  1. I don't recall them appearing on Texas. I did a The Google search and came across a number of articles about their appearances. So maybe it did happen.
  2. He does resemble Jack Armstrong, who also played Greg Nelson on AMC.
  3. They were really excellent scenes and riveting to watch. At one point, Althea was on the phone with Lila Anderson and trying to intimidate her into coming into the hospital. Liz walked in during the phone conversation and seemed taken aback at Althea's tactics. Liz even called her out on intimidating a patient. Then, as I mentioned, Steve showed up and went on his tirade against Matt. Liz jumped to Steve's defense after Althea reamed him out. "He's tired and overworked," she argued. Althea wasn't having any of it. Steve's talk with Liz in the elevator about Althea and her yelling at him was quite interesting as it was clear that Stevie Boy has issues with women in authority.
  4. I caught both episodes live yesterday. Y'all did miss a lot in the first episode. The emphasis was on Althea getting Lila Anderson to the hospital, where Lila continued to deny anything is wrong with her since she feels fine. Liz started her new assignment in the clinic and continued flirting up a storm with Steve, who tried to sneak a kiss while they were in the elevator. A petulant Steve showed up for work in the clinic where he proceeded to criticize Matt for his incompetence in front of both Althea and Liz. Steve was pissed that Matt allowed John and Karen time away from Hope Memorial because their absence means lots more work for the doctors. Althea reamed Steve out for criticizing Matt the way he did. Before he tried to snatch a kiss from Liz, Steve went on another rant about that "dame" Althea and the way she yelled at him. Great scenes!
  5. In those clips of Josh Taylor as Quint, you can see the short-lived redesigned set for Company. The set was scrapped after just a few months.
  6. Lynde was "let go" from Y&R? I thought she quit.
  7. I got a chuckle with the caption accompanying the photo on the very bottom right calling Lovers and Friends a big hit. Yeah, right.
  8. Joe Willmore. He was replaced later that spring by Robert Calhoun.
  9. Rauch was executive producer when Zaslow was forced out. Conboy didn't arrive until the 2000s. He was hired around November/December 2002.
  10. Watch again. You can clearly see waves crashing onto the beach.
  11. I thought Marland was still at ATWT at that point. As I recollect, he wrote the ending to The Willows storyline, which culminated in December 1979.
  12. I thought I read on here that Lydia Bruce was originally a temporary replacement as Maggie while Bethel went to California to make a movie. Only Bethel didn't return so Lydia replaced her permanently.
  13. I believe Judi took a few weeks/months off to film a movie.
  14. Mary Joan Negro's character was Anne Whitelaw. She was introduced by Corinne Jacker in late 1981 and was only around for about six months. Her character took Pat Randolph's job at Bravo after Pat left town.
  15. I was confused by that too. Actually Kathleen Maguire is credited as Lila Anderson, who appears in the episodes that aired today. Kathleen Murray was the actress who filled in as Maggie.
  16. And Kathleen Murray reminds me a bit of Barbara Rucker. There's a bit of a resemblance.
  17. Dark Shadows didn't last long on WNBC. I think the show was shifted to 4:30 p.m. before it was dropped.
  18. The fall of '84. It's mentioned in the ad.
  19. The episodes were posted on Dailymotion sometime over night. Apparently, there were issues uploading them. Liz's next-door-neighbor Finch is seriously creepy. Liz is back and staying in a hotel. She has a stalker next door neighbor. Althea is still gone but, according to Maggie, "returns to work on Monday."
  20. I'm really impressed with Pamela Toll. Amazing actress. I just finished today's episodes and in her scenes with Elizabeth Hubbard, Toll reminded me so much of Ellen Parker, who played Maureen on Guiding Light. She both looked and sounded like Parker at points today.
  21. Pretty amazing footage. I assume that's Barbara Stanger, who resembles Donna Mills quite a lot. What was up with that credit about "A Day in the Life of a Daytime Dramatic Show"?
  22. I thought that he had been hired and then the writer's strike hit. Supposedly, Swajeski was head writer during the strike. The strike ended and Lemay's material aired for about 2 months (including the reintroduction of Iris). He was then axed in favor of Swajeski.
  23. The Corringtons' Texas material began appearing on Another World on June 30, a week after this aired. In fact, if I remember correctly, Texas was originally slated to premiere on June 30 but it was then pushed off to an August debut. I'm not sure how true it is, but on another board, someone who claims to be a soap writer (but has never divulged their name) claims that the Corringtons contributed material to Another World from 1979 to 1980 in anticipation of the launch of Texas and that they had created the Bellmans and Kevin Cooke.
  24. Come to Me, Bend to Me from Brigadoon.
  25. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but didn't Jim Dedrickson take over the dance studio for his acting troupe?
