  1. So...no one is going to tell Shawn his wife is getting an exorcism? Jarlena are waxing poetically about how their love saved Marlena from the devil, but they aren't going to fill the love of Belle's life in on this? That's so stupid. If we are going to do this can we at least pretend to try to do it right? Although John running into the townhouse to grab his box of Exorcism gear in front of Chloe/Brady did crack me up.
  2. The show definitely de-aged Marlena, but she was a very easy character to transition into the supercouple/action/adventure role because of her pairings with Roman/RoJohn. She was probably one of the only characters from the 70's that had the ability to evolve that way-hence her popularity. She also read a lot younger because Marlena had young children. Mickey/Maggie had adult kids/adopted kids and Mickey/Maggie aren't going to run off the Stockholm to find missing bonds. The show had an embarrassment of riches as well with Bo/Hope, Marlena/Roman/RoJohn, Steve/Kayla, Kim/Shane etc., so I am sure they weren't worried about Mickey/Maggie, Doug/Julie, Tom/Alice at the time. I am not sure if that was right for the future of the show long term, but I do think it was the right direction at the time. It's not like investing in Marlena was a mistake lol.
  3. The Hayes's refused a poor guarantee deal and complained about being pushed out so they left and maybe? overestimated their worth at the time. The show was just moving in a different direction and they didn't want to be just Hope's parents.
  4. Truth. Brenda and Jagger were pulling out condoms out of their wallets 30 years ago. And now it's so awkwardly de-sexualized. It's weird because that's not how teenagers act at all these days. Brenda, Karen, Robin weren't hoeing it up. They were just having sex and it's digressed so much. These teens aren't even drinking let alone stripping at Sonny's club🤣
  5. I went down a rabbit hole and this might be my favorite montage of all time. What are yours?
  6. He doesn't know. Apparently Marlena is keeping Belle sedated until John answers the phone? Because he has a ton of better things to do? He and Marlena spend numerous hours without talking? It's been clear the last few days Marlena hasn't even notified the occupants of the house. It's one of those plots they should just not mention and pretend things are all happening at the same time, but are going out of their way to explain Marlena is just being really weird.
  7. Joss to me is like Belle on Days. You want them to be so much more than they are, you know? Belle has always been boring and so has Joss. They have so much history to build on and act out as teens, but don't. I think Eden is a capable actress, but very, very bland. She looks the part of Carly's daughter but just doesn't bring it for me. Carly and Jax are such big, iconic* characters it's a shame their daughter is so pedestrian. *I consider Jax iconic still despite Ingo
  8. Brenda's set and Liz's set still felt like real teens. Joss's teen set felt like really sanitized teens. You want Joss to be more than she is as Carly/Jax's daughter. She should be a spoiled, rebellious brat and she's practically saintly. It's not like Joss couldn't move out of that later. Brenda was an awful teen, Liz was bratty-they became heroines. It's a character evolving. I hope Spencer/Esme really do shake this up. I think GH desperately needs a gay/bi teen (obvi-Brenda's son) to help this along as well. These teens just seem so lame. It's 2022. Brenda/Jagger were having sex in the Nurse's office 30 years ago. This is the age of streaming. I am not suggesting Euphoria, but Joss and co aren't any fun at all.
  9. As far as teen scenes I prefer when the actors are slightly older. Sure Brenda and Jagger didn't look like anyone I went to high school with, but it wasn't creepy watching sex scenes or them doing more adult stuff. They were in their early 20's and it did show, but there was no Andrea Zuckerman in the room. I think it makes it easier to transition the characters into adult stories as well. Sure, Brenda was about 22 and had been through 2 major relationships, marriages, and engagements, but they also didn't saddle this set with kids and marriage at 18 like shows tend to do as well. I would say Emily/Nik/Lucky/Liz/Zander were more wholesome, but just as successful. I feel like with the Joss set they were super young IRL and we were waiting forever for them to do anything but face tragedy and multiple family problems. Even young looking KMc was allowed to have sex. These teens are wholesome without any fun.
  10. These guys...were a great teen scene I think KMC was the only actual 'teen' but I don't think anyone was that old.
  11. Definitely. I always thought Crazy Luis was a better character though. I guess not a character with any long term potential but I thought TK was fantastic as a psycho and had great chemistry with VM, TB, and RC plus he was very scary.
  12. For sure. I was just thinking about continuity for the OLTL characters at the time. I don't think it would be hard to bring Luis or Lorenzo back. I actually think TK is pretty hit or miss, but did have really good chemistry with the people on GH.
  13. Sorry. My bad-I had to look it up. They were brothers, but not twins lol. Luis was older. I knew it was something stupid like that, but I guess better than cousins. OK. Got it. I still think there was a feasible way to bring him onto the canvas though, even as just a lookalike with Sonny/Jason not trusting him. And maybe Tomas did something awful when he was undercover that made him indebted to the organization and Tomas could still be a foe for the Corinthos organization. At least TK had proven chemistry with the actors on GH.
  14. Is there no way he could have been a presumed dead Luis who lost his memory or was deep undercover? Or a third Alcazar lookalike? Luis/Lorenzo weren't brothers IIRC, but cousins. I know, I KNOW. Great minds😍. Call us Frank!! lol I loved those primetime episodes. The best was Night Sins were Sami caught John/Marlena and Carrie got a face full of acid.
