I made that point myself. In reality, Jason Frame was a recreation of his brother Willis. They should have casted Chris Robinson as Willis but then I guess they would have to include Gwen too. Of course, they could have written they divorced. Willis blackmailed Sharlenes past as a prostitute much like they did with the character Jason. I agree, I never understood why Jasons name was never mentioned in the 70's but then again, neither was this so called Henry brother "deans father". Why not have Dean come back as Vince's son? AWHP list numerous child actors playing the part of Jamie before Bobby Doran. I am guessing though, Doran played the part once they introduced Dennis Carrington into the scene in 1972. Doran and Mike Hammet played the roles as preteens

I am not a big denise alexander fan. She stayed up until feb of 1989 but I think she wanted out of her contract by then. I am sure Lemay would have chose the Frames over Mckinnons. In fact, he introduced the character Evan Frame into the show and was responsible for bringing Iris and Vivian back. I did hear that Harding was very fond of Anne Heche. Ironically, the Jamie love triangle was already in play when Lemay came back but interesting since he was wrote on the steve alice and rachael triangle Red Swan story was so stupid and the new downfall to AW

Sounds like a Harding Lemay type storyline. I also heard the character of Pammy Davis, Rachels sister from Somerset was being casted in the 80's but that never happen either. what if? Seems like in 1978 or so, there were many characters written in and either recasted or written out pretty quickly I thought I knew this show like the back of my hand. Never heard of Dino and Sharon.

As Iris no but ironically they both played the role of Emma Frame Ordway. I think this was Harding Lemays first Frame family when he decided to make Steve Frames family as a forefront for the show. I think E Ashley is a great actress but did not think she really portrayed the real Emma. She was quite different than Teresa Hughes role from the 70's. Nothing shocking as that is how most recasts are.

he was not axed. he quit. Donna was writing during the writers strike and Lemay was hired to come back and they wrote together only to clash over story lines. I am sure he wanted the Frames and Corys to be the focus and she prob did not know much family history. I often wonder, how many of the old clan would have been written in if he stayed longer but he did write many month scripts that were shown and Donna did keep the focus on the families, and i am sure by the producers stress since that was the year of the 25th anniversary. There were numerous names and character returns (most very brief) between 1988 and 1989 from the past. I am sure If NBC or Proctor were more favorable of Lemay, they would have voted to ax her but at this time things changed unfortanely. i was so waiting for that shakespare show to start back up in 1988

i agree with all your ratings. I heard Wesley Ann Pfenning was hired because she was Paul's friend. It was around this time that AW's began to tank with recasting very bad roles

again, I would say, Alice was never the same after J Courtney but Susan Harney did have success and major story lines on AW. I am guessing that Lemay and Rauch regret getting rid of Courtney and Reinholdt but they did make the show number 1 even after they were fired. After Susan Harney, the other Alice's were just awful and never lasted more than a year

i Don't think Leslie Charleston would have been a good recast. I can't think of who would have been better than susan harney. She was not the same ALcie but how many recasts ever are?

I thought it would have been great if they bought carol lamonte back for the 25th anniversary. She was Rachels maid of honor marrying Mack, lover of Robert Delaney who also came back during the anniversary and had a history with Iris.

And again, another 360 replacement. Mary Page Keller had dark hair and nothing like Sally Frame but she was a success and I consider her one of my fav Sally's and then they replace her with blonde Taylor Miller. I did not care for her at all. I recall Dawn Benz only being on the show for weeks if not days. Was she intro'd as a temp playing the role? She did look a bit like Jennifer Runyon who was playing the role except different color hair

Tim, maybe that explains it. I never understood the casting of Wesley Anne in the role of Alice. Many people did not like Susan Harney as Alice. I enjoyed her but she was really the Alice that I knew. Although different than J Courtney, there was some similarities. At least the look anyway. When Pfenning came in, it was if Alice was a completely different person. She did not last very long at all. I think only 6 months. Most likely due to fans writing in with disappointment. No disrespect to the actress

NOT me. Not a real big Denise Alexander fan. Really goofy and she should have stuck with her GH stuff. She worked well with that and she eventually came back. She had end star billing on AW and frankly I thought her role sucked. Kind of like of a remake Frame or Matthew mama that did not work
