  1. I went to bed while Muguruza and Pliskova were still playing so I didn't even know the results until just a few minutes ago. I also completely forgot there was another match to be played but I'm so glad I didn't stay up. Sounds like Thiem was razor sharp while Monfils may have been slightly injured. Monfils played better when he was under the flu earlier in the week, LOL. He can beat Federer and Stan but stays losing to Thiem. Thiem is talented but to lose in straight sets. Whatever Monf. Well, Thiem shouldn't be too tired to face Stan, lol. That QF could be interesting, if Stan actually comes to play.
  2. ...meanwhile Trump plans to cut Meals on Wheels. What more can one say about this level of cruelty and what people voted for?
  3. Federer was zoning and the winners just rolled off the backhand and forehand. Nadal tried but I think Federer used the formula that he found success with in Australia and condensed it and sharpened it even more. He just looked so confident. He took Nadal's time away during rallies and Nadal was constantly on the backfoot running from side to side scurrying to get the ball. Nadal could neither get into a groove or a rhythm, Federer simply wouldn't allow him. Novak looked mostly subdued in his match although he clearly tried to ignite a fire in himself several times during the match but each time it was short-lived and he couldn't break Nick so he couldn't find a way back into the match. Nick got that early break, felt confident and never looked back. He's not intimidated at all.
  4. More importantly though, never forget Trump once took out a full page ad in a major newspaper to advocate for the execution of five teenagers who were accused and later acquitted of rape after the real perpetrator had been found (after he had been allowed on the streets to rape and assault more women). To this day, Trump has never apologized nor retracted his statements.
  5. The Kerber/Vesnina match was streamed live on WatchESPN, I barely watched any of it and did not stay up to see the outcome, which, for me was predictable.
  6. Looks like some very good news for Scott Hamilton's health prospects. Scott Hamilton Reveals His Third Brain Tumor Has Shrunk Without Treatment: ‘I Was the Recipient of a Spectacular Miracle’
  7. Speaking of analysis coming out after the fact... Official: Sanders shares blame for minors voting in primary This is relatively minor but good to see an instance of an elected official taking onus. I am still, however waiting for evidence of those supposed millions of illegal immigrants who supposedly voted in the general election.
  8. This is why I never ever bought that economic insecurity narrative. Fear of Diversity Made People More Likely to Vote Trump So Comey is supposed to make a statement today about whether there's an investigation of Trump and Russian links? Whatevs. Send in the clowns...don't bother they're here.
  9. Well, we know that many Bernie supporters (who also claimed Hillary was corrupt) did vote for Trump so my point still stands. They should be embarrassed for their vote.
  10. Not surprising at all. Also, I think 51% of America's Billion dollar startups were started by immigrants. The U.S. heavily restricts immigration and becomes, what Japan? Economically Japan has been in and out of stagnation mode for almost twenty years now and their population demographics are completely askew.
  11. Fair enough.
  12. I've just read that the tax return doesn't detail anything about where the money came from. That's really important! If it doesn't detail where the money came from or how it was made, what's the point?
  13. Yes. Was Marisa Tomei the 1st ATWT alum to win an Academy Award? Or were there others?
  14. More Goldman Sachs people for Trump, yet Hillary's speaking engagements were a huge deal somehow. Trump must've been jealous that she was getting paid for speeches and he has to run chasing these people. The people who voted for him to "drain the swamp" should really be embarrassed right now.
  15. Only one year?! Sadly, that's already more information than previously known.
  16. Yeah, no Geraldo's Al Capone vaults mess, please. I don't have MSNBC, so I guess I'll have to keep an ear open to social media for the responses.
  17. Rachel Maddow says she has Trump's tax returns. The PBS show Frontline had a pretty informative one two years ago called Putin's Way.
  18. Many of yesterday's matches were a joy to watch! A few players prevailing over ailments by adapting and changing up their usual gameplans surprising everybody and producing some joyous (and surprisingly efficient) tennis. Singles and doubles produced some compelling matches and in the case of doubles, some intriguing, not always expected results. The only dud match that I saw was the Keys-Osaka match, which was especially disappointing since the last time they played it was a 'barn-burner'. Osaka is compelling and has a winsome personality but her body language and her play were truly lackluster last night. Pete Sampras proved that you don't have to be super-hyped to overcome a challenging opponent and scrap out a win but Osaka has to learn to never let her opponents see a lack of resolve. Osaka is still a teenager but I expect her to find a way past this apparent block.
  19. Well, obviously. HOW DONALD TRUMP IS CLAIMING CREDIT FOR BARACK OBAMA'S SUCCESSES
  20. Dusan Lajovic may be something of a nobody but he's sure eliminating players from this tournament! Takes out Vasek Pospisil.
  21. Since the GOP can't get Mexico to pay for it, they're going to slice and dice FEMA. The folks in Tornado alley better start praying because Trump doesn't care. This guy perfectly sums up why I'm judging Trump voters harshly.
  22. That's Mick?! Boy, how time flies!
  23. Yep, and now is a good opportunity for that second chance to make a break. I'm somewhat dubious on any reunification of Ireland but who knows? We'll watch the economy.
