  1. Thanks for the tip. But since I'm one of those strange () people who doesn't have a facebook account I can't see much of it.
  2. We're having some political turmoil here as well. We have a general election this year and in several polls the Swedish Democrats, a party with their roots in neo-nazism, has been the second largest party with 20%. It's frightening. Just recently one of their top representatives, who is also the vice speaker in our parliament, said that the Sami people (our equivalent to the aborigines and native Americans) and the Jews are not Swedish. Statements like this is frighteningly similar to what the nazis said during the 30s. He has tried to back-track, but it clearly shows that despite their efforts to make themselves more mainstream, their true colours are barely hidden beneath the surface.
  3. I can hardly believe this is happening in a supposedly civilised country in 2018. Where the hell is this world heading?!
  4. There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of things would be completely different if HRC had been elected instead of the moron who currently sits in the White House.
  5. Back then the show wasn't on six times a week though, only twice! And I think that's part of the problem with the show now. There's too many episodes to fill, and too many characters to write for. They should cut back on both episodes and cast and then maybe we could get a tighter and better show. Unfortunately that would probably mean that we would be left with a show consisting only of Dingles.....
  6. Not me, that's for sure. I would almost be surprised if he could point out North Korea on a map......
  7. I quite liked seeing Steffi steamroll everyone. She was never a bore like Nadal is, and she wasn't quite as dominant as Federer/Nadal have been over the past decade. She had competition from Sanchez Vicario, Seles, Pierce, Sabatini etc And for some reason women's tennis has always been more interesting than men's. Probably because the women don't hit as hard or serve as hard as the men so there's more play in women's matches.
  8. Thank you The good old days when the Tates ran Home Farm. I guess technically a Tate is in charge at Home Farm again, but Joseph cannot hold a candle to Frank, Kim and the rest....
  9. What rumour is that?
  10. Seriously, did they think the rest of the world would just accept these new tariffs without retaliation? Big cry-babies!
  11. There! Fixed it! So now Nadal is tied with Margaret Court for most singles titles in one of the four majors. Court won 11 titles in Australia.
  12. Three-time Wimbledon champion (1959, 1960, 1964) and four-time US champion (1959, 1963, 1964, 1966) Maria Bueno from Brazil has died, 78 years old. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-44422258
  13. Is this what the world has come to? A 17-year old girl being told to "flash a bit of flesh"! Yes, I know there's been an apology since then, but can people please stop and think before writing stuff like that! https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-44412405
  14. So it's Nadal vs Thiem for the Men's Title. I'm not holding out much hope, but it would be absolutely delightful if Thiem were to win and finally put an end to the endless row of victories for Nadal in Paris. It's becoming quite tedious.
  15. If I could believe that they would make the subject justice then I would be more intrigued. Hopefully they will prove me wrong. In their favour they have tackled difficult subjects before, so who knows.....
  16. Maria Sharapova couldn't profit from the rest she got after Serena pulled out. She was annihilated today by Garbiñe Muguruza, 2-6, 1-6 https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/44386877
  17. Complaints about Gerry's murder on Emmerdale has been rejected by Ofcom https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-44359394
  18. ^^ I love that quote: Today, you can get the attention, endorsements and compensation of a legend, without ever actually being one. That is so true, and it doesn't apply only to tennis....
