place. And I haaaate the 'Ava is Broke' storyline.

I was sitting here the other night thinking about a third person for Hayley to interact with that would not have a problem with her. Couldn't think of anyone when I felt someone was right there in front of me. That's perfect!

4-11 Meh. Yep, @Antoyne. You were so right about Friday's episode. Outside of the Sally/Audra scenes, that was very much a 'hunni, what is this?' of an episode. Not even any follow-up. Though I did like the recap between Victor and Victoria. But the good... 4-10. There were so many good moments and camera angles during the climax to the Tracy storyline. The standouts for me was right before Jack lunged at Alan and the camera had all three Abbotts in frame and they were all reacting separately, but together at the same time. Such a great sign of great actors and actresses. And the police station scene when Chance stood in the door (with CF looking hot AF) and moves away to reveal the 'two ladies' he was letting in was Sharon and Phyllis...and Phyllis's look was so 'if looks could kill.' So it really WAS Martin. And Alan really is dead? I love the tag-team Sharon and Phyllis did on him. And I love that now Traci knows. But it might have been too neatly tied up for me...though I liked how it came together. And it sounds like I'm going to be annoyed when I get around to watching Monday's episode. But there's still so many questions. So Martin was Alan the whole time? He really fell in love with Traci? Alan is dead dead? How does Traci move on? Well...at least Sally and Audra got the whole of the Friday episode. And Audra looked GOOD. They both did so kudos, Designer!! But I can't believe that Audra would risk her relationship with Nate. Especially with the secret about her and Holden out there a ticking time bomb. A good week only let down by Friday's episode.

Well, she can Mia's throne for BeLying if it gets her off my screen. So much worse. Outside of the last season, Mia at least could poke fun at herself and be highly entertaining. I totally agree. I've already watched the Peace Party more times than I should and it's not because of Brit, but Angela outshining her with that Shamea/Drew assist. Oh????

Hey, Diego, hey!!! lol. And good on the designer (and the cameraman) because you could bounce a coin off Mr. Clayborn. But to be fair...it HAS slowed down from page 250 so 😜 And I thought you might like Andre/Dani today. I saw part of it in between jobs today and liked what I saw. Can't wait to sit down and watch the whole episode later.

BTG: April 2025 Discussion Thread
Well, I see someone is doing what they did in Week 3 by not having the episodes available again on all platforms. Ugh. So this is going to be one of THOSE weeks. It does make me wonder if that was a potential reason why there was a bit of drop rating-wise and hope that is not the case this week, but I digress. I feel that I've gotten used to Mondays on BTG to be set-up and table dressings for what the week will be. Sometimes it's just okay. Sometimes it's a nice slow burn. Today I am leaning toward...okay. But something did stand out. So you are telling me that Kat and Eva have the SAME birthday??? Oh, lord, don't tell me they really ARE twins? Silk Press Sheila, what did you do? lol. I guess my next question would be...how is Kat Nicole's miracle baby? I cannot wait to get all of the details. I liked that the episode was centered around Kat's birthday. I love that Martin showed up...and Kat loves Smitty for his gifts. I love that Ted and Martin are still picking on Tomas. And the rivalry between Kat and Eva continued...and Tomas is just making it worse. And we know I live for the Dupree family moments so their version of happy birthday was superb. And hehe at the Febreeze segment. I also thought that we were getting away with not having to do one of those. But DD and TT did a great job with it. Not the lawsuit being a C plot today. But I did like the Bill and Naomi scenes. I can say the same for the Dani and Vernon scenes. I loved that she was so honest with him. I was so sad with the coda and her making it home to drink. Le sigh. She's about to be a mess. NO to a Bill/Hayley baby. It is much, much, muuuuch too soon. Those scenes did nothing, but remind me how much of a whiner Hayley is. Decent start. I mean that could be easily done if they keep her in scenes with Caroline. Or if they feel she's too Bill-adjacent...Derek.

4-9 OOooo that was soooo good and ANOTHER cliffhanger, too?? I'm so scared of what Friday entails when I get there. I'm happy the momentum is back and just right on moving. Traci is giving a masterclass, and I love that BM is getting her time in the sun. Her confrontation with Alan was awesome to watch unfold. And then just having Jack (and a returned Ashley) so nearby due to Diane's remodeling was well-timed. And the highlight that I really loved was when Jack and Ashley made it to Traci's hotel room just in time before Alan figured out that she really did have her phone on. The look that BM had on her face while her words were saying something else so Alan does not realize how scared she was...was flawless. And then watching Jack and Ashley quickly cover...with the perfect excuse of Ashley wanting to see her sister since she just got back...was just PERFECT. And then Traci confronted Alan in public so Alan (if he's Martin) will not react. Just so many good moments. One thing that I continue to say about the new designer, she definitely has brought more colors into the cast. And of course leather. Yes, Ashley, I'm looking at you. 😜 But it was just noticeable to me in the Nick/Sharon scenes. And do I need to mention Chance and the white shirt? Speaking of them, good to see that Chance was getting ever closer to the truth. Though I admit that I did worry about him when he walked up to Alan. And then Traci walked up...smh. I liked the Phyllis/Summer scenes. And I agree with her so I loved she was anti-Kyle.

4-9 Uhhh...hmmm. I can't say it was bad, but I can't say that it was good either. It just feels like a lot is happening. But waiting for something to stick. WHAT I LIKED DEACON V CARTER. I can't say that I hated it. While it did seem abrupt for Deacon to be there, it's always a moment when a battle looks real which it looked like it was. Also...loved what Daphne had on. Though she really should have been quiet. FINN/BILL. I can't help it. They don't have enough scenes and I've enjoyed them being around each other since Sinn's reunion after Sheila 'killed' him. So good to have a scene even if it's just Finn picking on him about Luna. Though it's funny all these characters are at the hospital and don't know that Steffy is there and Liam is hurt. SHE'S STARTING...and by she I meant SHEILA. Now that she has a grandchild, there she goes again scheming. But Sheila is at her best when she's scheming. I'm only worried Brad will write her into a corner again. WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE HEFFA, WHY YOU CARE? And by heffa, I mean Brooke. She's being all upset about Hope when she's the one that drove her away. I was surprised Hope even came by the house and even held a conversation with her. Right now, there's just too much tension there. LIAM. Outside of seeing Grace still in town, I suuure didn't care for him almost dying. Is this how they are planning to write out Steffy when JMW goes on her next maternity leave? I hope not. They are better off trying Liam with Ivy again...except now with Liam and Bill on the outs, he might not want his brother around Bill which would cause tension for Ivy and Electra. SPEAKING OF GRACE...I guess BTG has spoiled me cuz that wig...chiiiiild. But also...she's too good an actress to be just a typical cameo doctor.

Very. And Erika played her so well it was chilling. Also why that was my favorite of those alters. I just don't feel that Nicole will have a reaction like Dani, but it will just as explosive.
