I truly loved Ron Hale as Mike. He gave such nuanced, underrated performances. I especially loved his relationship with Brenda (obvi) even after Sonny left her. May he Rest with the Angels. He will be missed.

Yes. 100%. Deidre doesn't ever need to give a statement. We know she loved Drake. Let her be and decide when she wants to talk about it. Also, Deidre's statement is probably the most sought after for the media, so she took time and grace to talk about it to not overshadow Drake's real life family's loss.

Did you laugh when Brady looked at the watch on his wrist and told Tate it was difficult to tell time in the police interrogation room? Leo Howard looked a little shocked by the flub and I thought it was funny. Did Brady's watch run out of batteries or something in "lockup"?

Yes, we are getting a little insight to Sophia, but not quite enough. I need more of her and Tate interacting. I can sort of see why he trusts her now and it's clear she values him more than Holly does at this point, but we are having to put the pieces together from off screen interactions.

Like Jason said, it was nearly the same time. I think it was pretty clear JER didn't value the Roman character the way he did John, so I don't believe he cared who played Roman. So Ken just gave his buddy a job. And Taylor was riding kind of high at the time after his Y&R stint and his gig as Dylan's dad on 90210. Wayne himself has stated he was fired in 1994 and there was no story for the character left and may be brought back later. There was literally so much story left for Roman/John/Marlena, but it didn't fit into JER's vision which was full speed with Jarlena as a main lovestory.

I wish we could have seen Tate telling Sophia about what Holly did. It would help establish a trust/relationship between them.

True facts. I HATED Courtney and am going to regret typing this, but I think Courtney actually had more long term potential than Sam ever did. Especially if they used her/AJ/Jason correctly. Pairing her with Jax and then Nik was a mistake. The Carly/Jason/Sonny/Courtney quad could have been a lot more exciting if AJ was involved in the mess. That's probably more a sign of AJ's importance than Courtney's though.

Her and Courtney. It's lucky for her that Guza liked Kemo/Sam more than Alicia Willis.

I think it's very reasonable to bring Josh back as Chris and extend an offer to Wayne. Obviously, Marlena needs to grieve and accept losing the love of her life and I could almost see her being an Alice-like figure. In other ways, Marlena is just more of a romantic lead and Wayne's Roman would be the only viable option as a partner for her. Obviously if Jed Allen was still alive I would consider him as well. Like full circle for Marlena. I don't want a Maggie/Konstantin placeholder romance for Marlena.

Especially when, by her own admission, she was being difficult and disagreed with her storylines. You can't have it all. It's going to catch up with you. And it did with Kelly finally. To me it appears she thought she was untouchable at GH. It really didn't help she alienated her JaSam fanbase as well which was quite vocal and fairly large.

You said it well. Frank being petty and making realistic budget cuts isn't a fireable offense. I don't have a high opinion of him and it does seem spiteful, but it's not crazy out of line. Kelly phoning performances in, refusing storylines, and being difficult for years now is something that can get you fired. Not to mention Sam is played out and has been for at least a decade. So while I do give her grace and sympathy due to personal tragedies the decision to cut Sam makes sense.

I think it's clear at this point forcing Deidre and Suzanne to work together isn't a thing. It was painful to watch during the Konstantin story. I've already called Marlena/Maggie's friendship a loss in my head. That's why I think it would perfect to re-ignite a Julie/Marlena friendship again. You know, I think Deidre, Susan, and Suzanne are in for as long as they can be. All 3 of them seem to really enjoy their characters and working on the show.

I would agree. Drake's passing leaves such a huge hole on the canvas. Because who's the next patriarch? LOL Josh Taylor's Roman? Abe? Steve? It's a really big assignment for anyone to take on. I might consider reaching out to Wayne Northrop to see if he's available. Not to discount Drake for any single second as he's my fave, but that seems the most feasible in my head.

Yes. Julie is styled years older than Marlena and seems so much older, but i think IRL they are maybe 4 years apart? Marlena does read younger, but at this point we all know they aren't 40, so it would be lovely to rekindle that relationship especially since they both lost the loves of their lives. I know it will take approximately 10 years to show up onscreen because of tape dates, but it's a nice thought. ETA-I should probably clarify I don't equate Deidre losing her on screen partner to SSH losing her real life and onscreen partner.

Don't apologize! Your work is invaluable. I thought it had taken place much earlier and just took a peek to see if that was the episode. And then just started looking back because it felt like the same time period. I frankly barely remember any of this era and kind of wanted to look what RoJohn was up to. Thanks again for all you do!

Yeah. When I looked at the 12/21 episode John/Adrienne were talking about some keys John had stolen for, Idk, spy reasons? It did look like they were vaguely testing RoJohn/Adrienne though because John was involved? with Whitney Baker the psychiatrist that looked like Marlena and Isabella was teased with Jack.

I have to agree with you. Sam wasn't much of a character outside being Jason's ride or die. Once that ended you ended up with what Sam began with. A whole lotta nothing. She really never had a distinctive personality (outside her brief villainess run). Sam just ended up being cast aside like Courtney but lived much, much longer.

I just looked up that episode and I don't believe that's it. Same time frame but it appears to be from the 12/08/89 episode as long as the episodes I have are dated/numbered correctly. It's the opening scene.

I have been watching some Days from 1984 and I was surprised at how close Marlena/Julie were. It seems like a friendship that has been lost throughout the years and I am not sure why. I know Doug/Julie were eventually made to be much older than Marlena/Roman/John and Hope/Bo became their peers, but it seems like a missed oppurtunity now. It appears SSH and DH get along quite well, so it would be lovely once RC is gone to mine that friendship again especially considering recent circumstances.

I think Adrienne and possibly Justin owned a construction company. I have no idea why RoJohn would be helping out with all this, but I think 1987 is probably a good place to start by year at the very least. This is post-marriage and it seems post-Justin/Adrienne moving out and before Victor was shot and before Emilio I believe so it narrows down the time frame a bit. Late 1987 is where I would place it. At some angles the home looks a bit like RoJohn/Roman/Marlena's house that was destroyed by Orpheus's bomb, but when John called Adrienne "boss" I assumed it wasn't the same set.