  15. Yeah, I honestly don't think it's a personal attack. Just more of the way Ron views the characters. To be fair, though, Julie/Maggie have not been considered viable for a long, long time (except for that weird period when DH was fired and Maggie was the thing). They have been by and large supporting for years. Marlena and Kate have always gotten much more favorable, modern writing. I never really understood the Kate love, but it's obvious why Marlena still gets it.
  16. I don't think so? I think both actress go with the flow these days. I think both are always very positive and seem happy to be working.
  17. Sorry, Beth was who I was thinking of. I just said Dinah, but I think she did too.
  18. That was bad and insulting. But wasn't it mostly Dinah making the digs?
  19. It's strange because RC doesn't do that to men on Days. He goes out of his way to say Victor and Doug are super active and spry. And of course I want to articulate this delicately, but BH is a 96 year old man. John Aniston clearly has back problems and mobility issues. BH is looking fabulous for his age, but I don't believe Doug is a racquet ball champion. SR is much younger and looks and acts it. They have painted Julie into a old, grumpy, slightly racist lady as well like you said. But on the flip side Kate, Marlena, and Anna run around town fighting evil and bedding younger men. I do think it has to do with who they are paired with as well. Tony, John, and I guess Roman are more viable and younger.
  20. I mean, the ones they did create were awful, so I am not sure. Surprisingly, I thought Kiki was the character with the most potential and she's dead lol.
  21. I never got that. SK wasn't fat. He gained weight since the 90's, but he was still hot. MB and SBu don't look like they did in 1995. In fact SBu looks like an entirely different person and MB is certainly not the smoke show he was in the 90's. I honestly don't think it was meant to be a dig at SR/Maggie, it was just noticeable because she didn't say that to anyone else. I assume it just a poor dialogue choice.
  22. The whole thing should have waited until the PP situation was worked out because that was a mess that really hurt the show long run with everyone having to play new characters. That got me more than bringing OLTLers over. I understand it was nice for OLTL fans to see their characters again, but I don't think it pleased viewers of either show. I certainly know more than enough about OLTL to follow along when they were on GH and I do think ME and RH did fit well at the beginning. It just made GH fans resentful characters were being pushed on them and OLTL fans upset endings were being undone without proper care. Tea's brother Tomas was hinted at being Alcazar, correct? That would have worked for me. That was truly a way to connect the two shows together that was natural. In regards to Vanessa-Frank is a fool. The show has been treading water with Carson for years. Once this Nina story plays out, bring Brenda back, pair her with Sonny, bring her son along and make him gay or bi, have Brenda work at Deception with Lucy and call it a day. I think it would be a good time with Sonny and Carly broken up and Jax/Jason gone, so the show isn't forced to tease those two pairings as well. It was difficult for me because I didn't watch PC at all and it was continuous on both shows and very few PC characters had a true connection to AIDS awareness/Stone/Robin. I think it would have been easier to bring a few relevant characters over to GH for that week and have PC focus on other stories, but I know it was a rare chance for PC to grab ratings. I also think the more time went by fewer characters knew Stone and Robin was gone, so the emotional gravity of it wasn't the same. It became a lot of time devoted to promoting actors singing talent and a chance to get Lucy in her underwear at the end. I was sad when they ended it, but it was not what it was before at all.
  23. Yeah, I doubt Sarah/Renee would tell Marlena/DH she's aged lol. It should have just been a blanket reaction to all the characters she knew. Even saying something like Tony/Anna looked older than she remembered or something because at the moment it feels like she was singling out Maggie.
  24. Playing devil's advocate on the OLTL cast, I will say I am a GH viewer. I watched OLTL a bit, but it was never my soap nor was I invested in it. From that point of view the initial moves RC made with the characters worked okay for me. Sam/McBain had great chemistry as did Todd/Carly. I was not upset Todd/Blair weren't together because that wasn't my soap. So coming from that point of view (which I am not sure how much of the GH audience was), I was fine not having to bring a whole other backstory over. I didn't want a bunch of characters from another soap to come aboard when there were characters from GH that should have been brought back first. I think it was fine to at least try to cut most ties OLTL if you are bringing on these characters. I am watching GH, not a hybrid. It may sound harsh, but it's always how I felt and I do think paying RH, ME, and whatever they paid KA made me mad because they could have used that on GH vets. I understand it was a chance to bring in OLTL viewers but I still think it was a mistake. Anyway, with Vanessa it seems she does not pursue the show and is used to GH pursuing her-which they should. Judging by her lack of work for years, it seems she handled her money well and doesn't need to work. FV may not like her type of personality and she does seem very flakey, but not like a diva really. I just think she knows her worth. I can understand her turning GH down if the offer is bad, but I don't think they have approached her at all and MB pimps a Brenda return all the time.
  25. I agree. I actually think McBain and Todd worked fine, but then they disappeared and it was jarring (though not RC's fault). Them disappearing without a word was more awkward then them being on then bringing them back as new characters was a mistake in every single case. The Kate/Connie story is also what killed it for me. What is the deal with that? I have heard rumors, but does Fv really hate her? Can VM be THAT difficult? She worked on the show for years without much incident or rumors of her being hard to work with. I can't imagine she's worse than Steve or Ingo. We can tread water for a bit with Sonny/Nina, but it's very clear Brenda is missing on the canvas. Throw her son right into the teen scene and call it a day.
