  1. It is possible to mine the show's history for stories, despite the hatchet job that has been done on it through the years. And it is, surprise surprise, even possible to do it without involving the Dingles!
  2. I realize that having a major storyline on this show that doesn't involve the Dingles is unrealistic nowadays, but I firmly believe that the Caleb vs Kim storyline could have been so much better, and much more tied to the show's history if written differently. I would have had Caleb be the brother of Steve Marchant, Kim's husband just before her departure in 1999. He and Kim had plotted to commit insurance fraud by stealing one of Kim's horses, selling it and also collecting the insurance. Unfortunately Steve hit Kathy with his car while he was stealing the horse and she ended up in a coma for a while. When she woke up everything unraveled. Steve was sent to prison, while Kim got away with a load of cash. The story should then be that when Steve eventually got out his life was ruined and he eventually killed himself. Now his brother is targeting Kim for revenge.... I think that would have been a much better story than this whole convoluted Caleb-being-the-illegitimate-son-of-Frank crap they've given us.
  3. He also played Peter de Vilbis briefly on Dynasty.
  4. On this side of the pond I'd say that prime examples of characters that ate (and continue to eat) their show are Emmerdale's Cain, Charity and Debbie Dingle, together with the rest of their vile family. They have taken over this show like a disease and infected every aspect of it. Now it's rotten to the core and probably beyond salvation.... Such a sad end to a once great show.
  5. A normal person would have revealed that info immediately, not kept it to himself for two weeks, especially when it concerned someone he claimed to love.
  6. What about Terry (Robyn Bernard), Bobbie's stepdaughter? Has she been mentioned at all after she left? She was a very prominent character during the period that aired here.
  7. Pre-contest favourite Loreen gives Sweden its 7th win, tying with Ireland for most wins through the years. She also becomes only the second act ever to win twice, following in Johnny Logan's footsteps. Final result: Country Jurypoints Televote Total points 1 Sweden 340 243 583 2 Finland 150 376 526 3 Israel 177 185 362 4 Italy 176 174 350 5 Norway 52 216 268 6 Ukraine 54 189 243 7 Belgium 127 55 182 8 Estonia 146 22 168 9 Australia 130 21 151 10 Czechia 94 35 129 11 Lithuania 81 46 127 12 Cyprus 68 58 126 13 Croatia 11 112 123 14 Armenia 69 53 122 15 Austria 104 16 120 16 France 54 50 104 17 Spain 95 5 100 18 Moldova 20 76 96 19 Poland 12 81 93 20 Switzerland 61 31 92 21 Slovenia 33 45 78 22 Albania 17 59 76 23 Portugal 43 16 59 24 Serbia 14 16 30 25 United Kingdom 15 9 24 26 Germany 3 15 18 There were some noticeable discrepancies between jury and televote.... Norway, Ukraine, Croatia, Poland were way more popular with the public, whereas Estonia, Australia, Austria and Spain were the opposite. Jury and public seemed very much in tune when it came to France though.....
  8. Wow, what a lovely surprise!! Luxembourg to return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024 This 1972 winner from Luxembourg is still the best winner ever! (Sorry ABBA )
