That is something I have always admired about her. A lot of other top players make excuses after defeats, but to the best of my knowledge she has never been like that. Very commendable!

Quite a letdown after the men's semifinals, but Serena never got going. She had an easy route to the final, and when she met a tougher opponent her lack of matches showed. Still, it's an impressive achievement of her to reach the final. But congratulations to Kerber. She did what she had to do and grabbed the chance she got.

Kerber looks very solid, while Serena looks a bit out of sorts. Maybe it's her lack of competetive tennis that shows.

Yes!! I'm not a big fan of Novak Djokovic, but I can't stand Rafael Nadal so I'm thrilled he's out.

With Michael Parr leaving I really hope they don't kill off Ross and have his heart transplanted into Sarah! I realize that he will be around for some time, so maybe it's unlikely that they're going down that path, but with this show you never know nowadays....

Oh, how I wish Hillary would have been president instead of the A**hole otherwise known as Trump. I realize that she has her faults as well, but compared to T she's practically flawless. I know I would breathe easier with her in the White House than I do now.....

Emmerdale is awful right now. Absolutely awful! I can't buy into Laurel and Bob, because I don't believe for a moment that they love each other. I hate what theyr're doing to Doug and Diane, just to get Doug and Brenda to hook up! And don't even get me started on how the writers have thrown subtlety completely out the window and are sweating bullets in their relentless efforts to rehabilitate and redeem Debbie.... I don't know if it works on others but all it does for me is making me resent that vicious little cow more than ever. I hate that bitch with the fire of a thousand suns!

We're having some political turmoil here as well. We have a general election this year and in several polls the Swedish Democrats, a party with their roots in neo-nazism, has been the second largest party with 20%. It's frightening. Just recently one of their top representatives, who is also the vice speaker in our parliament, said that the Sami people (our equivalent to the aborigines and native Americans) and the Jews are not Swedish. Statements like this is frighteningly similar to what the nazis said during the 30s. He has tried to back-track, but it clearly shows that despite their efforts to make themselves more mainstream, their true colours are barely hidden beneath the surface.
