Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but didn't Sly rape Jessica as some sort of twisted revenge for her messing with him? He had seen her as a ticket to wealth by getting her pregnant. She found out about his plan and set her own plan in motion to mess with him. The precise details are a bit blurry for me, since it's been ages since I watched this story. But Sly found out about Jessica's plan and as a revenge he put on a disguise and raped her. It all eventually led to Sly holding Jessica and Lark Voorhies character (Jasmine?) captive in the bar and then it caught on fire.

One simply cannot discuss Kate Bush without this....

Spot on! That is exactly what I love about it. Back then it was a show with a clear identity. Now it's been reduced to just another generic soap. I'm sure there is an element of nostalgia in there too. Some of my earliest memories are of watching Emmerdale Farm alongside my mother. It was her favourite tv-show during that time, and since it came on just before my bedtime I was allowed to stay up while she watched it. I didn't understand English yet, nor could I read the subtitles (I was just around 3-4 years old) so I didn't understand much of what I was watching, but I loved the theme music....

Oh wow..... I really do have a soft spot for 1970s Emmerdale Farm. It's definitely my favourite era of the show. I don't think many would agree with me though, since it is so different from later years. Here in Sweden it used to be half mockingly referred to as "the show where nothing ever happened", and I'm sure it got that reputation from this period. But I just love it.

I didn't know where else to put this, and this feels like a relatively appropriate place. Kate Bush is number one, thanks to Stranger Things 44 years after her first, and up to this date last, number one single in the UK, Kate Bush hits #1 again. 🎉
